hear me out… the kneeling scene, specifically hinting at a missed opportunity for a proposal is so peak because that’s how karedevil work. they do know how to express their love with the vulnerability of wording it now but they also have always been about unsaid truths, mutual and quiet understandings which is their intimacy in a way.

it makes sense there was no proposal per se, they didn’t have time, they had spent months leading a resistance group lol. however there is a fundamental image here, in the setting, that for karen, matt will get down on his knees and pray same way she will do it for him while they’re apart, no questions asked if it saves the other. yes they didn’t get ‘there’ explicitly but they do know without putting the conventional gesture on it that they belong to one another. *walks out and immediately gets taken to the no DDBA til 2027 psych ward*
