I was at dinner with Hailee Steinfeld at [LA restaurant] The Nice Guy — which is so bouji and sceney, but they have a phenomenal kale salad — and he pulled Hailee aside to say he’d heard her song and thought her lyrics were awesome. I was digging my nails into her arm, like, “Oh my goodness, John Mayer told you your music is great?” I was tripping!

Shouldn't birth control be one of the last alternatives for acne, specifically cause of that particular reason, the side effects? There's so many side effects when it comes to birth control.

There are other routes one could take to cure acne. I’ve previously been on prescribed antibiotics and a topical treatment and it didn’t provide me long term results. The main reason I have started taking birth control is because I have hormonal acne. This means the acne stems from an imbalance in my hormones. The only way to fix that would be to take something like birth control that regulates my hormones.

The side effects tend to vary person to person. My dermatologist let me know that if for any reason the birth control she prescribed me isn’t suitable for me, I could try a different one. :)

Saw your post about birth control. I had to get off of it because I got blood clots. Probably the most rare side effect of birth control. It's a crap shoot with any medication. You will not now how you will be affected by it by someone else's experience.

Thanks for the feedback. Sorry to hear you experienced that. My derm warned me about the blood clot side affect too. This might sound dumb, but how did you know you got a blood clot from the birth control? What signs should one look for?

Has anyone taking birth control (specifically Yaz) experienced heightened social anxiety. I’m starting birth control to help get rid of my acne and I’ve read that one of the potential side effects is anxiety. Kind of worried it’ll make my anxiety worse.
