For a moment, the girl’s eyebrows furrowed themselves, an irked gesture at her own guesses. She had the slightest feeling that he was just enjoying himself at the expense of her growing curiosity, but that ridiculous collar wasn’t helping her confirm anything.
It only got worse when the boy moved to walk past her after she let another Angel through. She raised a hand, thoughtlessly attempting to stop him from going anywhere, but paused, and let her arm fall down. She had no reason to stop him now - she had nothing new to question either.
Rhyme wasn’t privy to the details of his meeting, and he hadn’t given his name yet, so who said he would give it now? It was frustrating, but was there really anything else she could do except for repeating herself?
“Fine." She made an effort to not hiss that out, her lips straining themselves to smile politely. Maintaining one’s composure after defeat was, indeed, a skill of the wise and experienced, she noted idly. "Proceed. But, if I am allowed at least this - may I have your name? …Please?"
Why wouldn't she just give up and go back to whatever she was doing before? Honestly, was he that interesting that she felt the need to follow him around? Literally the only perk of this situation was being able to annoy her more.
"Experiment 65Y4X." He said quickly. He wasn't exactly lying. While in the HG he wasn't permitted to know his real name. They were afraid that he would talk to someone who didn't know about the mission, tell them his name, and they would talk to someone in Shibuya. If that happened, they would have to start all over again.
"If you keep talking to me and holding me up, I'm going to be late for my meeting." He snapped, clearly irritated. The last time he was late for a meeting wasn't pretty, it wasn't something he wanted to relive.
Neku just has very very basic emotions and stuff because of how many times his personality and memories have been reset. Like, he has problems interacting with people because he's literally been programmed to focus mainly on his mission. But every now and again, something will happen and bring up memories from his past that he has forgotte and his personality comes back to him.
This is my final art for the TWEWY bang haha. I guess I should repost it here XD
Send me § and my muse will react to yours pushing them against a wall and kissing them.

Coco giggled and grinned.
"It’s like, not polite to just walk out of a conversation."
Aw, he barely even reacted. It wasn’t often that Coco felt mischievous, but sometimes she just couldn’t help herself. She was still technically a kid, after all, even though she was older than the orange-haired boy she was talking to. He looked like he was getting pretty annoyed. Well, that was what he got for being so rude. Plus she was bored, not a whole lot was going on that really required her attention.
"So, what ‘cha doin’?"
She leaned, trying to get a view of his phone screen over his shoulder. It still looked like Tetris. She never got video games, at least not the ones that weren’t in arcades. Light gun games and dancing games she got, but things like Tetris… not so much.
"I, like, don't care." He said, obviously mocking her speaking mannerisms. Who even talked like that anymore? Not anyone he knew. Sure, he didn't know many people, but it didn't matter. Only people on television talked like that. People from America talked like that. No one from Japan who was in their right minds talked like that.
"None of your business." He snapped, pressing the home button on his phone and putting the object into his pocket. Neku couldn't understand why she was bothering him of all people. He didn't really stand out, he wasn't very interesting. He just wanted to be left alone.
"Don't you have someone else to go bother? Friends, family, people in the supermarket?"
Her frown deepening, Rhyme had half a mind to retort on his own rudeness - but didn’t, since there wasn’t much of a point in trading quips in the middle of the corridor, as much as she wanted to do it anyway.
She might not know who he was, but the boy was clearly someone of some importance, or purpose—and that was odd, because no one had even bothered to inform her about him. Meaning, that she wasn’t supposed to know about him, or that she would have to pretend that it was none of her business. These were hard orders to follow.
"Am I not permitted to know?" she questioned back, an eyebrow raised slightly.
Neku hid the lower half of his face in his shirt as a smirk spread over his features. He was sure the girl could tell what he was doing, but he didn't care. She wouldn't dare cause a scene here. And even if she did, he was sure he could handle anything she threw at him.
It was a perk of being a robot.
"Nope, you're not." He said, stepping to the side as someone else passed the pair. Why did he get to go through without getting hassled by the runt? It wasn't fair. So he walked around her, very very tempted to bump into her shoulder as he walked past. But he was a decent person, and decided against it.
"Oh! Sorry, Neku. I was just wondering if you'd like to do something today... That is, if you aren't busy."
That certainly caught him off guard. Of course he was busy, hunting down someone who was basically on the same level as a god wasn’t easy. But he hadn’t gotten any leads on Joshua for the past few days. And if Beat found out he said no and made her sad, he didn’t want to know what would happen. It was probably best to try and make an excuse.
“I— Don’t you have someone else to hang out with? I mean I’m pretty lame after all." He asked, not really sure what else to say.
"That’s definitely a good song." Rhyme nodded in agreement, a small skip to her step now. She paused for a split second and her smile became slightly more forced. She never really liked talking about them: her parents. "I like Someday. And Deja Vu! Beat’s kind of a fan of Tatakai."
"I know they aren’t always right, but they are my parents, so I still need to listen to them. I live under their roof, after all… And I’m not going to stop liking it because they want me to. It’s more like I have to be discrete about what I like."
Neku almost hit himself. Even in his current state, he still held a great deal of consideration toward the feelings of others, especially someone like Rhyme. Most of his empathy was taken by her since he knew what she went through and how loyal she was. Making her even the slightest bit upset was... upsetting to him.
It seemed it was time to change the subject.
"So how is school and everything going?" He asked, stretching and clasping his hands behind his head. It wasn't the best change of subject ever executed, but it would have to do.
The Perks of Being a Robot, a new ABC Family series starring Neku Sakuraba.

As the door chimed, the figure of an ambiguous Reaper slid right in to the small cafe, and was only mildly surprised to see someone else in it besides the sepia shaded barista. It was the orange-haired monochrome she used to know, wasn’t it? Heh. Then again, the chances were high that this was another one of the many versions of him out there between universes. And even though it was unlikely he knew her as such, she was more than comfortable with breaching societal conventions at times like this.
Strolling up with vaguely clicking footsteps from the heels of today’s pair of boots, two hands with lilac-painted nails pulled out the opposite chair for the pastelled Takumi — clearly overdressed for the warm weather — to sit down. Surely that would get the currently colorless boy’s attention. And if he were to look up at any time, he would be met by a gentle smile on the androgynous face.
"Someone’s lazy."
The only upsides to being a robot in a town basically controlled by technology was being able to tap into literally anything and gain access to anything he wanted. Bank accounts, emails, social networking sites, you name it. So as Neku lazed about, eyes closed and chest rising and falling rhythmically, he decided to spend his time going through someone's Itunes library. It was rather pathetic, all of it was Country. Who listened to country music in Japan?
His endeavor was oh so rudely interrupted by someone commenting on his lack of activity. He opened his eyes and the serene look on the male's face quickly dropped as the first thing he saw was a smile. Who was this? And why were they interrupting his "me" time?
"Am I really lazy? Or am I just smart?" He asked. "Everyone out there is sweating themselves into puddles. I'm inside, cool and air conditioned--" even though he didn't need it, "--until tonight; it'll be cooler. I wont drench myself in sweat while doing what I have to do."

For an instant, the Composer seemed flabbergasted by what he perceived as all of modern chronology’s most uninspired wisdom. His unimpressed leer swiftly morphed into a roll of his eyes, perhaps deciding it was actually quite characteristic of Neku to state the obvious.
"Neku, it’s not my tactical procedures that are out of key," he scoffed. The mere act of condescending another human being—or so he, for now, thought—seemed to mollify his ill mood. When he returned his attention to the device in his hand, it was with calm appraisal.
“Obviously, the resolution of the original PC-based demo is not flexible enough to function under a comparatively minuscule one. It’s a poor adaptation, is all. I wonder if they even bother to play the mobile versions before they slap an Android-compatible decal on the Google Play advertisement.”
Not mentioning that Androids and decade-old flip phones were not exactly the same animal. That knowledge didn’t stop him from boldly proclaiming, “It’s the lag, not me.”
Out of everything Neku couldn't remember, he was glad that most of Week 2 of the Long Game was something that was wiped from his memory. If Joshua talked this much when he did nothing but make a simple comment, the ginger didn't want to know what would be the end result of him asking or saying something that actually required thinking.
He's so... annoying. He thought, glancing around at their surroundings.
"Sure sure, that's why you had a flip phone for how long?" He asked. He didn't have much room to talk. He had a flip phone for most of his life, he had only recently gotten a Samsung Galaxy S4. It wasn't even the S5, but you couldn't really complain when you were getting it for free. Basically.
