January release will not be happening, I realized how much I have on my plate and that is not enough time for me to finish all the art required.

But! The first release will be soon, I've got so much more figured out now and currently I'm focused on writing the code for the sprites, considering the actual writing is for the most part completed. This let me see how many sprites I'll exactly need, and let me realize special scenes I'll need to draw as stand alones.

So that begs the question; Would you all prefer it be uploaded with his routes completely ready, all art that would be in the game a part of it, or would you like it asap, with minor updates for the art as I finish them. Either way, january release would not be happening, but I could aim for a valentines release.

Is the game gonna cost money? And will it br available on all devices or just laptops? Sorry for asking questions just curious since this looks really nice!

The game will be free, and only available on computer as of current plans. Donations will be welcome and very much appreciated though <3. Also answering this as an excuse to give an update!

The aim of a January release for the Leo route is looking good!! We're so close to finishing writing all the routes, and then it's just finishing the coding, art, and possibly music for him. I'm in love with how each path plays out currently, and I'd like to give a little thanks to my co-writer and music artist @goldanrabbit here. I'd literally have gotten stuck so many times without their help and inspiration, and working over call is always so fun!

No new art to share yet, but thank you for reading this update! An itchio page should be up within a week or two, and I'll make a post for that when it's ready.

Still working on this! Just had a bout where I had to follow my creative whims so I wouldn't end up with burn out, but I'm here now! With a few finished backgrounds! If you want to remain spoiler free, don't look down there.

Gotta continue work on Leo routes, and my first patch release estimate may have been naive, considering what was six months has dropped down to three in what feels like the snap of a finger. Still, thank you for the questions I have received and the good luck wishes!

hiiiii, will you make it for Mac?

I'll use this ask to answer a couple more, which were these

So! I am using ren'py, which means it should already be making a mac build for me! as for making it available anywhere besides the computer, I have no idea, probably not, but it will be free. That being said, if you could spare a little money once I start sharing builds, it'd be greatly appreciated and motivate me to do more with it like future for funsies expansions and extras!!

So there’s multiple routes for each turtle?

So originally, [pause], we had four routes planned for each of them, but Leo is currently looking to have a little more than that. The same could possibly be the case with the others in the future, too. The branches do be branching, but also tangling, like a beautiful mess of a braid.

Sorry for taking so long to respond! It's just it's a bit of a mystery on our end too, so I didn't want to answer without knowing for sure. Additional apologies for the answer being so vague because of this, too.

I am hoping, I really don't wanna end up being completely wrong here, Hoping to get the Leo routes out in a year tops. Six months if we're really pushin' my luck. Again, I don't want to give myself strict due dates because I tend to shut down once I do, so you'll have to be patient.

For the second question, sticking to the canon! Including that tidbit that was shared on twitter that after the events of the movie, the turtles and mutants/yokai would be public knowledge. Turtles doing every day things! I was thinking I may add some personal headcanon extra markings to display them being older, and ofc as seen with Leo they'll be in their own outfits, but aside from that; canon.

knowing that theirs going to be bad endings I'm very curious because I love games with multiple endings but at the same time scared of what's gonna happen in the bad ending..... my curiosity is killing me!!! QwQ

I read that you finished the route for Leo. So my question is:

Are you writing each route one by one? If so, which route are you looking forward to writing the most?

Finished a Leo route*; There's gonna be multiple endings for each bro!

As for the order we are working on them, for the most part yes, we are working on one brother at a time. If an idea for one of the others comes to mind, then we'll jot it down, but otherwise all thought power is going into Leo at the moment.

As for which one(s) I'm looking forward to, that'd probably the bad endings teehee. I lowkey love angst.

also side note, making adjustments to Leo's sprite so it looks better as we speak, I wasn't happy with a few things

Right so uh, as I said I'm doing most of the work myself, so while I'm optimistic, it could take ages for this thing to be done. Especially since I'm also doing sprites and background art, because that's honestly what's gonna take me the longest.

I do plan on sharing each brother as I finish them, though!! That being said, Leo will be the first release, likely followed by Donnie, then Raph or Mikey, but those three are open to being switched around as of now.

As said in my last ask, I *am* getting help with writing from the lovely @goldanrabbit, but otherwise it's all me, but I wanted to answer that second question!

The name 'Meet'Cute Turtles' is based on the romance trope of a meet cute. Usually how the main couple met and supposedly a cute little moment that starts their initial attraction. In the game, you'll have a meet cute with which ever turtle you run into that changes depending on your conversation choices with them!

Are you working on this game by yourself or have you got others helping out? Either way I hope to see this get more attention because i (and I’m sure many others) have been waiting for a game like this for ages.

For the most part, I'm doing it by myself. That being said, a MONUMENTAL thank you to @goldanrabbit for helping me with writing and inspiration! Aside from that, I'm doing the art, coding, and cleaning the writing myself.

This game is my first dip in the water, and what started as dipping my toes in turned into diving head first, but I couldn't be happier! I'm having so much fun with it, being able to switch from one thing to another when it becomes too much is amazing.

As I previously mentioned, I may add more to the game through updates and 'specials' if there is enough hype and I stay interested in it. Originally this was gonna be a short sort of practice round for an original project I may still want to do later, but for now all my focus is on Meet'Cute Turtles!

Also, if you've read this far, we've officially finished writing through a whole route for Leo >:].. now I just need to finish the other half of his sprites oTL /silly

hi hi hello! what other things can we know about your game? :00 like plot, what's up with the characters and stuff

As for plot, it's really simple. MC missed their train home, and can either waste time waiting for the next one, or try walking home!

As for characters, there's ofc our four boys, but then a secret fifth route that's for sillies. I want to keep most of it a surprise, but I also know I get excited to share little things I've finished. You'll just have to wait and see what gets revealed!

The game takes place a few years after the events of the movie, Mikey being 19/20, the twins 20/21, and Raph 21/22. The name 'Meet'cute turtles' was decided because for now it's more like a different meet-cute with each turtle, and that's it. If I get better with coding and can monetize it a little, I'll definitely add more! The game will be free, though, of course.
