When Flash and Felicia find out about Gene's behavior it's not pretty. The yelling and the punishments don't phase him nearly as much as Flashs' reaction to his son being a bully. As much as May likes the idea of Gene finally getting in trouble she can't stand to see Flash so broken over history repeating it's self despite his best efforts. Since it's the only thing to upset Gene everyone's hopeful that it's not too late to turn his life around.

Reilly was mad at Kaine for turning him into a demon. Not nearly as mad being abandoned by the only real family he ever had. Because the lab was his first real home & the first time he felt loved. So yes he's hurt because other than Matt Kaine is the only father-figure in his life. Kaine left because he thought he ruined Reillys' life enough & he was better off without him. Now he tries not to coddle him but he still sees Reilly as his kid & doesn't like sharing him.

Darkdevils' torture from Nobody changed things. Kaine knew Weadon wouldn't lift a finger to treat DD so he took care of him. This brought them closer again & made Reilly think he might be able to forgive him. Normie & Foggy noticed Reilly Tyne's absence. While this was covered up Foggy is the only one that didn't buy the reasoning. It's hard to keep in denial when the kid he mentored was targeted in both IDs by the same guy. Not to mention hearing about Venom/Darkdevil situation.

Foggy Nelson isn't dumb. While he's closer to Normie now he knows there's things his stepson doesn't tell him. Knows that there's more to Reilly Tyne but pretends to be dim for them. Not just for their sake but for his since he's not sure he can go through more loss after Matts' death. He loves Normie and truly likes Reilly though. If either asked him for more than legal advise he'd be willing to open old wounds to help them.
