I think the Book of Job minisode is everything that Good Omens should be.

- Religious satire/commentary (the absurdity regarding the bet with Job, the archangels being generally clueless, the deconstruction of how to-the-letter you need to be with following the laws of religion)

- Genuinely funny (Ty Tennant having like 3 minutes of screen time and out-fruiting his dad, Jemima and her pot and wanting to be turned into a salamander, Bildad the Shuhite and all that that entails)

- an emotional, character-driven core (Aziraphale learning the limits of his own morality, the discussion of the role good and evil play in events and how each is perceived when done by different parties, learning just how similar Aziraphale and Crowley are as it pertains to personal desires (which we as the viewer know, but chronologically it’s one of the first times they connect like they do)

And of course

- the undertones (Crowley tempting Aziraphale into eating which, with the way Aziraphale devours that meat, has zero chance of not being a metaphor for some kind of physical relationship; the nature of being just a little bit different than your peers, and how that affects your views of yourself; and the purely humanistic, just-this-once-everybody-lives kind of narrative that emphasizes the importance and power of familial and interpersonal relationships)

stede enjoys making love with ed very much but he is sure he enjoys the afterglow even more than the act itself, because he can tell it's something neither of them have enjoyed before and he thinks he could spend a lifetime basking in it, in the soft way ed says thank you and kisses him when stede gets them both cleaned up, and in the way ed, who is pretty cuddly in normal circumstances, holds him even more tightly in those moments, and in the silly conversations they have, whispers full of laughter and wandering kisses and of stede cradling ed's face and calling him dear heart, all tender eyes and gentle fingers that make their way to ed's hair so he can get rid of any knots he is guilty of creating

Moments I adore in Good Omens (TV series)

I will get the urge to watch this one scene sometimes - I mean, I start it at the "DO SOMETHING", naturally, and let it run until Adam confronts Satan - but there is just something about the whole sequence that makes my heart race and my stomach flip. It's how unified Aziraphale and Crowley are and how it shows us that despite the charade, they are so in sync and want the same thing. And the music and the way it all builds adds to it for sure. Plus, I love seeing their wings out and them in full angel and demon mode, but also, seeing just how powerful they are and how much they care. It's up there as one of my absolute favourite scenes, I love it so much.

OFMD is wish fulfillment in the sense that racists and colonizers are routinely punished for their actions but also in the sense of Ed getting an actual heartfelt apology from his abusive father figure that he never got from his actual dad.

Izzy's Season 2 arc is all about getting him to the point where he can finally look Ed in the face and say "I hurt you on purpose for completely selfish reasons" and Ed can move on with his life knowing it wasn't his fault and he's not a monster for fighting back and he's not a monster for protecting the people he cares about (his mother, Stede, etc.)
