Each spring in this tropical glasshouse, the Strongylodon macrobotrys (jade vine, emerald creeper) produces a show of pendent, turquoise flowers. This vigorous evergreen climber comes from the tropical rainforests of the Philippines, where it is endemic.

A species endemic to Lord Howe Island, Australia, Howea belmoreana (Belmore sentry palm, curly palm, paradise palm) is often confused with the Howea fosteriana (kentia palm), the former species is much more slow-growing, smaller at maturity, and the leaves are distinctly recurved. Here the fronds were arching over the glasshouse range path at Cambridge Botanic Garden, UK.
