//heyooo...ah, *ahem*...Hi guys. It’s been awhile. I oughtta come clean with y’all and that’s that it’s been a long time since I’ve been really into D:BH, like compared to how things were when I first made this blog. I love Henry, and for awhile D:BH was like, a really huge hyperfixation of might. It helped me through tough times, especially when it came to rping on here and meeting new people and it’s just...ehhhh. I’ve drifted away from it, slowly but surely, but I really can not for the life of me remember the last time I ever spoke to anyone about the game itself, or even used Henry for a thread.

So, here it goes: I’m putting Henry on the shelf. I love him to pieces, I love what I’ve created from him, but it wouldn’t be fair to just not come to terms with stuff. I might revamp him some time in the future as a non-D:BH character, who knows, really? The same goes for all of my other D:BH related blogs as well.

roleplaying, for me, is about exploring characters and worlds through story. It’s always a good idea to talk to me if you’re uncertain and it will be easier once we know each other better, but I just wanted to put this out there so you lot know what I’m comfortable with. There’s a lot of ‘no godmodding whatsoever!!’ going around in this community and obviously, with big things, it’s a no-go – but I’m still more interested in the story.

She slips her hands in her pockets with a sigh. Somehow, she figured telling him she’s a detective wouldn’t pan over well. Her eyes locked on the thirium staining through his shirt. Would he be stubborn enough to let himself deactivate? Wait, why the hell did she even care? Harper had done her part and now he was being a dick. She should just be on her way now.

“Really doesn’t look like you’ve handled yourself that well…-all offense intended,” she shrugged, “but fine, you don’t want an olive branch, less issue for me.” The detective met his scowl with one of her own. “The hero scene isn’t really my forte, no. Guess I should have let you get beaten all to hell?” Her tone is drenched in sarcasm.

She could feel herself on the end of her rope. She was exhausted in the first place and now that the adrenaline was wearing thin, her body was feeling this extra effort. “Shit,” she rubs her face with her hands, leaning against the nearby wall.

“Getting beaten all to hell would’ve been better than talking to you right now at this rate, if I’m being honest.” Henry replied in a snarky tone, smirking to himself for a moment before it disappeared at seeing the woman suddenly slouching against the wall of the alleyway.

“Besides...I’m not the only one who looks like shit right now, genius. You’re not looking too hot either, and even though you put up a good fight...seems like I’m not the only one who needs help...that sound about right?”

Henry didn’t exactly care, per say, about the woman’s well-being...but she didn’t exactly do anything at this time that warranted her death. In Henry’s own sort of cracked logic, if a human didn’t give a reason for them to be killed...then they didn’t get killed. It was a simple thought process in his mind, in spite of the topic itself being something so much more complex than just humans being inherently evil and deserving of death. The stranger hadn’t exactly done anything that prompted more than just mild annoyance from him, and....concern?-NO. He wasn’t concerned for the stranger’s well being....Hell, he knew not a damn thing about her.

His crew had sent him out to order sympathy flowers for another station that had lost a member recently. Even if they weren’t part of his crew, any Detroit first responder felt like a distant relative. The loss was felt in every station within the city. ”Excuse me. Do you have a catalog for personal arrangements?”

Henry had originally been organizing the plants that were on display near the front of the shop when he was approached by the other, He turned, a small ‘hm?’ coming from him as he looked at him, realizing he was also another android. An MC500, known for being used as a first responder, the android’s uniform telling him that he was a firefighter.

He offered a polite smile to him. “Ah, of course, we keep that up near the front counter.” He turned, walking over and picking up said catalog, opening it up on the counter. “We have different categories depending on what type of arrangement you’re going for, whether it be for a bridal shower, birthday party, or even just something small as a thank you gift. Feel free to look as long as you’d like, I can help you with picking things out, and once you’re ready I can take down your information.”

He’s always more at-ease speaking with fellow androids; they were only other people he could trust outside of the station. He returns the smile with a charming smirk of his own. “Thanks,” he slides the catalog closer, taking a look at it. To his dismay, he knows absolutely nothing about flowers or the etiquette involved in giving them. He’s not exactly programmed with that information.

”Ah, I’ll be honest, I'm clueless with this sort of thing. Flowers aren’t really part of the whole ’put-out-the-fire’ and ’save-the-cat-from-the-tree programs.’” He jokes, tapping his head with his finger as referenced his programs. ”I was sent because no one else wanted to and I lost a bet, so ah...think you could help me out?”

A soft laugh came from Henry. “That’s perfectly fine, you wouldn’t be the first customer who needed help with this sort of thing. I can’t tell you how many confused customers I get, panicking about what to possibly get for their partner.” Henry leaned over the counter, humming in thought.

“Well, let’s get down to the basics. What’s the occasion? That’s the first step to knowing what flowers are most appropriate to give, cause you don’t wanna accidentally send the wrong message with a certain bouquet.” By now, Henry had already gone on his usual spiel, obviously quite enthralled in the topic of flowers, and once you got him in the zone there didn’t seem to be any going back.

A bitter laugh escapes her at the android’s sass, rolling her eyes. Though her smirk fades slightly at the self-deprecating–so it wasn’t that he didn’t need saving, but he thought he didn’t deserve it? Deep down, empathy stirred in her gut. Or maybe she was reading too much into this whole mess.

She raises a brow, taking note of the practically murderous look in his eye–the blood on his hands began to hold a different context. Before, she’d assumed it was from this fight, but now that’s she considered it, it didn’t exactly look…fresh. One of the men began to squirm in his sleep: great, it looked like he might throw up. Well, if she left them like this and they drowned on their own vomit, she’d be partially at fault. ”Shit,” momentarily ignoring the android, she dragged each of the men so that they were laying in their sides against the wall. There: that would have to suffice. She wipes their drunken grime off on her pants, making no effort to hide her disgust.

When the android spoke again, she shook her head. ”And just how far do you think you’ll get with those injuries?” She calls after him. Knowing more about cybernetics that she likes to admit, with the amount of thirium he just spit up, it didn’t bode well.

A ‘tch’ came from him as he looked over his shoulder. “I don’t have time for this...” He muttered, picking up a bag he’d set aside, containing cans/tins of processed meats that hadn’t expired yet, slipping it over his shoulder. This was close enough to most wet animal foods, and they liked it enough to eat it.

“What are you, my Mother? I can handle myself, Miss Hero. Ain’t nothing I haven’t had before already...” He looked down a moment before realizing there was a bit of fresh thirium staining the abdomen of his t-shirt. Fucking hell. They must’ve gotten him in an already injured part of his torso. God, that was annoying as all hell. He was thankful he couldn’t feel any of it though. That...would likely make things a whole lot more difficult than they already were, what with his joints locking up, and him always having to patch himself up. It was all worth it though if it meant not having humans who enacted their violent behaviors such as that on the streets.

He turned around, facing the stranger with a scowl. “Who the hell even are you, anyways? Some vigilante? You get kicks from ‘helping’ like this?...”

”Tch. Didn’t need my help, ” she mocks bitterly, reaching for her pocket and pulling a crumpled napkin from the bar, wiping the blood from her hands. ”The way things were going, you’d be nothing but a fucking pile of plastic if I hadn’t intervened.”

Though his appearance is gruesome, she doesn’t stare. She’d seen plenty of discarded androids in the back streets of Detroit; all with horrifying expressions forever etched on to what was left of their faces. This city was plagued with hatred for what it didn’t understand and Cyberlife did absolutely nothing to quell it. Though she won’t admit it, she’d relived to have actually made it in time to help for once.

”A thank you would suffice, really” she snips, dabbing her leaking nose with the napkin. She didn’t really expect any appreciation, especially not with this android’s attitude. She turned her attention to the unconscious men; they’d be fine here until they woke up. Sure, she could report this, but that would mean admitting she threw the first blow.

"Oh, yes, where are my manners?" He asked sarcastically, giving a small bow to her. "Thank you sooooo much, Miss Hero. You want a prize or somethin'? Maybe a cookie?" He offers a smirk, teeth covered in his own thirium. "Well, congratulations, Hero. You wasted your oh-so-wonderful talents on a piece of shit.”

Who the hell did this woman even think she was, and how the hell did she even take down these men? He looked down to them, unconscious, beaten...but still alive. He only wished that he could change that. That, however, likely wouldn’t fly too well with this stranger, and he didn’t want to risk sustaining any more damage to himself. He sure as hell didn’t see himself as some kind of saint, but he certainly was doing Detroit a favor by getting rid of low lives like these men. The world was slightly less of a shit hole without them. He didn’t do anything, but the way he stared at them was evident of just what he felt like doing. He cursed under his breath before willing himself to look away from them. Well, tonight was a fucking bust.

He spat a certainly large amount of thirium on to the ground before wiping his mouth again, groaning in frustration with a disgusted look on his face. He’d have definitely to take a look at himself when he got back home. He sighed, turning before picking up the shovel that had been tossed aside. “Just beat it, alright? You never saw me.”
