My girlfriend and I just freed two squirrels stuck in the same garbage can
Fuzzbum is her name! A rose hair tarantula who’s goal in life is to be the most chill as possible, compared to our pink toe tarantula, she’s an absolute doll.
This is Jelly, one of the two tiger salamanders I work with, his roommate is Jello, he’s a handful of squishy and a pinch of fiesty.
I got to hold Sunshine while working an event 😊 what an angel he is, he’s small for a Burmese python and unfortunately won’t get much bigger as his growth was stunted from previous owners but he’s doing a lot better and we’ve never had a problem with him :)

HERPETOLOGY: 11 New Species of Rain Frog Discovered in Ecuadorian Andes
Say hello to your new frog squad. Scientists have discovered 11 new to science species of rain frogs in the tropical Andes in Ecuador.
The rain frogs, which comprise a unique group lacking a tadpole stage of development, are described in an article published in the open-access journal ZooKeys.
One of the newly described species is a bizarre Multicolored Rain Frog (seen below). Individuals of this species vary from bright yellow to dark brown. They’re so unusual that scientists first assumed they belonged to at least two separate species. However, genetic data demonstrated that they represented a single species, according to researchers.
The study on the 11 rain frogs in the publication is considered “remarkable” because of the large number of new species of frog. Vertebrate animals are so difficult to collect and extremely laborious to describe that most studies only list one to five new species. The new paper, authored by Nadia Paez and Dr. Santiago Ron, is also significant as it’s part of Paez’s undergraduate thesis…

Most of my friends would just sit next me to comfort me or txt me later on in the day. My (girl)friend was the first to hug me and let me cry on her shoulder, she didn’t ask questions, she let me tell when I was ready :) she’s new in my life but she’s the best thing to have ever happened
Almost forgot to post these, found 6 garter snakes during our tree walk (only picked up 3 of them). I’m was thrilled to have seen such a large garter! Absolutely chunky! Didn’t even fit in my hands :D

My tank is coming together nicely, I picked up 4 plants on Thursday and ordered a new light, a heater and a better thermometer for the tank, unfortunately the light wasn’t the exact model as I have for my bettas so I switched them (betta one was bigger). Unfortunately, during my plant shopping I picked up a dozen ghost shrimp and put them in quarantine, they were fine Friday morning when I left but were dead by the time I got home, I’m thinking transport shock because the water tested fine and they had food available. Oh well, I’m going to wait until I attempt shrimp again
20 gallon progress! Needing to get some plants to add a bit more character to the tank (and to provide some nice hiding spots)
