peter knows more about manhattan than any person living there.

this guy. he knows every small-time deli, diner, bodega, food-cart owner in the city. he knows their name, the original locations of their restaurants, which ones shut down, which ones relocated, which ones got to open chains. he knows their stories, their relatives’ names, their shitty exes, their new partners. he’s seen countless baby pictures, pet a lot of cats, scratched a lot of dogs. he’s been set up with way too many daughters, sons, nephews, nieces. he knows like a gazillion secret handshakes with a whole handful of different cashiers and waiters and waitresses.

he knows the best indian places, the best chinese places, the best thai places. he knows which places give the best discounts, which ones do takeout, how late each one stays open. when he knows a place is struggling, he directs people over there to get some good grub, a little offhanded comment. but spidey endorsements are like gold, especially to tourists. their business helps the city stay afloat. when a place needs hiring or extra help, he works directly with FEAST, giving homeless people jobs and small businesses an extra pair of hands.

and here’s the thing. they all love him. so many of them give spider-man free food whenever he stops by because he’s just so very friendly. they pile extra on his plate. they sneak in a free drink and side dish when he insists on paying.

community is where he got his “friendly neighbourhood” nickname from. that’s his city. those are his people. all of them.

Harley was Tony's first child. He was like the kid who he had with a one night stand. He knew about the kid, paid child support (the garage), maybe cared a little bit, but he wasn't really his dad.

Peter? Peter was the eldest kid in a legitimate, serious relationship. He was the practice child, the first pancake of the official batch. He was the one Tony would sacrifice to get the next ones to come out right.

Morgan was in the best possible position in the order of children. Tony would come out into the garden to play with her, correct bad behavior with gentleness rather than a life-threatening overreaction, and make sure she knew he loved her at every available moment.

She didn't get that amazing dad for long, though.

None of them did.

So obviously it's referring to how in Spiderman: Homecoming, we get to see clips of the battle during Civil War from Peter's pov on his phone.

But taking this and making it Infinity War??? It's got my writer brain buzzing! Just imagine:

-As he jumps out the window of the bus after seeing the spaceship hovering over New York, you get really shaky footage of him swinging towards the chaos, along with "Looks like aliens are invading.. again. Except this time they're using a Giant Metal Donut as a ship? Honestly thought it would look much cooler. Star Wars did it better." He gets to the scene of Tony getting his ass handed to him by the alien gorilla thing "Oh- there's Mr. Stark! And.. he's.. I think he insulted one of the aliens, I need to go help him- I'll be back in a second" Video ends

-As Peter, in the brand new Iron Spider suit, sneaks onto the alien space ship after Tony thinks he got sent back to Earth, narrating breathlessly "So.. change of plan.. I am now on the spaceship that is apparently owned by an alien that looks like Squidward.. did not see that coming. He hit me with a metal sign too.. not cool.. head still hurts a bit from that. But anyways.. I gotta help Mr. Stark find this wizard guy before Squidward gets the necklace from him." Theres a crash and the camera turns to where we see Tony making his way onto the ship. "There's Mr. Stark.. okay.. thank God.. thought it might've been something else. Uh.. ok. I'll be back." Video ends.

-Next video starts with some scenery of the debris on Titan. "Alright.. so.. lotta stuff happened.. uh.. saved the wizard.. was made an Avenger, met a small team of space heroes?" The camera flips around to Peter, zooming in over his shoulder as Quill is speaking to Tony, while Drax and Mantis do their own thing "I Was briefly taken hostage.. but we're cool now. They're led by some human.. I think.. called Starlord or something. He thinks Footloose is the greatest movie of all time for some reason? I don't think he's seen Star Wars.. then there's a weird bug girl.. and some buff alien guy" Camera focuses on Peter again. "But we're all on the same side. Apparently we have to now fight another big purple alien named Thanos to keep him from getting Dr. Strange's necklace.." We hear Tony summon Peter over to the conversation "Ok, duty calls.. gotta go-" Video ends

-Video starts with the face of a roughed up Peter, catching his breath, a bit of blood on his face. "So.. bad news.. we lost.. uh.. let's just say Thanos has a really powerful rock collection.. kinda handed our asses to us.. uh.." We see Peter space out for a second, then blink and rub his temple, looking around. "Ok.. somethings not right.. uh.." We see him start to walk over to Tony before staggering, his gaze no longer focused on the camera "Mr. Stark? I don't feel so good." Peter staggers once more "I don't know.. I don't know what's happening. I don't.." the phone falls to the ground with a clatter, the phone facedown on the ground, the video dark as we hear Peter in the background, begging with Tony, his voice breaking as he starts to cry. "I don't wanna go, I don't wanna go, sir, please. Please, I don't wanna go. I don't wanna go." There's a muffled thud, then quiet for a few seconds followed by an. "I'm sorry" Theres quiet for a long time, the phone still facedown, the screen dark, before Nebula speaks "He did it." There's more quiet for awhile, until the phone is shakily lifted up, the camera screen cracked, but showing Tony's tearstained face looking at the camera for a few seconds. The video ends
