‘ oh god, noodle darling- what’s wrong !? ’
mother dearest had come as fast as her legs could bring her, then lets out a panicked noise at the scene before her-
her daughter was bleeding- she needs to act quickly.
she has the ability to heal it herself, she knows this- but would magic make her a lazy parent, relying on it to fix all her problems ? would it negatively affect noodle ?
honestly, that isn’t what’s important right now, so odelina simply rushes over to her child and brings her into loving arms, then moves her hands onto the opened stitch wounds atop her noggin.
‘ this might burn for just a moment sweetheart, but i promise you’re gonna be okay- just trust in mama, she’ll help you- ’
while calming voice soothes the heart, increasing temperature in hands work as magic closes the wound and rids scalp of useless staples and stitches- it’ll take her a few minutes, as healing others wore her out more than healing herself did.
She stood still, her eyes closed tightly as she waited for her mom’s arrival. There was not a doubt in the child’s mind that she would come to help her, even before she heard her voice reply to her from the other room. She had to be brave. Her mother knew magic - so she could help!
Noodle flinched as she heard Odelina’s gasp, wondering if what she had accidentally done was worse than she thought. The hand that had been holding onto her helmet released its grip leaving it to clatter loudly on the floor as she clenched her teeth in worry.
But the warmth of the arms that wrapped around her loosened was comforting, and she attempted to hold onto mom’s arm with a shaky grip. She didn’t understand. Why was this happening?
Even with the warning ahead of time, the burning sensation on her scalp unsettled her. Her memories had been erased, but it was impossible to remove the trauma she had lived with beforehand. Her breath hitched, her hands reaching up to grab the sleeves about her head; trembling as she held on.
“It’s the last time….dad said it was the last time…”
fathers. fathers were SCUM. they abandon their daughters in their times of need, leave them when they’ve used them to their full extent, or no longer accept them as what they are-
‘ fuck. him. ’
whoa, oh wow- she actually cursed in front of her daughter. odelina !
‘ oh- i mean- my bad darling, my bad. but what kind of monster just- just leaves a child on her own like this ? what kind of father lets this happen to a child ?? it isn’t right- he sounds no better than my parents. if he ever tries to force his way into your life again, i’ll kill him. . . . ’
after a moment of reflective silence, odelina lifts her hands- the wounds are closed and clean, but thats as far as her ability comes- if she could fully heal the wounds on her daughter, she would. . . she could help close the emotional ones, though.
‘ it is the last time- i won’t let you be hurt anymore, and if you ever find yourself wounded, i’m here to heal you. as your mother, i promise it. ’
