I have a theory what if Aether exists it’s just moving at a significant fraction of the speed of light so like when the portal open it instantly moves away imperceptibly fast (you need to stay in the portal for a bit to go to the nether so that also applies for aether). In that case it would also fit the name “aether” since it means eternal and unchanging in Aristotelian cosmology (time dilation so aether would appear unchanging in the frame of the earth.

In my very ooc version, Egg came from aether to learn more about human and demons and is pretty crazy strong (he’s the immortal hostage lmao). He’s not very sensitive to things like getting hurt (bc he doesn’t) and emotions (bc he’s not human, or just nonchalant lol). Which would be a fun conflict to explore bc Wemmbu (pit fighter in the AU who basically cannot think of anything else he would be good at) is problematic when it comes to both :P
