05/24/13: I found this praying mantis on my Roma Tomato plant. Apparently having predatory insects like the praying mantis or a lady bug is good for your garden because they eat pests that eat your plants, so they are a sort of natural pesticide. Yenny and I are trying to make our vegetable gardening organic and pesticide-free, so finding this praying mantis was a good sign.

My Gift To My Mom for Mother's day

It's a succulent dish garden that I arranged using 5 different succulents. My mother loved it! It will last her a long time! And the best part for me (I'm broke), it wasn't that expensive, just a little over $20.

I recommend it as a gift idea.

Hanging Strawberry Planter that I bought from Wal-Mart for only 7$.

The pot is red and has indentations and the leaves above it are bright green, so it resembles a strawberry!

I hung it from the slanting ceiling by using a shepherd's hook meant for a balcony railing (usually meant to stand up-right) and I flipped it upside down. This way the strawberry plant won't be under the roof where it would be in the shade. It'll get more sunlight this way.

Rauru Pigwidgeon

The owl I bought from Ross to keep Godric, the Gargoyle, some company. Only 2$. Not bad, eh?

The owl from The Legend of Zelda, Kaepora Gaebora, is said to be a reincarnation of Rauru, the sage of the light temple.

Pigwidgeon is the name of Ron Weasley's owl in the Harry Potter series.

Godric Edvard Gaebora

The Gargoyle (or more technically appropriate, Chimera) I bought at the Renaissance Faire from a salesman that let me have it for $15. It looks like a dog or panther mixed with an eagle.

I wanted to name it Edvard from the start, but I liked Godric better for a first name. And I added Gaebora (the last name of the owl from the Zelda games) for rhythmic effect.
