I’m gonna be woke and say that people who go “Just get a diagnosis lol it’s so easy” are privileged because not everyone has Access to getting a diagnosis & goin through the process

Yeah whatever more about this always. sideblog version. Goddd. Once I was on Twitter / The Hellsite™ and I came across a post that was all "if you suspect autism, bpd, bipolar, etc then you're faking" or uhhhh. fuckk what was it. "i don't think autism, bpd, bipolar, etc can be self diagnosed" yeah. o think that was it. and that pissed me offffff

forgot what else i was gonna say uhhhgh. i suspect to have depression yes? yeah. i've been like this for years, probably longer than 6 years lmaoooo lmaoooo. idk i don't remember. i am guessing.

but i've been Like This for a while and my previous therapist would ask me how my depression was but i was never diagnosed because. psychiatrist or whatever idk. idkkkkkk.

and i suspect lots of other disorders (dissociative, personality disorder of some sort (npd? unsure #thedoubt)) and i cannot get them because a) expensive ewwww booo b) my parents would shut the possibility down and i would get nowhere (my mom once yelled in my face in public when i asked about possibly getting a diagnosis for autism LMAOOO) (yeah it's so easyyyy trust.)

but wharvrrrr. yeah, it's so easy and you can just Walk right in. totally. then again i am 18 so maybe that is the case (it is not)

“just get a diagnosis” is what I was told when I was fifteen and tried to off myself because of now diagnosed clinical depression. but you wanna know something about that? I could not get diagnosed anywhere that wasn’t a three hour drive from my house because of a THREE YEAR WAIT LIST.

“just get a diagnosis” until you’re gaslit into believing that what you’re experiencing is normal by the psychiatrist you had to drive three hours to see. she only diagnosed me with Major Depressive Disorder & Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I told her back then that I was a suspecting system and maybe autistic and she looked 15 year old Viscera dead in the face and went “no, no, feeling not like yourself, having memory gaps, and feeling like bugs are crawling under your skin when someone touches you or you have an ‘unsafe’ food is normal.”

“just get a diagnosis” until your household barely makes enough to pay rent some months.

I’d love to get a diagnosis for everything I’m suspecting, but I just *can’t* due to circumstances out of my control. it’s horrible, but it’s a sad truth for a lot of people

In our own case, we just don't get to go to the doctor unless it's severely impacting our life

We didn't get our diagnosis of an unspecified mood disorder w/ psychotic symptoms (though I highly suspect it's bipolar, due to family history and intense research) until we tried to off ourselves freshmen year of highschool

We didn't get our POTS diagnosis, even with years of suspecting until we fainted one night while we were just simply getting water

We have the ability to get diagnosis, though our parents never bring us in until it severely impacts our life

We still have so much more I'd like to be diagnosed that we've been suspecting, and we have tried to when we used to go to therapy, though all of those got pushed aside by our therapist since we're unable to explain how we're feeling properly

All we can really do is do as much research as we can on the things we suspect, and see if it lines up with what we're going through, just because our parents neglect any of our medical needs until it's urgent
