So I've been thinking about this for a while, but there's several moments throughout the Windbreaker series where Sakura looks like he wants to cry but no tears come out and he's clearly holding back from doing it.

The fact that he also does this in private indicates that he doesn't do this out of embarrassment, but from habit.

It's likely that his caretakers berated him or even beat him whenever he cried and now he's been Pavlov'd into holding back his tears even in safe spaces. And if I had to live with this revelation so do you.

I can be delusional when it comes to my favorite ships, but here, truly, all signs point to a true Soulmates trope in Wind Breaker. Suo and Sakura are connected, and nothing can break those bonds, no matter how far Suo goes.

Sakura already sensed a heart-to-heart connection with Suo, but now that we see their connection in Sakura's dream, everything seems even more profound. Their bond transcends the physical world.

Brief context for this part: the groom was worried about the wedding but acted tough, so the bride expressed her feelings using 6 roses, which have the meaning "Let’s respect, love, and share with each other." And then we had the groom saying the line above.

If you feel familiar, then yes, the line indeed was the infamous "敵わない / kanawanai" "I am no match for you / I can't compete against you."

Something about how this line is said only between the canon married couple, but then we also have Suo → Sakura. And it's exclusive to Suo and Sakura too, even in the official manga, or in Nirei’s fanfic winhero event story. Pretty much to think about.
