he wouldn’t ever want to lose her trust. mostly because he knew how hard it was for him to open up. realizing that she’d done the same for him meant a lot. that being said, he was still going to tease her relentlessly. that was just who he was as a person. was he really angel almeida if he wasn’t trying to push someone’s buttons ? it wasn’t his fault that her reactions were so funny. a smug little grin danced on his features at her grumbling, and it isn’t long until a laugh follows suit, slipping past his lips without a second thought. “you’re right. not funny— fuckin’ hilarious.” he corrects, “and then you went to my room to pout about it to mia.” he recounts, giving his head a small shake, “adorable, really. you’re a real brat when you don’t get what you want.”

the frown that took over her features exuded more bratty, pouty child energy than actual hurt or anger. and as she looked up at him with those puppy dog eyes she just gripped his hand tighter. marnie was never good with people teasing her, she took everything personally, with angel though she could take it 99% of the time. there was something about the way he taunted her and pushed her buttons that still screamed you are safe. “rude,” she utters, her head leaning against his shoulder. “i can’t believe my own boyfriend hates me,” she gasps over-dramatically completely playing it up because, well, she knew he didn’t hate her so she could joke about it without caution.
