Remembering the King.
The thrill is gone. Long live the King.
Nice cover by Buddy. It so happens that Clapton told Buddy that the lick from this song had been borrowed from a Buddy Guy song.
Bo Diddley
Happy Mother's Day!
These are not the eyes you want to be getting.
Let's go hobo'in with John Lee Hooker.
Born on this day: May 8, 1911 - Iconic blues singer, songwriter and guitarist Robert Johnson (born Robert Leroy Johnson in Hazlehurst, MS). Happy Birthday to one of the most influential musicians of the twentieth century on what would have been his 104th Birthday.
Here's a great resource if you ever plan on touring the Delta and surrounding historic blues hotspots.
In honor of Mr. King tonight. Hoping the best for his days ahead.
A statement from BB King's facebook that was released less than an hour ago. Sad news to hear. Hoping the best for Mr. King and his family and fans.
McKinley “Muddy Waters” Morganfield (April 4, 1913 – April 30, 1983),

Good day, blues fans! In case you find yourself somewhere where you rather not be (i.e. at work, on the road, with an angry wife, etc.), then throw on some Muddy Waters and wash them blues away.
Let's play some blues... I won't go into great detail, but this is my lucky case of harps. Long story short, I once made the mistake of driving off with these sitting on top of my truck after a show. They were found by someone in a neighboring town. After a year of coincedences, they were eventually returned. It was one of the happiest days of my life.
Next time you're down in the Delta, I'd highly recommend a visit to the BB King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center in Indianola, MS. This place is very well put together and features a lot of great exhibits. While in Indianola, also check out the Ebony Lounge (also owned by Mr. King). It's a great local staple that's been around for several generations.
Electric Mayhem all the way.
Some fantastic folk blues with Sonny and Brownie. First time I heard Sonny Terry, I nearly gave up on harp, because I know there's no way I'd ever be that good. Fortunately, I talked myself out of it. Throw in this album and enjoy!
