Pulling the plug on Kickstarter
The developer Night Works Games have decided to cut the funding for its own crowdfunding because they want to finish a demo for an arena shooter. The game had enough hype, but it was not on place for a goal of $700 000.
Kickstarters have had a way of earning indie games money. For example, Amplitutde asked for $775 000 and ended up raising $844 000. For the gaming industry and especially for game developers just starting off, this is extremely helpful. It is a great way to gain more awareness and rise in competition against blockbuster games such as Call of Duty. I think that if more gaming developers could have access to funds such as this, we would have more ideas, games, and better accessibility!
