TryingâŠ
it hurt when I stumbled across her. she was like broken glass all along the floor. but it was beautiful and my curiosity got the best of me. I remember looking at her and all I could see was pain. she had this insane look of desperation; you could almost feel it. and yet her eyes were still hollow; like the life had been sucked out of her. I wanted to pick up her pieces. I wanted to put her back together. and so I tried. I really did. I got a little cut along the way. the more I tried to fix her the more fragile I became myself but I didnât care. I wanted to see her happy. every time I made her laugh I thought about how I wanted to make her laugh forever. she was getting better. eventually she was put together enough to get up and walk away. but she didnât take me with her. and Iâve been stuck sitting here where I first found her. wondering if the pieces left on the floor are hers or mine. I should probably get the fuck up.
THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL OHMYGOD
wow..
This actually fucking hurt to read.
Oh my god Iâm crying
How The People We Once Loved Become Strangers Again
Itâs interesting to think about how we make people who used to be everything into nothing again. How we learn to forget. How we force forgetting. What we put in place of them in the interim. The dynamics afterward always tell you more than what the relationship did â grief is a faster teacher than joy â but what does it mean when you cycle out to being strangers again? Because you never really stop knowing each other in that way. Maybe thereâs no choice but to make them someone different in your mind, not the person who knew your daily anxieties and what you looked like naked and what made you cry and how much you loved them.
When our lives revolve around someone, they donât just stop revolving around them even if all thatâs left is the grief and pain that comes with their memory. Because you loved them, there will always be parts of them that linger. The memories that are impressed on the places you went and the things you said and the songs you listened to will remain. We all eventually find ourselves standing in the checkout line, hearing one of those songs come on and realizing that all of a sudden, weâre revolving around them again. And maybe we never stopped.
Do you ever really forget your loversâ birthdays, or all your first times, intimate and not? Do your anniversaries ever become normal days of the year again? Are the things you did and promises you made ever really neutralized? Do they become void now that youâre broken up or do you decidedly ignore them because thereâs simply no other choice? The mind tells you to go on, and forces your heart to follow suit I guess.

Can We Choose Who We Love?
The kind of love that centuries of books and plays and stories have regaled us with are the ones in which all expectations are defied in place of love anyway.
I want to believe that you either love someone, in some way, forever, or you never really loved them at all. That once two reactive chemicals cross both are changed. That the wounds we leave in people are sometimes too raw to risk falling back into them. I donât want to believe that we write each other off because we simply donât matter anymore. I know love isnât expendable. I wonder, and maybe hope, if we ever just force it to be out of that necessity.
Maybe itâs just that weâre all at the centers of our own little universes, and sometimes they overlap with other peopleâs, and that small bit of intersection leaves some part of it changed; thatâs where we grow together. The collision can wreck us, change us, shift us; sometimes we become eternally undetachable and connected and other times we decidedly move away because the change required to accept another personâs universe colliding with yours is a safety we donât want to leave. Either way, itâs inevitable that your universe expands. That youâre left knowing that much more about love and what it can do, and the pain that only a hole in your heart can bring. Whether or not that hole will ever again include the person who made it that way, thatâs for you to decide.
We all start as strangers. The choices we make in terms of love are usually ones that seem inevitable anyway. We find people irrationally compelling. We find souls made of the same stuff ours are. We find classmates and partners and neighbors and family friends and cousins and sisters and our lives intersect in a way that makes them feel like they couldnât have ever been separate. And this is lovely. But the ease and access isnât what we crave. It isnât what Iâm writing about right now. It isnât what we revolve around after itâs gone. We are all just waiting for another universe to collide with ours, to change what we canât ourselves. To fill us, to make us whole. Itâs interesting how afterwards, we realize that the storm returns to calm, but the stars are always changed and we donât choose whose collisions change us. We all start as strangers, but we often forget that we choose who ends up a stranger too.

Hey girl! I saw that you're going to YWAM Herrnhut in September. I just finished my DTS there in February and will be returning as staff at the end of May. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me! And if there's anything I can be praying for, let me know :) Jenn
Hi Jenn! Yes I am going to Herrnhut in September. I am very excited and thanks so much for teaching out to me. I would love to what  you wish you would have known before going. What you would have done differently, what you wished you would have packed. Stuff like that. Basically any pieces of advice will be greatly appreciated. :)Â

Private Moon Project
Russian artists Leonid Tishkov and Boris Bendikov created a fantastic world illuminated with the moonlight where they tried to convey relations between the man and the Moon. This is a romantic story about a man who met the Moon and decided to stay with it forever. They named the installation âPrivate Moonâ.
Disregard the fact that they called me a He. But nonetheless I will be going to Germany next year! Wahoo. I feel like this is what God is calling me to do. I will study photography in Germany for three months and then go on an outreach somewhere in Africa or Asia for the next three months. This is a huge leap of faith for me, I don't know anyone who is going and will be traveling by myself. But I know God has me under his wing and is in control. I am very excited for this new adventure next September. And would love your prayers.
