જ⁀➴ charles and hugo storms loki’s apartment uninvited, only to find out about his secret girlfriend ♡
˚₊‧꒰ა Unbeknownst to many, JULIEN LOKI had exactly three rules when it came to visitors. Well, it wasn't because he had a deep-seated dislike for people or hated having company around. To put it simply, he just valued his privacy more than most. His apartment was one of the few places where he could escape the noise of his everyday life; It was quiet and entirely his, which was precisely why he preferred people not disturb that peace.
The first term to his rule was simple: do not show up unannounced. And then the second was even simpler: do not touch his things.
The third existed solely because of Charles Chevalier. If Charles was involved, assume the first two rules had already been broken.
For years, those rules had served him well. Today, however, they had been utterly, spectacularly obliterated.
“LOKI, I REALLY HAVE TO PEE.”
“No, you don't.”
“YES, I DO.”
“Charles, we literally passed three public bathrooms before landing here.” The moment the words left Loki's mouth, Charles immediately looked offended.
“And?”
“Why didn’t you use one of those three?”
“Absolutely not.”
“Why not?”
“Because they're gross.”
“He's right,” Hugo chimed in and Loki let out a long, suffering groan, suggesting that this wasn't the first time he'd found himself trapped in a conversation like this.
“Of course you'd say that.”
“I'm hungry and now I require sustenance,” Hugo replied calmly. “Today’s practice was inefficiently exhausting.”
“There it is.”
“I'm just saying,” Hugo shrugged. “If Charles happens to need a bathroom and your apartment happens to contain food, who are we to fight fate?”
“You two are unbelievable.”
“LOKIII!” Charles yelled, already trying to push past him. “STOP GATEKEEPING THE BATHROOM AND LET US IN! I'M ABOUT TO DIE!”
“I'm not gatekeeping the bathroom.”
“You literally are.”
“I'm gatekeeping my apartment.”
“Same thing!”
“Not even remotely the same thing.”
“LOKI—”
Loki pointed at both of them.
“Neither of you are getting in.”
“Wow,” Charles gasped, clutching his chest like he'd just been personally betrayed. “After everything we've been through.”
Loki rolled his eyes with the statement. But that was all it took. The moment his attention slipped for even a second, Charles darted past him.
“THANKS LOVE YOU—” He ducked under Loki's arm and sprinted inside.
“OH YOU LITTLE—!”
“SORRY CAN'T HEAR YOU—EMERGENCY.”
Before Loki could grab him, Charles bolted up the stairs, his footsteps echoing through the house. Loki pinched the bridge of his nose and turned around, only to find Hugo calmly stepping inside as if none of that had just happened.
“I’m glad you didn’t overreact,” Hugo jokingly said, glancing toward the stairs, “now could you point me to the kitchen?”
And in his head, the thought came in right away. This is the worst decision I have ever made in my entire life. Why did I open the door. Now there's two unsolicited guests on my apartment.
“No.”
“I’m going to the kitchen.”
“You’re not.”
Hugo kept walking.
“Destiny has led me to your refrigerator.”
“You’re just hungry.”
“That's what the refrigerator wants you to think.”
Loki was already preparing himself to physically drag Hugo away from his kitchen when Hugo suddenly stopped.
"...Oh."
Loki immediately knew that tone.
It was the tone people used when they found something unexpected. Or better yet, someone. And while following Hugo's line of sight, Loki looked toward the living room.
And there, sitting on the couch, was you.
Curled up comfortably beneath a blanket, completely unaware of the chaos that had just barged through the front door, you glanced up from your phone at the sound of voices.
“Oh, you’re back—”
You paused when you noticed Hugo standing there.
“Oh. Hi.” Hugo blinked. Then, after a brief pause, cleared his throat to ask the most important question.
“Do you know where Loki keeps the snacks?”
Loki sighed.
“Hugo.”
You looked between the two of them, immediately sensing that you had walked into the middle of something.
“Uh...” Your gaze landed on Hugo. “Am I missing context here?”
Hugo looked completely serious.
“Yes,” he said. “The location of the snacks.”
“Sorry?”
A small crease formed between your brows. Hugo blinked once.
“...Aren't you the maid?” he asked. “I thought you'd know where they were.”
Loki closed his eyes, already refusing to engage with whatever direction this conversation was about to take. He genuinely didn’t have the energy to unpack it.
Before Hugo could add anything else and somehow make everything worse, a new voice suddenly echoed from upstairs.
“LOKIII!” Charles shouted. “WHERE DO YOU KEEP THE GOOD TOWELS?” His voice cut off abruptly, pausing to reassess his surroundings. Then his eyes landed on you.
“OHHHH. LOKI HAS A MAID?”
“NO—THE TWO OF YOU LISTEN.” Loki snapped, pointing between Charles and Hugo. “You are both completely misunderstanding the situation.”
He gestured toward you, clearly offended now, like the assumption itself was the real problem. A pause hung in the air, just long enough for the tension to build, Loki’s jaw tightening as he tried to find the right words without making things worse.
“…She is actually my girlfriend.”
The room short-circuited. Charles blinked once. Twice. Then made a sound somewhere between a gasp and a malfunction.
“YOU HAVE A GIRLFRIEND?!”
“Yes,” Loki said immediately, like it was the most obvious fact in the world, then added with a flat look, “she is standing right there. Do I need to start pointing things out for you, or are we good?”
“YOU’RE LYING!”
“I’m literally not.”
Charles slowly turned toward you, as if you were the only stable point left in a suddenly collapsing reality. “Please tell me he’s joking—”
“He isn’t.”
Hugo, meanwhile, looked genuinely distressed, like reality had failed a basic verification check.
“I calculated the absence of your love life,” Hugo said calmly, as if he were stating a weather report. “Up until now, the model consistently predicted solitude as your long-term outcome.”
Loki slowly turned his head toward him.
“…I’m sorry?”
Hugo blinked, unbothered. “It was the most stable projection.”
There was a beat of silence, just long enough for the statement to sink in. Charles immediately dropped onto the couch like his bones had decided they were no longer participating in reality.
“Now, now,” Charles said, pointing between the two of you like he was assembling evidence. “How did you two even meet? What was Loki like back then? And more importantly,” he gestured at Loki like this was the biggest mystery of all, “HOW DID HE PULL YOU?”
You then proceeded to tell Charles and Hugo bits of details like how you first kept running into Loki as kids in the same neighborhood, always at odd times and quieter corners of the city. How he never really talked much back then, just noticed things in passing, starting with small “hello”s whenever you passed each other, then slowing down just a little so those hellos turned into short conversations about nothing important. After that, it became walking the same way home on purpose, sharing snacks sometimes, and waiting a few extra minutes just in case the other showed up. Over time, it turned into something soft and unspoken, until it just felt natural to stay by each other’s side.
As you spoke, Charles kept reacting dramatically at every small detail, while Hugo went quietly still, staring at Loki like he was trying to reconcile the version he had built in his head with the very normal fact that he had apparently been in a long, steady relationship this entire time without anyone noticing.
You were still talking like it was just another part of the story when you added, “…We got engaged recently, actually.”
The room stopped instantly.
Charles jolted so hard he nearly fell off the couch. “YOU CAN’T JUST SAY THAT LIKE IT’S A SIDE NOTE!”
You just continued smoothly, unfazed. “It felt right, though. We’ve known each other for so long that it didn’t really feel like a big decision. We just didn’t see the point in waiting forever to make it official.” As you spoke, your hand found Loki’s without hesitation, fingers slipping between his like it had always been the most natural thing in the world. He didn’t react, already used to it, only tightening his hold on yours in quiet ease, as if it had always been that way.
For a rare moment, even Charles and Hugo fell quiet, their chaos softening as they watched the two of you with something that almost resembled fondness, like they’d accidentally walked into something too soft to interrupt.
It lasted all of three seconds.
Then Charles leaned forward again. “Okay,” he said, pointing between you and Loki. “One more question. How did you even put up with Mr. Sonic over here?
Loki frowned, clearly offended. “Why is everyone acting like I’m difficult?”
All three of them turned to look at him at once, unblinking, and the weight of it made Loki’s frown deepen as he huffed a quiet, “…Continue.”
You only smiled at him, completely unbothered by the collective staring. “Honestly? He’s actually very easy.”
Loki visibly relaxed a fraction. “See?”
“—Because he’s terrified of me.”
The room detonated instantly. Charles nearly fell off the couch, Hugo made a choked sound into his cup, and Loki went still, turning slowly toward you like he had just been personally betrayed.
“I am not terrified.”
“You absolutely are.”
“I’m not.”
You only raised an eyebrow. And just like that, Loki looked away, exhaling through his nose like he had already lost the argument before it even started.
“…This is unfair,” he muttered under his breath, low and resigned, still not looking at you, like he already knew you had him wrapped around your fingers and there was no point pretending otherwise.
Charles snapped upright, pointing with shocking intensity. “OH MY GOD. HUGO DID YOU SEE THAT?”
“I saw it.”
“HE FOLDED. SPEEDY MCFEETFACE ACTUALLY FOLDED TO HIS GIRLFRIEND!”
“I hate both of you,” Loki said flatly, though it lacked any real heat.
Charles leaned back, satisfied. “Yeah yeah, say that now. We’re still coming to the wedding. Hey Hugo!” he suddenly perked up again, snapping his fingers like he’d just remembered something life-changing. “Dibs on best man!”
“…Sure,” Hugo added a second later, already looking mildly uninterested again. “I do not particularly care, but I am claiming it to prevent further discussion.”
Loki opened his mouth like he was about to shut the entire conversation down again, but you were faster. You gently squeezed his hand, leaned in close, and pressed a quick kiss to his cheek before brushing your lips near his ear.
“Sweetheart,” you whispered, soft enough that only he could hear, “we should definitely invite them. You won’t regret it. It’ll be fun… in a very loud, very chaotic way. But I promise, it’ll be worth it.”
Loki paused, breath catching for half a second, then slowly exhaled like all his objections had just lost their momentum at once.
And just like that, Loki didn’t just gain two unexpected house visitors for the afternoon, but two equally unexpected wedding attendees who had already appointed themselves roles he absolutely did not approve of.
hellooo!!! i’d like to request a fic where reader & her daughter “fight” over dad!hugo 🥹
dad!hugo who comes home from training only to be greeted by two females fighting for his attention. the first one is his five-year-old daughter, already sprinting across the living room with her arms wide open and her feet skidding across the hardwood floor.
“papa!” she squeals.
the second one is you, standing by the sofa with your arms crossed, narrowing your eyes at the little traitor currently throwing herself into your beloved husband’s arms.
“excuse me,” you scoff playfully, cocking an eyebrow. “i waited all day for him too!”
your daughter only clings tighter around his neck, looking at you with her cheeks puffed out.
“no. my papa.”
hugo, still in his training jacket, freezes with one arm wrapped around your daughter and the other hovering uselessly in the air. his eyes flicker towards you, then back to the child glaring at you while clinging onto him. “… i see we’re doing this again,” he murmurs, already fighting back an amused smirk.
“yes,” you declare, stepping closer. “tell your daughter i was here first.”
“mama…” she huffs, pressing both tiny hands against hugo’s cheeks like she’s trying to claim his whole face. “share.”
you gasp again, placing a hand over your chest. “share? you’re the one who steals him every time he comes home.”
“because papa loves me.”
“well, papa married me.”
hugo’s lips twitch, far too entertained by the current exchange.
your daughter goes quiet for a second, clearly processing this oh-so-devastating information. then, with the stubborn certainty only a five-year-old could have, she lifts her chin. “but i know papa loves me more...”
hugo immediately looks at you like he knows he is about to be dragged into dangerous territory.
“vivien…” you call out, voice sickeningly sweet. “is that true?”
he breathes out a quiet laugh, before leaning down to kiss your daughter’s forehead first. “i love my little princess.”
she beams, looking entirely too victorious.
then he shifts her slightly in one arm, reaching for your hand before pulling you close to press a chaste kiss on your cheek. “and i love my dearest wife, as well. i love both of you equally.”
“now that’s cheating!”
“how is that cheating?” he chuckles, voice warm with amusement. “it’s the truth.”
your daughter, however, was still not satisfied. with both arms around hugo’s neck, she looks you dead in the eye before planting a barrage of tiny kisses all over his cheek.
you blink.
“oh, so that’s how we’re playing it now?”
hugo’s expression softens, his eyes crinkling at the corners as you step closer and immediately begin doing the same, making your daughter pout like you’d just copied her greatest idea.
“mama! hmphh!” she huffed, crossing her little arms over her chest.
“… what?” you smile innocently, tilting your head like you hadn’t done anything wrong.
“i’m sharing, just like you asked.”
a soft laughter slips out of hugo before he can stop it, caught between the two people who loved him most in the world— his heart full in that tender way he never really knew how to put into words.
and maybe, if anyone were to ask him… he would say this was his favorite part about coming home.

your nerdy husband helping you and your daughter with her math homework (requested!!) 𑣲 .✦ ݁˖ ۶ৎ
husband!megumi fushiguro x f!reader, girl dad megumi, probably ooc i’m sorry😓, megumi has glasses, fluff | wc 1.5k
"...um...so now what?"
you're sat at the kitchen table, half slumped over in your seat and exhausted from the past half-hour of helping or trying to help your daughter with her math homework. if you’re honest, you’re not even sure if you can call it helping. between the heavy flipping through your daughter's textbooks and the scattered mess of sheets across the table, the two of you have solved an embarrassingly small number of questions, and it's clear you're both at the end of your tether.
your daughter glances up at you, expression half-incredulous before bursting into complaint.
"why are you asking me what to do? you're supposed to be the one helping me!"
you chew at your lip in frustration. sure, maybe you're not that big of a math enthusiast but surely you have to have it in you to be able to do this level of math at least, you reason with yourself.
with a quick sigh, you pull your chair closer to the table to get a better look at the equation once more.
"...okay. so...maybe try multiply the root out...and then um...you should get….." you trail off. it’s obvious by now that you’re totally lost. that results in a wail from your daughter as she buries her face in her hands, a few stray sheets falling to the floor in the process.
“…what are you both doing up so late at night?”
you look up, and for the first time today, you think maybe there finally is some hope for your daughter to complete her math homework.
the hope himself — megumi fushiguro — is stood in the doorway, his expression unimpressed as he stares at you both through his glasses, taking in the chaos. textbooks are scattered haphazardly, worksheets and pages discarded and your daughter is currently half on the verge of tears.
unfortunately enough for your poor husband, this is definitely not an uncommon sight for him. in fact, it’s become a sort of routine for you and your daughter — every sunday evening, no fail, you both manage to wind up in the exact same situation.
it isn’t like you aren’t both aware of the issue, either. he’s scolded you both countless times, his features stern as ever as he’d lectured you on the importance of not procrastinating. but as always, his lecture seems not to have gotten through to either of you.
megumi simply sighs, too tired to even question it this time, before making his way to the table. you gratefully slip out of your seat so that he can take your place next to his daughter, allowing you to stand back and watch him. he reaches over the table to organise the mess of sheets and workbooks into a neat pile before picking up the pen.
it’s cute, really, and you can’t help but bite back a smile at the sight: your husband leaning over the worksheet, brows pinched in careful concentration and his slender hand moving fluidly over the paper as he demonstrates how to solve the next question, and to his left, your daughter, her own expression equally as serious as she tries to keep up.
you try — and fail — to stifle a tiny pleased sound at the sight, causing megumi to turn and raise a brow at you, unamused.
“what are you doing? sit, you need to pay attention too.” megumi taps the table, nudging his head in the direction of the seat opposite him. “how else are you going to help her next time?”
“…me? but can’t you just do it next time, megs?”
he looks up from the equation he’s solving to throw you an unimpressed look.
“okay, fiiine.” you huff out before sliding into the seat opposite him.
with your head resting against your palm, you watch as he works through the equations, his voice low and brows pinched in concentration as he explains each step to your daughter. it’s sweet, and you can’t help but cherish the evenings spent like this. not to mention, despite all his grumbling, you can tell that megumi likes the domesticity of it all too.
-
he’s always been like that — enjoying chores and seeing no problem in sitting through tedious tasks, never uttering a complaint. you’d teased him at first, finding it hilarious when he confessed that he actually looked forward to doing chores with you, solving the sudoku whilst curled up on the couch, or even just studying.
the first time the topic came up, you’d been washing the dishes with him stood by your side, neatly wiping them dry and placing them on the counter. you’d nudged him teasingly, throwing a quick glance in his direction.
“you know, megs, you’re such a workaholic sometimes..”
“…how so?”
“you always seem so content when we do chores or boring tasks. it’s almost creepy you know.” you had mumbled, looking up from the dishes once more to study his expression. he seemed unbothered by the observation, but you could see the way his mouth was just slightly parted, as though wordlessly questioning your words. “not to mention,” you continued, “i’ve never met somebody who enjoys solving math equations for fun until i met you.”
he didn’t reply, simply dropping his gaze back to the plate he’d been wiping before humming quietly in acknowledgment.
“if i didn’t know gojo, i’d have assumed he was reaaally strict with you as a kid, but we both know that’s definitely not true…” you trailed off — it had been just last week when satoru had visited and had absolutely spoilt your daughter upon coming to visit you both, after all.
after some quiet deliberation, megumi finally decided to speak up, voice softer than usual.
“…i guess it’s just nice to have a routine. it’s a nice change from all the chaos.”
you had smiled at that, studying your husband’s face once more.
“hm, yeah. i guess you’re right, megs.”
-
finally, megumi finishes explaining the last of the homework questions. your daughter jump ups from her seat with a relieved expression, holding up the worksheet and looking over it with a pleased expression.
meanwhile megumi stretches, cracking his neck and allowing his eyes to flutter shut for a second as he lifts his head towards the ceiling. you study the way his lashes graze his cheek slightly as he inhales before bringing himself to sit upright once more. he turns to face you and your daughter once more.
“next time,” he murmurs pointedly, tone firm but not harsh, “don’t save your work until sunday evening, okay?”
you both nod, though all three of you know that his words have definitely fallen on deaf ears as always.
megumi watches your daughter rush upstairs to get ready for bed before he finally lets himself relax a fraction, yawning and placing his head onto the desk. you stay sat in the seat opposite him, allowing your hands to run over the dark tufts and spikes of his hair before carefully lifting his glasses from his head, placing them on the table next to him.
“megs, you’re going to break your glasses like that.” you murmur softly, voice gentle and expression concerned. your eyes graze over his slumped form, the way the stray spikes of hair cling to the nape of his neck and the tired slump of his shoulders. “do you want me to make you some tea..?”
he shakes his head no before lifting his head once more, watching you through half-bleary eyes. he tries to rub the sleepiness away, attempting to focus on your face as best as he can without his glasses on as you frown at the glass lenses, trying to rub them clean with a cloth. you’d never really noticed just how dirty they’d gotten, and of course megumi being megumi, he’d probably never even considered taking the time to look after himself instead of others.
so you take it upon yourself to offer him this simple act of care, hands steady as you rub the glass clean in circular motions.
you both sit like that in silence for a short while longer, with you still gently cleaning his glasses lenses as he sits sleepily, cheek pressed against his hand as he watches you.
you eventually decide to speak, your voice tentative.
“seriously, though…thank you, megumi.”
he blinks at that, a little thrown off-guard, and for once the usual stoic expression seems to melt into something slightly softer.
“…it’s…nothing.” he sighs, sitting up and scratching his neck. “like i said though…next time, try not to leave it so late.”
you stifle a tiny giggle at that.
“…yeah, yeah — i won’t.”
you both know that isn’t true, but megumi decides not to comment on it. he’s completely content with things as they are, anyway.
author’s notes: agh i’m so sorry for taking SOO long to write this req but i enjoyed writing about nerd megumi & i loved the idea of him having glasses too so thank you!!
also i’m sorry that this is a little ooc💔 i tried ahh

vivien hugo believes everyone's destiny is determined with reason, and yet, he finds himself tampering with fate itself just to see you happy.
a/n: squint and the pie is basically a bday cake... childhood crush trope idk man
The class is very clearly excited— and that's to nobody's surprise, it is the long awaited Pie Day today after all!
A day to celebrate the Twelfth Night after Christmas, but more importantly, to the young and elated children, it's a means of acquiring the status of royalty for the day!
Hugo's blank gaze filters around the classroom with mild intrigue, before it naturally lands on you beside him once more, a habit he's developed awhile back and not yet grown out of.
For as long as he can remember, you've always been a sight for sore eyes.
Warm and shining as you smile, dressed in bright colours that make it hard for him to look away even if your radiance is blinding to his eyes.
You're as pretty as a flower, he thinks, definitely prettier though. And Hugo is a lot like a butterfly, drawn to your devastating sweetness in a way he can't explain with logic.
Hugo doesn't remember the last time he found anything quite as pretty as you, there's even a part of him that thinks he'll never see such a wonderful sight again, but he's not really against it, not when he's more than happy to have your laughter occupy all of his thoughts.
Which is why, he's caught off guard when he doesn't hear the sweet sound of your mirth, but rather, the noise of your deafening silence.
Hugo watches you for a good moment, your slice of pie is left both half eaten and half forgotten in front of you as you squirm in your seat with restlessness. Your attention is completely stolen away, and curious to see what's got you so bothered, Hugo follows your gaze, quickly noticing the cause of your distraction.
It's the kids around you, namely the three who have found the little trinkets in their slices. One's showing hers off to those around her with a proud grin, another is in the middle of being crowned the king of the day, and the last one has their hand up high, fève in the other as they wave the teacher over to show them their find.
The fourth and final figure is in his slice, a discovery that has still yet to be told to the teachers, for the thought of being crowned the king of the day has never excited him much.
That's all the figures, Hugo notes without blinking, glancing back at you like natural instinct, yourself far more interesting than anything else this world had to offer.
The act of finding the little trinkets has always believed to be luck or fortune, though Hugo thinks it's the work fate that decides the results. And fate, is something that is never meant to be altered under any circumstances.
But…
But after seeing your painfully gutting expression — lips wobbling and eyes glazing with unleashed tears, the hope in your eyes slowly fading away, only to be replaced with envy as you tried to collect your shaky breath of disappointment — he finds himself doing something he's never done before.
Vivien Hugo goes against his principles.
The act is inconceivable, he can't believe he's doing something like this, but he has to!
You were about to cry!
And the mere thought of it has his stomach lurch, urging him into motion.
He's reaching out for the little figure in his plate before he can think, and discretely, without alerting you, he's placing it onto your plate.
It's yours now, he thinks after a quiet moment, breath caught in his throat as he replays what he's done. He's changed fate— tampered with it! Hugo has gone against his ideology, something he believes in like the gospel, because it is his faith, it is his religion.
Yet, despite its absoluteness, look at what he has done! The boy has done something so terribly wrong! And he's done it all for you— hoping, praying, that you wouldn't cry.
"M-Miss, sniff, I, I found it…!"
The turmoil that is his thoughts come to a sudden pause when he hears you speak. Your voice is soft, it rings like a sweet lullaby, a noise that has bewitched the boy entirely, his soul and his body.
"That's the last one!" The teacher cheers, a paper crown in her hand as she approaches you.
Hugo's gaze is drawn to you once more, and he watches you from the corner of his eyes, his body frozen still as you bop your head, the tufts of your hair bouncing along.
Your earlier sadness is now nowhere to be found, and relief is quick to bloom within him. At least you no longer look like you're about to cry. But the relief is short lived, for what you do next knocks the wind out of him.
You hold the little trinket delicately in your hands, bringing it closer towards you to place a gentle kiss on it — an act of reverence he never would have thought he'd receive form you.
Heat is quick to blossom against his pale cheeks, his eyes growing wide with disbelief as you let out a small titter, one he will most likely play in his mind whenever he has nightmares in the future— because there is nothing quite as pure and comforting as that sound.
The crown is crooked on your head, but it suits you perfectly. And your smile is even more crooked, but it charms him nevertheless. For your happiness is incandescent like that of the sun's, the kind of warmth he's enamoured by.
Hugo can't stop staring at you, he doesn't even blink, fearing that he will miss even a small moment of your radiant beauty otherwise.
"Vivi!
You sing like a hymn as you address him, and he's positive that there are flowers blooming around you when you proudly hold the figure with careful hands. "You have to listen to everything I say now, hehe!"
"Uh, yeah…" He responds to you like a man possessed, guiding your hand with upmost devotion to his pursed lips so he can place a gentle kiss on it. "Yes, your majesty."
You don't even need to be royalty, he thinks, and still, a thousand times over, he will do whatever it is you wish.
Even if it is at the cost of tampering with fate, Hugo has come to the terrifying realisation that he will do it all just to see you smile.
im dead this was supposed to be bday fic but uh... i lwk find those boring to write... thought this idea was cute and had it for a while, its pies which is kind of like cakes? yhhh idekkk
synopsis: hugo’s petty ex-girlfriend accuses him of being gay because of his relationship with a certain someone named julian loki, causing rumors to spread like wildfire. so what will he do to save his image?
starring: vivian hugo x female reader
notes: love at first sight. heavily inspired by the song everybody talks by neon trees. hugo’s ex will be called charlotte. bolded are thoughts or yells. IK THIS IS KINDA LONG BUT PLS GIVE IT A CHANCE!!! not proofread so im sorry if theres mistakes. it was actually rlly fun to write so lmk if you want part 2 (charlotte’s evil schemes continue 🤫)
“you’re breaking up with me!?” charlotte screeched, attracting a few curious students nearby (and possibly scaring the birds outside). putting both hands on hugo’s shoulders, she violently shook him, yelling at him to “say something!”
hugo merely blinked at her, which only seemed to agitate the blonde even more. gently prying her sweaty palms off him, he replied with an indifferent “yes.”
“but why?” charlotte’s bottom lip jutted out in a pout, clearly trying to make him feel bad. “am i not enough for you?” she held her hands together with lashes fluttering up at him, appearing like a sweet girl who could do no wrong.
unfortunately, her antics seem to have no effect on the ever stoic hugo, who only looked at her silently.
at last, just when charlotte was getting uncomfortable under his watchful gaze, he offered a simple explanation. “we’re not destined to be together. that’s it.” the gathering crowd around them gasped, letting out taunting oos and ohs which were immediately cut off when charlotte sent a glare their way and a bark telling them to mind their own business. the horde shortly scrammed after the threat. hugo was about to walk past her, but his wrist was gripped by a clammy hand with manicured nails poking into his skin.
“what do you mean?” charlotte slowly turned her head to stare right into his eyes. “we’re absolutely perfect together! the cutest boy in school with the most popular and prettiest girl! we’re a match made by cupid himself!” she reasoned, desperately making an endeavor to save the relationship.
“vanity isn’t everything i guess. sorry, but i don’t feel the attraction towards you anymore.” with that statement, charlotte felt her stomach drop. and so, she resorted to her last method. and what is the said method? crying obviously!
“what the hell vivian? are you saying you never really liked me and found me UGLY?” she dropped her head as she sniffled obnoxiously, being sure to put an emphasis on the word ugly. “gosh, you’re horrible.” wiping her tears that magically (and comically) emerged in her eyes, charlotte continued with her dramatic monologue. “i can’t believe you made me fall in love with you! and the worst part? i still love you!” the few droplets of water impressively turned into a waterfall, letting choked sobs escape from her lips.
now, charlotte was absolutely certain that this will do the trick. i mean…who could have the heart to deny her? hugo cleared his throat, interrupting her cries. a sly, tiny smirk appeared on her face, covered by her hand. triumphant, she looked up to meet his eyes again.
“uhm…can you let go now?” he said, gaze descending to her palm that’s tightly wrapped around his wrist. charlotte’s face dropped. never in her life has this method ever failed! it was only her breaking hearts! well, it was supposed to.
her face began to heat up in a crimson shade out of anger and frustration. smoke practically escaped through her ears. hugo would’ve been scared if it hadn’t been her piercing voice snapping him out of his thoughts. “are you serious?! fine! have it your way.” she reluctantly let go, but not before having the final word. “but listen here, vivian. i will make you regret this!” and with that, she stomped away, high ponytail swaying as she walked.
and that’s what happened. or at least what you would’ve imagined happening. but no. the most, shocking, surprising, and out-of-this-world thing happened instead. apparently, charlotte told her friends that she and hugo broke up because she found him kissing julian loki, his teammate. then her friends told their friends who then told their friends and then told everyone. yeah. shocking, right?
“that’s crazy.” your best friend chigiri said, dragging out the last syllable. you just finished relaying the gossip to him and now you were doing face masks. his sleeping bag was thrown in a corner along with his other essentials, cluttering into a messy pile.
“i know right! i don’t know if i really believe it though.” you exclaimed, kicking your legs as you laid on your stomach.
as you clicked through the remote looking for a good show to watch, chigiri said “i wouldn’t be that surprised if it’s true. i mean, he touches everyone’s chest during games.” you let out a tiny giggle at that.
“hyoma! cut him some slack. football is a contact sport after all. and plus, aren’t you and kunigami a thing? or am i just hearing things wrong?” you teased, nudging his shoulder.
chigiri rolled his eyes at your comment. “we’re just friends. don’t get it twisted.” you smiled, muttering an uh-huh.
“still. i can’t believe he dated charlotte.” you said absentmindedly. charlotte beaumont is one of those popular girls who can get with whoever they want, like in those shitty high school romance shows. blonde, blue eyed, and the cheerleading captain. she probably dated more guys than the number of people you know combined. you’re not the most sociable, but you do know a lot of people. but charlotte? she’s on a whole different level. and, she’s also so rude! one time she shoved you because you were supposedly in her way, when the hall was quite literally empty.
chigiri gave a brief look. “why?” he questioned, pointing for you to stop at how to lose a guy in 10 days.
“because he’s so wow and she’s so eugh. you get what i mean?” with the rom com starting to play, you and chigiri settle in a peaceful silence. you reached across your bed for some candy, offering him a piece.
chigiri popped the piece of sugar into his mouth, chewing before asking “do you like him?”
“KOFF KOFF AH-HEM” you were caught so off guard that you accidently choked on your candy. chigiri delivered some pats to your back in response, raising an eyebrow.
“gosh hyoma! you can’t just say that!” you scolded, face a little bit flushed from embarrassment. chigiri just gave a small shrug to your complaints.
“well you sounded like you like him. am i wrong?” his attention went back to the screen, leaving you to gape at him.
stuttering you squeaked out a barely audible “…maybe.” now that caught his attention. chigiri looked at you like you’ve grown three heads, but without a brain in each of them.
“seriously? you like mr. destiny guy?”
“hey! he’s not even that bad. he’s pretty cute and tall. and…he seems really passionate about football.” your face turned red as you tried to defend hugo, avoiding chigiri’s eyes.
“whatever you say. at least he’s better than all your other crushes. remember when you went on a date with a guy who was obsessed with toilet paper?” chigiri smirked, stifling a laugh behind his hand.
you groaned in exasperation. “don’t remind me!”
right as hugo walked into school the next day, all eyes were on him. whispers, murmurs, and pointed looks throughout the entire hallway and every corner. beside him was charles, who was basically exploding with energy and mischief as he shoved hugo’s side.
“what was that for?” he muttered, stumbling slightly. charles flashed him one of his childish grins, and gestured to the students nearby.
“hugo and loki sitting in a tree! k-i-s-s-i-n-g!” charles sang, causing some to giggle in their direction. however, his fun was cut short when hugo whacked the side of the face, mumbling for him to shut up. “im reporting you for that!” charles threatened tauntingly. hugo sighed in disbelief.
before charles could do anything else to embarrass him, the bell rang, a sound so sweet that sounded like an angel’s voice to hugo! “see you later at practice.” he ruffled charles’ blond hair and held out a peace sign, heading to his class.
you sent chigiri a quick text that you arrived at the field. since you didn’t have anything to do after school, you decided to watch the football team practice. the sound of whistles and shouting immediately engulfed your ears as you stepped onto the grass. making your way to the bleachers, you picked a spot with a nice view and set your backpack beside you.
“igaguri! one more mistake and you’re off this team!” a lanky bowl-cut haired man yelled, causing the said player to shriek in fear. a blond boy laughed, teasing him alongside another blond but with tanned skin. you scanned the field for chigiri, and found him taking a sip of water from his duffel bag. you smiled at him as he met your gaze. plenty of other students are also at the bleachers, either to watch the football practice or the cheerleading practice on the right side of the field.
looking to your right, you saw the cheerleaders doing tricks tumbling passes, while charlotte shouted orders at them. good thing i’m not on the team, you thought in relief.
a loud whistle resonated throughout the field, with the lanky man signaling for a break. you made your way down the bleachers and to chigiri.
“hey! you did great out there!” you complimented. “i don’t even know how you can run that fast without getting tired.”
“maybe you’re just un athletic, but thanks.” he said sarcastically, wiping his sweat with a towel. you kicked his shin in annoyance, and in return he flicked your forehead.
“BREAK TIME!!!”
you winced at the harsh sound coming from the other side of the field. “geez. charlotte can’t be anymore loud can she?” chigiri muttered.
coincidentally, the cheerleaders were also taking their break. “since when did she get a megaphone? her voice is already loud and annoying enough.” chigiri snickered at that.
in the distance, charles was teasing hugo whos frustrated at the gap between his and loki’s relationship now. ever since rumors started that they kissed, their friendship got awkward. “stop looking so mopey! you’re gonna get wrinkles and that’s not popular with the ladies!” charles suggested.
“i think ill be done with dating for a while.” hugo groaned, running his hands over his face.
charles, as smart as ever, jumped up like an idea struck him. “ah ha!” hugo looked at him with curiosity, raising an eyebrow in suspicion. “you want to be bffs with loki again, right?” nodding, charles beamed. “easy solution! just kiss a girl and all those rumors will be proven false!” hugo paused, seemingly considering the possibility of this plan working. “i’m smart? thank you so much but i already know.” charles said, complimenting himself.
“that’s…not a bad idea. but how will i even do that? i need to get into a relationship first.” hugo said, sighing.
“who says you need to? listen. all the ladies love you. you’re the dream guy. this plan will work 67% of the time, but since girls like you, it will work 69% instead!” charles giggled, proud of himself.
hugo deadpanned at him. “that’s not a big difference.”
“just trust me! now go and win someone’s heart!”
“…no. i don’t think i’ll be able to do it.”
“must i do everything for you? how did you even get with charlotte in the first place?” charles grumbled in irritation, but still showed a grin on his face. glancing around the field, he spots you.
“what about her?” charles pointed at you, and hugo smacked his hand down.
“…”
“so?”
“woah.” hugo’s eyes widened, staring at you. it felt like cupid shot an arrow through his heart. your [hair color] shined from the sun’s glow, [eye color] eyes clear, lashes fluttering and the apples of your cheeks slightly flushed. you exhibit a gentle smile and a radiant soul, laughing lightly with chigiri. how come he’s never seen you before? has he just not been paying attention to your beauty?
charles giggled beside him, ruining the moment. “are you in love already? don’t tell me you’re cheating on loki!” normally hugo would tell him to shut up, but he’s too busy admiring your face.
“i think it’s destiny.” he blurted out before he could stop himself.
“go rizz her up! look i have these pickup lines and they’re guaranteed to work!” charles swiftly unlocked his phone and pulled up a blog titled “10 rizzy pickup lines to get your girl.”
hugo peeked over, squinting at a particular one. “did it hurt…when you fell from heaven?”
“that’s a great one! be sure to say it with a really thick french accent. i heard girls find it charming.” charles gave him a playful wink, shooing him off. “now go get your lady!”
hesitantly, hugo walked over to you, giving himself motivational pep talks in his mind. i can do this! he thought. you were engaged in a conversation with chigiri, and a part of him felt bad for interrupting, but it’s now or never and he really needed those rumors to stop!
tapping you on your shoulder, you turned your head to face him, eyes widening. “…did it hurt when you fell from heaven?”
silence.
uh oh… did i do something wrong?
chigiri snickered, which turned into full blown laughter while your face turned red in an instant. “oh uhm…” you started, voice quiet, avoiding his eyes.
“i’ll give you two some space. bye y/n.” chigiri patted your shoulder, then dashed off. this traitor! now you’re left in an uncomfortable situation with hugo, who seemed indifferent about this whole thing which made everything even worse. taking your hands in his. he looked into your eyes with a look you can’t quite explain. reluctantly, you looked back. were his eyes always this dark and his burgundy hair always this pretty? you are going to die!
“be my girlfriend. we’re destined to be together.” he said, as if he’s not rearranging your entire world.
“what are you talking about?” you muttered, embarrassed. yes, you have a tiny crush on him, but this was all too much to comprehend!
“i like you. it’s love at first sight. please be my girlfriend.”
“you don’t even know my name.”
“yes i do. i heard it from chigiri. y/n right? please be mine.” gosh! how were you supposed to deny him when he’s acting all sweet like this!
“but we don’t know anything about each other…” the rational part of you is trying to reason with the impulsive side. it’s a stalemate.
“then let’s go on a date tomorrow.”
suddenly, a blonde boy appeared behind hugo, putting his arm around his shoulder. “charles what are you doing here?” hugo whispered.
“helping you out! obviously!” he not so whispered back. he switched his attention towards you. his smile reminded you of a cheshire cat. “yo! please give my boy hugo a chance! i promise he’s a really nice guy!”
“uhm—”
“when he saw you he had like genuine heart eyes! and he’s never shown that to anyone except for loki—ow!” hugo elbowed him in his side, silently telling him to cut it out.
“jolie, please give me a chance.” maybe you’re crazy and moving way too fast…but what’s the worst that can happen…right?
“okay fine…i’ll be your girlfriend.” you swear his eyes started sparkling.
“YESSSS!!!!” charles screamed out in joy, attracting the team, cheerleaders, and students. he patted hugo’s back, running around frantically.
amidst the chaos ensued, hugo only looked at your face, making you slightly nervous. “is there…something on my face?”
“yes. beauty.” you started to heat up, looking away.
“are you always this straightforward? you’re gonna make me have a heart attack…” you waited for a response, but none came. you glanced back, seeing how his eyes were trained on you, particularly…your lips?!
“…what are you looking at?”
“chérie, may i…kiss you?” he must be experienced because how is he this good!
contemplating, you eventually decided to yolo. you’d be lying if you said you didn’t want a taste too. “yes—”
you were immediately cut off by the press of his lips against yours. one hand moved to your waist and the other to the back of your head, locking you in place. gasps and shouts emerged, but the only thing you can focus on was him. although one particular screech did catch your attention, which you’re pretty sure was charlotte’s.
easing into the kiss, you closed your eyes, tilting your head and resting your arms around his neck. your lips moved in rhythm with his, passionate yet sweet and gentle. shortly after, you broke away for air, looking up at his clouded eyes.
“sorry. was that too much?” he lifted a hand, fingers caressing your cheek tenderly. you shook your head and smiled shyly.
“MY BOY HUGO HAS GAME!!!! HE GOT HIMSELF A GIRLFRIEND YAY!!!” charles came out of nowhere and jumped onto hugo’s back, slightly scaring you. hugo sighed, stabilizing him while saying a soft sorry to you.
looking around, you see everyone’s eyes on the three of you, with chigiri staring in surprise, the rest of the team watching in amusement, the cheerleaders gossiping, the students recording, and, best of all…charlotte beaumont gawking at you in shock, sadness, jealousy…and rage? you couldn’t care less to be honest because now you’ve got yourself your dream guy.
the following weeks was absolutely wild. the moment you walked into the building, people surrounded you asking if you really were dating THE vivian hugo. you said yes and walked away. the football team started coming up to you too as the day went on, and you climbed the popularity rankings quite far. but really, who cares about any of that? when you saw hugo at his lockers, you immediately called out his name.
“vivian!” as if on command, his head perked instantly, features softening when you came running over to him.
“hey, mon amour. what’s got you so excited?” he put his arm around your waist, tugging you closer on instinct.
you smiled, leaning your head on his shoulder. “oh nothing. i’m just happy to see you, that’s all.”
he kissed your temple sweetly. “i’m happy to see you too.”
“AWHHHH!!!”
“oh god not this again…” you groaned.
“hugo and y/n sitting on a tree! k-i-s-s-i-n-g!” charles began to sing, and even though you both claim to be annoyed, neither of you made a move to stop him.

"oh c'mon, just confess! what's the worst he could say?" a friend spoke as she leaned forward in her chair, just a breath away from stealing your first kiss. flinching, you stumbled back and crashed into a stack of chairs in the corner of the classroom as they all came crashing down. "hey! i plan to keep my feelings hidden, it's not worth the risk." you said, rubbing your head. your friend scoffed and rolled her eyes.
"yeah, but it's better to try than sit here and let your potential boyfriend pass you by!"
"key word: potential!" you chirped, face flustered as you quickly scrambled to stand up and fix the chairs that you knocked down. "plus, i don't even think he sees me as, like, girlfriend potential anyway..." you looked over to the girl you were currently conversing with, your response drawing a heavy sigh from her lips.
"doubting your worth, as always..." she rubbed her temple. "look, i owe you 50 bucks for that new textbook you needed money for or whatever if you're right and he rejects you. does that sound like a deal—"
"deal!" you exclaimed immediately.
when the bell rang, you fixed your askew glasses and ushered yourself out of the classroom with your school bag dangling from one hand. honestly, you were scared about how this was about to play out.
catching a glimpse of your target, you hid behind a wall, peeking your head out from around the corner to watch his every move.
"maybe the 50 isn't worth it..." you softly whispered. "awh, who am i kidding!? i could win 50 and my dream boyfriend, for crying out loud!"
a few heads turned, and you couldn't help but sheepishly hide away from their curious gazes. when you took one step forward, your legs did a complete 180 and led you somewhere else.
"nevermind, it wouldn't be best if i acted on it right now! the best way would be to talk to him more... but— oh, this is hard!"

karasu sighed, his finger trailing a word ahead as he read the sentence to himself in the warm, cozy library just down the hall from your class. you pushed the doors open and were met with lifted heads before turning your attention to the staff.
"i'm here to return this book."
the librarian nodded and hummed, taking the hard-covered book out of your grasp.
"thank you for being a responsible child, but that's what i've always expected from a girl like yourself."
you softly chuckled at her words before bowing down slightly. "i thank you."
karasu's deep blue eyes followed your movement, analyzing, before going back to the book in front of him.
moments later, he felt a presence beside him. glancing to his right, you were just staring at him. he raised an eyebrow before turning his head toward you, and of course, you were still gawking at him like he was meat.
"what?" when he spoke, it was sharp and quick, striking you through the heart.
"uhm..."
"...hi... my name is—"
"never asked." he retorted, turning his attention toward the material on the table instead.
he shut that down real quick, making your eyebrows furrow. "i know you didn't? i just thought that maybe i should—"
he interrupted you.
"well, ya thought wrong."
the expression on your face gave away your discomfort and mild irritation toward his attitude, but he clearly didn't give a damn.
"wow, rude..."
"maybe yer jus' sensitive?"
"and maybe i am, then what?" you snapped back, a pout apparent on your lips.
"don't care." he scoffed as he gave you a side-long glance.
"now can ya leave me alone? 'm tryin' to do somethin' here." karasu said, about to go back to the book he was reading, only to see that it was gone. he looked at you, the book now in your hand. "'scuse me?"
"you're excused, including from reading this book."
karasu watched you as you got up, attempting to walk away with his book. his hand shot out to grab the back of your shirt and tug you back into the seat next to him, your shoulder bumping against his as he leaned in closer to yank his book from your grip.
"that wasn't cute," he spoke lowly, his breath brushing against your ear and sending a tingle down your spine.
heat bloomed in your cheeks, and your pulse hammered against your ribs. shoving you, you smoothly glided off the hard wooden chair and onto the rough carpet, blinking innocently in shock.
his blue eyes eased onto your figure, fingers brushing against the pages of the book as he spoke.
"black?"
"huh? wha?" you inquired, lashes brushing your flushed cheeks.
your head gradually followed his gaze, which was trained on what was peeking out from under your hiked-up skirt. yanking it down, heat rushed to your face as you yelped, "hey!"
it only made the side of his mouth twitch upward before easing into a smirk.

"heyyyyy, sooo?" your friend jogged up to you and said, wrapping an arm around your slumped shoulders.
"humiliating. never again."
your friend looked lost before humming in acknowledgment.
"oh, neat. so you got rejected? by the way, i was just lying about me—"
"no! i didn't get rejected! i didn't even confess to him yet!"
she held back a snort, hair blowing in the cold breeze as the leaves of the trees swayed in a careful rhythm. the afternoon sky faded into a gorgeous dusky pink while you guys approached the school's gates.
"hah, so why's he walking up to us right now?" both of you paused and quietly freaked out.
"he's walking to you!"
you shook your head at your friend's statement, hands weakly gripping the material of her shirt as you shook her.
"no, i'm going to say no even though that is the most logical answer right now!"
"yo," karasu said, one hand raised while the other stayed tucked in the pocket of his droopy pants.
"don't you think those pants are too saggy?" you couldn't help but comment, shrieking when his eyes landed on your much softer ones.
"are ya gonna nag me about it too?" head tilted, gaze pointed.
blood rushed to your cheeks once more with the prolonged eye contact. your friend bit her lip before clearing her throat and backing up.
"gee, look at this— i gotta go. i'll leave you two to be..."
"no, WE'RE both leaving!!" dragging her by the arm, you screamed those words out. he stared blankly at your departing back, his hand rising with agonizing slowness.
i’m still rocking your hoodie and chewing on the strings - ex!hugo texts
starring : ex!vivian hugo and reader
contents: angst no comfort, secret relationship(?), reader yearns for hugo, drinking/getting drunk, charles and loki cameos, jealousy
notes: they’re supposed to be in no contact btw. also pretend that y/n’s hoodie has hugo’s number & franchesca is beside her. maybe part 2 but idk how to continue this like this did not meet my expectations
it’s the smallest things about vivien hugo that you love !
warm streaks of the sun cascaded through the curtains as you and vivien shuffled around the apartment silently, boxes crowding the wooden floors. the new matching rings on both of your fingers glimmered, a sign of your recent wedding.
and now, it was time for you both to move out. vivien’s bedroom was the last room that needed to be packed, and unfortunately, he was a total hoarder.
“each item is a reminder of fate,” he tried to convince you, standing in front of the trash can so you wouldn’t throw away his old chewed on pencil from middle school. “they represent my development as destiny kept on pushing me forward.”
you rolled your eyes. “vivien, maybe just let me handle your room. i’ll make sure not to throw away anything football related.” he pressed his lips into a thin line, not wanting to argue with you.
so there vivien sat, crossed legged on the cold wooden floor while he stared at you rummaging through his desk. “you’ve still got stuff from pre-school in here…” he heard you mumble as you picked up a few coloring books. you shook your head.
eventually, you reached his high school drawer, with dozens of notebooks upon notebooks stacked on each other. “do you still need these? you’re a pro-athlete now after all.”
vivien slid over and he glanced over your shoulder. “you can check. maybe some of them, just to keep common sense.” you nodded, beginning to flip open some of the spiraled notebooks.
after a good five minutes or so of scanning through chemistry notes, you suddenly paused. “what the—“ you stared at the page in front of you, with the same words over and over again.
your name. written in a variety of different pens and colors and thickness—some red, some blue, some black, some barely visible. but what you noticed was how neat your name was written compared to the sloppily written notes about diatomic numbers and hydrogen gas.
“vivien, uh, what, huh?” you sputtered. did you marry some sort of stalker? you blinked, eyes darting from the page to vivien.
he looked at the page. “i used to write your name in order to test out pens.” he said, expressionless. for a moment, you didn’t move. you didn’t react at all, actually. you didn’t know if you should sigh or cry.
you chose the latter, and tears began to pool at your eyes. “don’t cry over something like this,” vivien muttered, wiping your tears with the pad of his thumb and kissing your cheek. “it’s barely even a cog in our fates.”
“it makes me happy that i was the first thing you thought of.” you sniffled. vivien shrugged, picking up a stray pen from the floor and reaching over to the notebook.
“there’s something i need to fix though.” he began to scribble on the page again, line after line. a rush of crimson bloomed on your cheeks, as did a grin.
on every name of yours he wrote, he added “hugo” at the end.
“it’s ridiculous how i didn’t predict how we would be married in the future, even though that’s the only logical answer for our fates.” vivien tsked, tossing away the pen.
you didn’t reply, instead cupping his cheeks and pulling him into a kiss.
