Hello all! I’ve been on writeblr a few months; but, it’s a new year and I changed my url.

about me:

I’m Flavia (she/her), a 25 year old freelance editor/writer mainly writing fantasy, mysteries, poetry, and short stories. I started writing young and also cut my teeth on fanfiction. While I still do fanfic on the side, a lot of my energy is now put into original projects. Some of my shorter work’s been published, and my goal is to work as an editor for a publishing house and write myself.

My main WIP is a NA paranormal mystery novel that I’ll make an intro post for soon and draws heavily on my love of magic, travel, and murder. ^^ I also love dark academia, journaling, too many fandoms, and I recently started making edits! If you love that stuff and want to scream about aesthetics and fictional characters, check my main @bardolatrycore (where I’ll follow you from).

Last Line Tag

I would like to thank @crystallized-ink for the tag! This excerpt is from a separate WIP of mine, as Nocturne is far too much in a baby stage to even have a last line. 

The flames licked at the edges of her life. Could one even call it a life when each alias was gifted to the fire as quickly as they were created? In a few millennia the sun itself would burn up and swell; it would consume everything in its path in a final act of rebellion. She would still be there to watch it. Would that become her final moment? Or would the flames kiss her with their burning touch, making promises to still leave her unmarked; surrounded by the blackened heart of the galaxy.

Project: Nocturne

Throughout time, we have had several different names. One in particular crops up more than any other, the simple brand of ‘witch.’ It evokes fear. It is the very name given to those that used magic for their own maleficence. Thus began the worst period in our history. Then Nocturne was born.

Working Title-- Project: Nocturne POV-- first person (for now) Status-- brainstorming, discovery writing 1st draft Themes-- magic, witches, dark academia, lost history, survival, secret societies 

Summary-- Centuries have past since the witch trials but the witches have not recovered; so much was lost to the pyre. Nocturne was built as their sanctuary. Deep underground London’s own streets lies the archives of the witches. As families were lost, along with their knowledge, the keepers of Nocturne tried to preserve what it could. These lone witches became a family themselves and, as time passed, new life was born into the archives.

Genevieve, more commonly known as Genie, is a 14th generation Nocturne witch. Her task is simple: preserve the witches history. However, with new blood comes new ideas. One simple plan could solve everything: to recover what was lost. It sounds simple.  It isn’t. Delving into history is reckless. It is suicide. The risk is too great for the reward  to be worth anything.  Those words became the pied piper’s song.

Author Note-- Nocturne is still in the planning stages, so I have tried to keep the summary more bareboned in order for things not to change drastically. I will update with a more fleshed-out idea soon!

Hello writeblr! I’m May, I’m 24 and use she/her pronouns. I’m very stereotypically, tea-drinking English. I am an aspiring author, who is using the lockdowns to her advantage by putting words on paper (or at least typed on a laptop) for a change. I’m creating this blog in order to be a part of a community and have a little accountability with my writing (I have a goal to have something, anything published by 2022.) 

I love all things fantasy. Whether it be magical realism, all the way to epic series. However, my true loves are the occult and dark academia.  I am also a massive reader. My “library” is taking over my room. Send me any book recs you can think of, I am always looking for something new. 

I am currently working on a (surprise, surprise) witch/dark academia novel with a working title of Nocturne. I am going to be making a WIP intro post for this later on so I won’t spill all the details yet.
