Being in a burning building was not something that Gavin was going to be making a habit of doing, but the fire had started while he had been chasing down a suspect who had set the highrise ablaze. The fucker had managed to escape before Gavin could catch and arrest him and the crackling of flames and the screams of people drew his attention away. Fucking bastard, he knew that Gavin was going to stop the chase to protect those who had no idea what was going on.
He doesn’t know how long he had been in the building, enough time for the fire to spread, for smoke to fill the halls. Fuck it was getting hard to breathe. But he wasn’t about to stop moving through the building to get civilians out before the smoke became too thick.

So he is quite fucking surprised when his feet suddenly leave the ground, for a moment his heart lurches into his throat, thinking that the floor had given out under him but that thought is gone when he hears a voice speak to him. His heart is still beating so fast that if he didn’t know any better, he would say it was trying to escape from his chest.
“Fucking hell!” He calls out, already struggling to make movement harder for the fireman android “There are still people in there! Put me the fuck down!”
