“No I’m just glad I have you,” Molly admitted, squeezing her best friend’s hand briefly. “Now let’s go give out water to everybody. It may sound stupid but it’s important to keep hydrated especially at a time like this. We can’t have people dropping left and right due to dehydration.”

Lily wasn’t sure what to do. Her first instinct was to find her family, but then she was worrying about her friends and Diagon Alley was so dark. People were scrambling and she was knocked out of her panicked thoughts as someone bumped into her. “Are you alright?” She wondered, quickly turning to them.
“Oh my Godric,” Molly gasped, spinning around and putting her hands on Lily’s shoulders. “I can’t believe it’s really you. I’m so glad to see you in one piece. Now let’s get the hell out of here, Lil. We’ll find everyone else on the way out.”

She smirked, “We’ll see about that. It was supposed to be his resolution last year, I’m pretty sure. We see how well that’s gone.” Cassie pouted at Molly’s suggested alternative. “Honestly, that sounds so much better. I’m so not one for these types of parties. Except the dresses are nice, I guess.” She got another drink. “How was your Christmas? Chaotic as usual?”
“Resolution? Nobody follows those,” Molly replied with a slight laugh. She personally couldn’t recall a single resolution she’d pulled through on.
“It’s settled then -- next time we’re dressing up nice and curling up and watching movies. How’s that sound?” she suggested with a grin. “Christmas? Chaotic, yes. That’s a perfect way to put it. But still enjoyable. And yours?”

“Did the queen of fashion just compliment my outfit? I mean seriously I love your clothes so this is the best compliment I have received.” Rose smiled. “Your dress is gorgeous as well if you couldn’t tell.”
“Queen of fashion? Well that’s awfully kind of you, Ro. I’m honored. Although I’d argue I’m not the best dressed Weasley-Potter girl there is, but I’ll still take the compliment.”

“It may be an excuse not to dance, but it doesn’t mean that it’s not the truth.” Lucy’s eyes widened dramatically as her elder sister took hold of her hands, “No, no Molly, please don’t make me.”
“La la la la la,” Molly sung, dragging Lucy along and beginning to spin them around in a small circle, “I can’t hear you!”

“Well hopefully that doesn’t happen.” He laughed. “Partially because I’m not that strong and would only be able to carry you short distances. Especially because I can’t use magic outside of school to help me.”
“You gotta have faith in yourself, Hu. But I hope it doesn’t happen either.”

“This is what I get for trying something new,” Amata admitted, turning her gaze back to the glass in question. “I probably shouldn’t be drinking tonight anyways.”
“Oh really? And why not?”

“Hmmm, probably because I can’t Molly. There is no rhythm in me.”
“Oh please. That sounds like an excuse if I’ve ever heard one,” Molly rolled her eyes playfully, getting up and taking Lucy’s hands in hers. “We’re doing this together. I’m going to show you that you can dance.”

She smirked and shook her head, “Eh, I guess. It’s not as bad as last year’s. I had to almost forcibly drag Albus out because he was so drunk, and I haven’t gotten to that point yet, so.” Cassie nodded at her. “You having any fun?”
“If he pulls some shit like that again just leave him to his own devices. He needs to stop getting so drunk that everybody has to baby him all the time,” Molly groaned with a roll of her eyes. “Yeah, it’s nice. I do sort of wish I was curled up watching a movie right now, but it is nice to dress up all sparkly for a night too.”

“If you say so! But now I’m not gonna help you later, even if you’re so drunk you can’t even walk.” He paused, “Ok that’s a lie, I’d totally help. But I’d say ‘I told you so’ the entire time!”
“You have absolute permission to tell me ‘I told you so’ the entire time. 100% Hu. If I get that drunk I can’t walk, I’ll deserve that sort of calling out.”

“I don’t remember you ever telling me why you don’t dance. So I’m listening. Why not?”

“That’s very sweet of you Hu, but I can take care of myself. I promise you don’t need to worry about me.”
“I’m going to need a few more of these if I want to make it to midnight.”

“I guess it’s not too bad. I would much prefer a nice night in, watching some movies or something... but this is nice too. Are you excited for the New Year?”

“I mean I much prefer the champagne,” Molly insisted, holding up her own glass.
