Just remember Dream, you're just an object. You're not a person. Once you entered that prison, you lost your right to be a person, to be a player. You're just an object now. An object that Sam and Quackity can do what they want with. Objects don't have feelings so suck it up.

Thematic Headcanons. | Accepting hc + 👪 for a family-themed headcanon

Depending on the family, he has different perspectives on them. So, to go by that-

XD; XD is his twin brother, but despite that he only has vague memories regarding him. Vague memories of his time in the heavens as well. Mostly cause of XD taking control of his body at points. His thoughts on him aren't positive. He knows something is wrong. And because he was thrown out of the heavens and grew up all over again as a player, he is riddled with anxiety (separation and regular), loneliness, and difficulty with forming secure attachments. But when they were little, before he became a player, they were as close as one can be. Having a bond that could never be severed. Though it all changed when him and Tubbo went against XD's plan. Drista; Drista and him have a common older brother/little sister relationship. He finds her annoying, but she made sure he never forgot her. He cares for her but knows she's far more powerful than she lets on, so he won't go out of his way to keep her safe from a mob. She's a god so, there's like no reason to, right? Foolish and Captain Puffy; Foolish and Puffy are Dream's adoptive family. Because of that, and for the need to make a secure attachment even if it's not exactly what he wanted he cared deeply for them. Even keeping his plan secret from them to prevent them from being found out and hurt. He has a close relationship and in private will call Puffy mom. Sometimes in the prison he dreams about Foolish and Puffy. He misses them. He would do anything to protect them, such as never calling them his family in front of the other server members even if Sam, Bad, Skeppy, George, Sapnap, and Callahan all knew that Foolish and Puffy were his adoptive family. Puffy was the first to give Dream his mask. A simple carved wooden mask that he could use to hide his face. The reason was to help with the fear of people staring at him, his scopophobia. A fond memory he tries to remember in the prison was his tenth birthday when Foolish built Dream and his friends a treehouse to hang out in and Puffy taught him how to first use a bow. The cake was Chocolate, and it was the first day he didn't wear his mask for the whole day. Punz, Purpled; XD wasn't entirely heartless when he threw Dream out of the heavens. He did genetically change Dream's code to have some biological cousins on the overworld. Punz and Purpled being those biological cousins. Dream didn't know it though. No, how could he if he never accesses their code. He has a strict rule that he wouldn't go into other players codes as an admin. That's something Puffy instilled in him. But the day he did accidentally found out because of a visit from XD, he sought them out, inviting them to the server. IT was Punz first and then Purpled. He became closer to Punz, if only for the similar ages. Dream kept his family ties hidden from other server members. He did come out to Punz about the information but made the other promise to keep it secret. Just like he did with Puffy and Foolish, he hid these ties with Punz and Purpled out of their own safety.

He is extremely loyal to his family. Their safety is always something he holds over his own safety.
