[[ Yo. A nerd who once was bored with RP has now seen the Loki series, and maaaaaayyyyyyy be obsessing all over again.
That's right, me. Ya boi.
I'm gonna take this one slow, but mayhap some magic yet remains, hereabouts....]]
Ye olde pointes of ordre: (ârulesâ)
(Below the cut)
***** THREAD TRACKER *****
ONE: RP will only be in threads or discord (more rare, as it gets too frantic and I donât reply constantly all day). Messenger is for OOC chat and plotting. Asks are okay for memes and random encounters (do folks still do magic!Anons? Those are on the table, as well).
TWO: Please follow standard courtesy regarding: godmoding; killing characters without permission; assuming major injury without discussion; giving me enough of a reply to build on, whether it be paragraphs or two sentences, so long as I can âyes, and...â it; no hate in the inbox, replies, tags, or otherwise.
THREE: I (the mun) am an adult with a life outside of roleplaying on tumblr dot com, and as such replies will be willy nilly depending on when I have time and inspiration. Iâm going to take this blog slowish, keeping a cap on how many people and threads I have going. This will not be an exact science, nor will it be published in number form, but it will be factored into new RP requests.
FOUR: I absolutely work with doubles and with OCs! I love OCs! I have many, myself, both fit into universes and inside their own. As long as we can discuss with some kind of logic how the two will meet, Iâm all for it!
*** Currently not accepting any OCs designed only for Loki. Letâs have our own stories on both sides. đđ
FIVE: NSFW themes are not out of the question, and this blog is dedicated 18+, but there wonât be smut here. I find it awkward in RP, so nothing network television wouldnât show. All sexual content will be discussed BEFORE being attempted.
SIX: Established relationships will need case-by-case discussion, possibly even for canon friends and such. Letâs decide together where we are placing things. đ
[More may be added if needed, but these should be fairly settled]
âThe correct term is arrest.â Steve replies. âI have my instructions from your brother. No, not Thor. The other one. Something about resocialising you. Tony even made you special friendship bracelets.âÂ
Baldr had been quite clear that they should be very careful for Lokiâs magic and of course Tony took it to heart.
âYour mischief has ran wild long enough, Loki.â Steve said.Â
Ceasing what had been steady shifting and clinking of chains, Loki froze. Â
Baldr.Â
While Thorâs boasting and bragging annoyed, while his brash behavior led them both to trouble as much as Lokiâs schemes, he was much better to having chasing him down. Thor was a pushover, at the end of the day. Their brother, not so much.
Teeth ground down, Loki clucked his tongue.  âSocializing,â he mused, his voice having lost any sweetness it may have had in earlier banter.  âI think Iâve been quite sociable... wouldnât you agree?â
âBelieve whatever you want to believe. I am not in the business of changing your mind.â He said. Loki was not going to get under his skin and he was just going to go about his tasks.Â
âSo you have made innocuous nicknames your strategy, then?â It was more an observational tease than a question that expected an answer. Â
âAnd no,â he squared his shoulders again, retesting his restraints, âthe business you are in is kidnapping.â
âYeah, well, someone needs to tell you the truth.â Steve said firmly. âSo suck it up, buttercup.â
Lips pursed for a moment, Loki stared the captain down.
âButtercup? ReallyâŠ.â
âI am not one for swearing, Loki. If you expect me to insult you, I am sure you will find that not everyone is out to make you feel bad.âÂ
âIn my experience,â Loki worked his shoulders within the restraints, âthere is no single âtruthâ to be told, and there is a far distance between âinsultingâ and whatever that was.â
I recently changed job positions to one thatâs more hours and takes more of my brainspace (but yay money and better conditions)... and I just donât have the same kind of time that tumblr RP takes, in long-form.
SO.... Hereâs the deal.
I can be around for memes that just mess around, for ask-Lokiâs, for short stuff and the lulz, but I feel like the long-form paras and story-oriented plotted threads are a no-go, for the immediate and near future.
Official apologies to those who were building things with me, recently--maybe we can skip ahead in our plots and fiddle around with short-and-sweet things? Bite-sized chunks? ^^;
Mirror frowned, long black hair falling into their face.
âI donât want any of them. Not the men. Not the women.â
His hand gently ran up Lokiâs chest, up his neck, to his cheek.
âThe only one I want is you.â
They shifted so that they straddled Lokiâs lap, careful not to injure the other with the movement. Sitting in this new way, they let their vibrant blue eyes look into Lokiâs.
âWhy donât you want me? I could be anyone. I could have anyone because I can be anyone. Why is it that the one person I want denies me?â
Loki tilted his head to the side, letting Mirror have whatever access he wanted, for the moment. He liked fun as much as anyone, and rare to deny the amusement of âstarting upâ again. Shifting his weight in his seat, he allowed Mirrorâs frame to jostle in its balance, just enough that he would need to hold on to stay upright. A cruel game, probably, in its context, but very amusing indeed.
âI can be anyone,â he repeated back, his own image shivering until he âmirroredâ the mirror.  âThose who want me donât want me. They want something theyâve imagined.â
He wanted to argue. He wanted to scream at Loki. To make him see that he needed love just as much as anyone else. That Love and Hope were the strongest forces in the Universe. Stronger than any infinity stone.
But he didnât.
Instead, he bit his tongue and took a step back.
âIâll take my leave of you then.â
Turning, he left Lokiâs home. After all, he had a harvest to help with.
***
It took several days to harvest everything.
A feast was prepared. Â
The alcohol got to his head.
He plopped down on Lokiâs lap and wrapped his arms around his shoulders, his form shifting to that of a beautiful black haired woman, though he still wore a manâs clothes.
âLokiâŠIâm so lonely. Wonât you keep me company tonight?â
No need was felt to actively avoid Mirror over the rest of the Harvest days, but as Loki preferred to make himself scarce during such group efforts anyway, he saw little of the other until it was over. Harvest and other celebrations had been truly grand events, on Asgard. Feasting, drinking, dancing, and physical company all in excess for excessâs sake. It was different, on Midgard. The paltry offering of âNew Asgardâ on Earth had reduced their once grand culture to a pitiful thing, in his eyes. Just one corner of the world reserved for a kingdom that once ruled over the Nine Realms.
If it werenât for the food and drink, Loki would have avoided the revelry as effectively as he avoided the work that it rewarded.
A warm body sliding itself into his lap was not an unfamiliar sensation, but the body itself was definitively more familiar. No matter the image, the shape, Loki recognized the owner. Â
âHave you not earned the companies of the farming masses?â he teased, making no move yet to push Mirror away, though also not adding any more contact. Curiosity and a want for entertainment rose quickly enough to settle him.
âOh, okay.â She said stiffly as she saw his reaction to the mention of the name. âWell, should you change your mind, I wonât push it.â
She went to pick at her food before she started eating again. âI do need to go start cleaning up my backyard. Iâll make sure to check on you every hour, but I can give you a bell or something to ring if you need me sooner. Do you need anything for pain management by the way?â
@mayhemandmagic
Noting the change in her demeanor, Loki resolved himself to take better care how he reacted to his brotherâs name. Worse than an offer to contact him would be suspicion for her that led to contacting him all the same--but with more ill intent.
Having finished his food, Loki slid carefully back along the pull-out-couchâs mattress, easing his body to recline.  âI am alright, for now,â he assured. With most of his strength devoted to the slow process of healing itself, even with her help, he was left with little endurance.  âA rest will do me good.â
A curl to his lips loaded plenty of words at the ready in response to what âhis brotherâ would do, at any given moment, but rather than spit them out, Loki was genuinely startled. Almost no one dared to touch him, and those who might not fear reprisal simply did not bother. Thorâs embraces were crushing things, his pats to the shoulder able to knock a bilgesnipe off its balance, but by choice and by circumstance, Loki had spent most of his life predominantly untouched. Â
That Mirror both dared and bothered caught him off guard. Â
He hated that feeling, the surprise of it.
âYou could be anyone you want,â he returned, remaining quite still, âwhy spend your interest on me?â
âLove doesnât have reason, Loki.â
He steps away and wraps his arms around himself. His figure blurs for a moment. His heart pounds.
âI never intended for you to know. I planned on watching from afar. But you and Thor were the first to show me kindness. You both saved me, and that endeared you both to me. But watching youâŠseeing your painâŠI find that I want to be the one to take it away and make you feel whole.â
He took another step back.
âI understand you donât feel the same. JustâŠforget I said anything.â
âInfatuation,â Loki corrected, a teacher-like tone sharpening the point.  âNot love. The other is made for childrenâs stories.â
Standing with a stretch of his spine, Lokiâs shoulders rolled, shimmering his current choice of wardrobe over his visage as the magic took its place. Trading in the lonely sleep-pants for more typical simplified green and blue robes. Midgardâs air still felt wrong on his skin.
âI am as whole as I need to be. And part of that whole is an indelible memory. I will not forget it, but if you wish not to bring it up again, so be it.â
âThey took me in. Gave me a home when I had none. Harvest is a community thing. Even your brother helps. In fact, the only adult who doesnât is you and a few of the elderly who watch the children.â
He tilted his head to the side as he looked at Loki before moving in closer to him.
He reached out gently, brushing a long strand of hair from out of the taller manâs face.
âI could be anyone you want and yetâŠyou still donât see me.â
A curl to his lips loaded plenty of words at the ready in response to what âhis brotherâ would do, at any given moment, but rather than spit them out, Loki was genuinely startled. Almost no one dared to touch him, and those who might not fear reprisal simply did not bother. Thorâs embraces were crushing things, his pats to the shoulder able to knock a bilgesnipe off its balance, but by choice and by circumstance, Loki had spent most of his life predominantly untouched. Â

He hated that feeling, the surprise of it.
âYou could be anyone you want,â he returned, remaining quite still, âwhy spend your interest on me?â
âThe person I want to have that stuff withâŠdoesnât want me.â
He was certain that Loki had no love for him. And though Loki had shown him acceptance, he was certain it wasnât love.
He cleared his throat.
âI should go. Long day ahead. Itâs time for a harvest so I agreed to help.â
âThat is not always the last word,â Loki offered, less in encouragement as it was simply stating the fact of reality. People changed, in some ways quite often, in fact. Though in others...
âYou help them too much.â It was flat, not fully a judgment but not gentle in its warning.  âThey will bleed you dry.â
Everyone knew that Loki had been adopted. And after losing his adoptive parentsâŠ
âIf I was in your position, all I would want is a mate, and children of my own.â
He blushed and looked down at his hands.
âTo have a family of my ownâŠthat would be the most important to me. No power, no gold would compare.â
Lokiâs eyes rolled.  âI have beget children, they are simply not a responsibility I desire.â
Peeking over at the blush blooming beside him, he tilted his head.  âHowever, I see no reason why you donât have those things for yourself, if theyâre what you want.â
âYeah, Thor. I work with him sometimes. He doesnât normally come here, unless I ask.â She replied,âDo you know him? Would you like me to make a call?â
@mayhemandmagic
âNo, no,â he spoke quickly, dismissively, somewhat calmly. âThat will not be necessary.â
The last thing he needed was to see his brother. Though he knew he had been to Midgard, he had not expected to encounter him.  âI know who he is,â he offered, refocusing on the food in lieu of saying more.
âI donât think you actually want to take over.â
He shrugged.
âI get the idea of wanting to rule the world. In theory it sounds wonderful. In practice? Ruling isnât about yourself. Itâs about making those around you happy less they rebel and put your head on the chopping block. In ruling, you lose the ability to think only of yourself. To cater only to your own needs. I was the president once. His memories. His thoughts. He was under a lot of pressure, Loki. There was so much fear and worry and stress in him. I donât think you would want such a thing. I thinkâŠit would ruin you.â
He shook his head.
âI think you are much more fit to telling stories of grandeur to the little ones. Using your magic to leave them in awe. When you play with them, they do so adore you.â
Eyeing Mirror from behind a length of hair that had fallen loose from his hasty tie, Loki slowly dragged his gaze away again. He certainly had not ordered a deep read with his breakfast. It was not entirely welcome.
âRuling is boring,â he pronounced, wiping his mouth clean on his napkin before depositing it on the plate to signal he was finished.  âSo much responsibility, work...â He shook his head, standing and clearing the table of its plates; he was raised with a certain level of manners, after all.  âThe act of ruling is not the same as taking over in power.â
âYou know, youâre kind of a mess without me. No wonder Thor originally assigned me to keep an eye on you. It wasnât so you wouldnât do something evil. It was so you wouldnât go and get yourself killed.â
He took a bite of warm, fresh bread, dipping it into the runny eggs he had made.
âSo, whatâs on the agenda for you today?â
A snort nearly made it out of Lokiâs nose before he tempered it into something more resembling a scoff.
âI am âkind of a messâ with or without assistance, I assure you.â Might as well own what he was, is, and would be. Mouth still full, he spoke around the bites of food, âThor underestimates me.â It was true enough--in his estimation, everyone underestimated him. For now, Mirror was welcome to, as well.
Licking his lips, Loki leaned to peer past the open columns half-ringing the patio space.  âNew Asgardâ was simply more of the same, to him, so far.  âOh, you know,â he voiced lightly, belying the sarcasm beneath, âstealing a new toy and taking over the world, that sort of thing.â
