The bull pants in the thick heat of its own blood. It strains against its own largeness. This is no field, there is no grass, no open sky, no cows, no shady tree. In due process the cranium is split from the corpus, and the bull returns to its sky and field.
The headless bull is a monument, an excess. A massive trash-heap of shit. The pile is rummaged through and slowly digested by the infinite number of earthly coprophiles. Hot globs of muscle and skin, gushing blood and seeping tears, all melted by bile into running shit. This hot alchemical slag of the coprophagic digestive tract flows across the lands, distributed across every meridian, from dust to dust. The body is not returned to earth whole but dissolves into the same feces that all become.
But the castrated head seeks another body. It resolves never again to touch the unclean earth. The sacrificial bull head, with horns erect like excited angel wings, its eyes rolled up in pleasure and locked like a hunter to the twinkling stars, its tongue drooping out for a taste of divine wind, is set to final orgasmic blaze over licking flames. Fur, skin, muscle, snot, spit, eyeballs, brains, all rendered dark and sacred cloud: A final little death for the remaining mundanity. A vein to Heaven has opened, and the ashes flow upward into the vaulted cranium of the sky along the pulsing hot wind. In a thousand years another celestial eye will join the countless others of the night.

They'll arrest me and put me in the psych ward and I'll argue with the nurses about how a wrap and burrito are functionally the same and also are sandwiches and ill never get out but I'll know I'm right
The more eloquently I can reason why a chicken nugget is a sandwich the longer it takes for you to tap out of the conversation and I want to have a long conversation with you about that
yay food production discourse ^_^
i think both 1) food production will have to change a lot in the near-future to deal with changing environemental and social conditions and 2) the communist movement can effect that change much more quickly than people think
in socialist states historically and today it's common for people to be fed from canteens at their place of employment, such as students and workers living in dorms. industrial kitchens are much more efficient at feeding people, but they only operate for a fixed time each day. so convenience stores and some amount of home cooking supplement them
however socialist states historically and today haven't yet managed to do away with the family structure, so domestic cooking also remains fairly widespread. during the pandemic, governments who had to supply people quarantined at home supplied both convenience meals as well as cooking ingredients. i think this sorta shows the issue at present w doing away more totally with the domestic sphere of labour and the role of the family
socialist states already carry out most of the individual jobs of the family like cooking, housing, cleaning etc but they don't do this for everyone and not all the time. partially this is logistics but also just bc everyone's already socially organised into family units
if new socialist states start emerging, especially from highly developed capitalist states, it could be a really big jump forwards in development ^_^ especially in terms of social relations and culture. so i would think, esp since these days there's the high costs of living and the breakdown of the family structure, theyll have to take a larger role in directly feeding ppl
Okay! So in the 1953, there was this story about a transgender woman, Georgia Black. And, this wasn't like a celebrity actor or tennis player. She was a fairly average, southern Church lady black woman who was only remarkable by merit of being generally well regarded by her community.
The story is, she got cancer and died at 56, but the doctor who examined her outed her birth gender to her daughter-in-law and possibly her community, which led to her getting harassed by the press during her already difficult medical treatment.
But, what's interesting to me about this story is that whatever press you see about this story, it always seems like the media was trying to drum up controversy, but everyone they interviewed just talked about her with respect and love and told the media to stop bothering them while they were mourning. Like the sensation the media wanted wasn't there. She was a beloved wife and mother, a well-regarded member of the community and most of what you read about Georgia Black is just how much people cared about and missed her and that to me is remarkable.
Also, girl was socially transitioned in 1923 so don't let anyone tell you trans people are a new thing.
"We're gonna be talking about the BOOBY! We'll be talking about the WOODCOCK! Do you think that's FUNNY, Butthead? Do you find it AMUSING that we'll be talking about the SWALLOW? Yes, we're also gonna be talking about the DICKCISSEL, the BUSHTIT, the COCK-OF-THE-ROCK, the SHAG... and we will DEFINITELY be spending a LOT of time talking about...GREAT TITS!!"

From the department of “man I wish I was making this up”, I just learned my department chair dislikes me bc she thinks I used AI to write my MA thesis but can’t prove it. It’s because of my “needlessly complex” sentences, apparently.
Said draft required knowledge of three languages and access to sources that haven’t been digitized. Didn’t stop her from berating me at my defense and telling me that “you think you’re funny and clever, but you’re not,” as well as calling me several charming things.
Same chair is under investigation for multiple conduct violations and potential financial fraud :)
its WILDDDDDD like so many professors are tyrants who think their tenure makes them little god kings. Most of the students I've seen get punished are ones with "over-complicated writing styles" and are almost universally not white lol. it's so blatantly racist. I've had students come to me terrified of being accused of using AI, and it's hard to even give them advice on what things to avoid in their writing to reduce that possibility, because profs and TAs love hallucinating AI-isms in essays and/or just deciding students they dislike are using AI. Accusing students with high grades of using AI is also a handy way to reduce the class average (every undergraduate class I've TA'd for has class average targets). But for sure the main concern is about helping students understand the real value of learning
