#this is like genuinely my interpretation tho dear god #hes playing his stupid spiderman game and it is 1000% protecting his brain from the realities of his situation #eventually it will all come crashing down.#his complete nonchalance in s1 abt his parents trying to attack him reaaaally goes to show he just hasnt registered the threats in his life #as REAL yet. it does not occur to him that his parents could actually hit a shot and that's real #ofc in reality trip he's woken up to that a bit more but even so he ends off like 'oh they love me im safe now' forgetting they could get a #lucky shot and kill him before he has a chance to explain. literally this entire show is SO unreliable narrator where all the levity comes #from him being 14 and having no understanding of the reality around him that he is NOT INVINCIBLE #he's literally that 'all kids think theyre invincir' stereotype in the absolute worst situation (thinks hes a superhero)#that boy is gonna die. for real this time #dp #danny fenton #also personally very latched onto sam's line: 'a boy and his dog... somehow it's not supposed to be this freaky.' bc it implies she can see #a 'freakiness' we can't. prob bc we're in danny's pov and he doesn't see himself like that. and also she only says it out of earshot Like..#anyway 'unreliable narrator' explains everything in this show. to me. it's why there's so much horror in the cracks but not on the surface #and why so little is explored. bc danny isnt thinking abt that so neither are you👍
