reflections (A) (by camil tulcan)
Very cheeky, brilliant concept.
Taken on my new 40mm f2.8 Nikon micro, released a few weeks ago, this lens is great for getting a nice crisp image and is good for getting a nice detailed close up, the only problem is getting the lighting to get those super close macro shots (especially if you live in cloudy Britain.) The Lens is quite good for doing landscape and portrait work, the lens peaks at f8, giving a very sharp result for landscape shots. Playing with the selective focus is fun, I love the use of large aperture in digital photography, shame its so expensive. Overall, this lens is awesome all around, but just make sure not to use a lens hood when playing with the 1:1 capability, you need to leave some room for light to hit the subject.
Jakarta club at the source, a mongtage of photos from the eventful night. All the photos were shot in black and white, I prefered the results I got from monochorme. I used an ISO range of 100 all the way up to 3200, mainly because Its easy to get away with that amount of noise with black and white shots. Always shooting in manual mode, my shutter speed didnt go much higher than 1/100 of a second all the way down to 3 seconds. Sometimes I'd use flash to get a nice sharp/ motion blurred picture, with a hint of light graffiti.
Photos taken over my summer holidays, quite the bit of contrast in terms of editing, I like to try out HDR software and I also like trying to make my photos have a great amount of clarity.
My home town, Penrith, just a little sample of what I do, this photo was featured on ITV Border news during the weather forecast.
