Hello and goodbye Mr. Chess...
Punch drunk infatuation

I did not even know that this video from one of my favorite bands I like existed and as an added bonus, clips from MTV's old series, Daria (!) no less :)
if the shoe fits
Admittedly i am sort of "atat" in getting my first allowance here as a graduate student cum scholar of the government of my current host country. After all it's been more than a month since I got here. and I guess, in my so-called "fetish " for shoes, which (read: I' am glad to let you know is not in Imelda Marcos territory, naman, ok?) I tried looking for a new pair to replace one of the four shoes that my luggage allowance allowed me to bring since it's already starting to slowly wither with the weather and what else have you (read: cobblestone steps, high altitude, the occassional the assortment of "souvenirs" from Zacatecanos and their pets leave about much) in Zacatecas.
So, off I passed by, once againn, to this sports store near the discount store where I usually shop since I got here, which caught my attention, given it had a lot of "athletic"/"sporty" shoes on sale, and lo! and behold, for I was faced with yet another interesting challenge to my already challenging day as it is ; for Apparently, Mexico follows and has a different shoe sizing chart, good thing one of the shopkeepers was nice and patient enough to help me figure out what my size was--a 25. Problem was that , I haven't exactly memorized my International shoe chart ,and he asked me for my UK and US sizes--Hmmm... all I know is that am a size 8 or 38, based on the shoes that I have bought back home and/or was given to me before by family and other realtives from abroad.
Anyway, we soon figured out I am a size 25 for the particualr shoe design that I liked, which I ended up not buying even though it fit me because it kept sliding down my ankles, so I tried to look at the other designs available and interestingly enough, even if I followed the "size 25 rule" , some of them had fit differently too and or had a different size for the other...In other words, I ended up not buying anything, due to allowance pending or what other factor/s have you.
Moral of this entry: Always keep a copy of the international shoe sizing chart or memorize it, if possible, for it'll certainly go a looong way, if the shoe, amongst other things, fits and permits.
And here's hoping that http://shoes.about.com/od/fitcomfort/a/wintshoesize.htm is a good and reliable source.
ako sa gitna ng aking buhay
So, I have started blogging again but this time in another format, hopefully it'll be a btter version of myself and from what i have written so far and in the past, for after all and per Wikipedia (wow, intellectual resource, eh?!?), the average Filipino (I hope these also includes Filipinas) lives to about 71.66 years (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_the_Philippines-- whew, not bad for a so-called "developing" country such as ours, correct?) and truth be told am near or should I say am (almost) halfway to that point if ever you'd consider me as your "average" Filipina and better spend the remainder of it "productively", as often sporadic as it may be.
So here goes blogging or what I would sometimes call " pointless' ranting while the rest of the world is busy ranting too.
Reader beware: This may an eclectic mix of either english, filipino, spanish or sometimes plain gibberish depending on my mood or state of not your usual weirdness.
Wish me luck.
