Studying and teaching yourself magick wasn't what it was all cracked up to be. Practicing spell after spell consecutively was draining and almost mind-numbing.

Granted, when you finally got the hang of something, you felt great about yourself. You felt stronger.

But it was less rewarding when your close friend, Felix, wasn't there to give you his small smile behind the novel he was reading.

Though, if you weren't looking, and you weren't, you'd miss the fact that he had not read a single word. You'd miss the eyes the would rest upon you as you mindlessly flipped through spells. You would miss the oblivious admiration that coated the features on his face.

So that's where you decided to call it quits for the day.

You'd exhale, feeling fatigued and brainless. For a few moments, you stood around idly, attempting to regain some of your life back.

You pondered over what you'd have for lunch, unsure if you should head to the market for a hot, inexpensive meal or make do with the wares you had here.

"I should ask Felix," you thought. You were sure he'd have a solution. And an idea for a rather fun time.

To you, Felix was always a treat to be around, finding yourself enjoying his company a bit too much, perhaps. You didn't know if it was from the lack of familiarity in a foreign territory or because of his pedantic charm, but you were drawn to him.

Of course, he could say the same about you. Since Rime's passing, there had not been much excitement in his life besides the romance novels he buried his nose in. There was no one there to challenge him, to understand him in the way that Rime did, until you had showed up rather brutally.

However, you were different from Rime. You were you, and Felix loved that.

After stretching and yawning rather obnoxiously, you decided to take the liberty to go bother your buddy down the hall.

As you made your way down the expansive hall, you mentally checked off things on your to-do list.

Eyes squeezed shut to cease the gruesome image, you bursted through his door expecting to see a mangled Felix.

However, you were greeted with a harsh, shocked gasp and a view that would be burned into your mind for as long as your brain would allow.

Felix's expression was nothing less of absolutely petrified as he attempted to make his half naked form decent with just a rouge blanket.

Felix hesitantly soaked in your widened eyes and agape mouth that tried to look for some form of words to say. He could imagine this was the last display you expected to see, based on how you barged in the room.

He felt his face grow warm, the very tips of his ears burning and his hands now slightly shaky. However, the longer your eyes kept lingering on his desperate, trembling body, the more hot and bothered Felix got.

He could feel it as he stared at you. The painful, ever-increasing warmth. It started in the pit of his stomach and blossomed into his groin, causing him to push his legs together absentmindedly in hopes for some friction.

The thoughts of you using some form of untapped magic to help him finish from just across the room. The thoughts of you sitting beside him, completely taking advantage of his predicament.

Felix was getting himself worked up beyond comprehension. He looked at your rather stiff form at door, still cowering in embarrassment, and back down at his crotch, where the sheets that covered him started to form a sticky wet stain.

"H-how loud w-was I?" He managed.

"I could hear you nice and clear from just outside your room..."

Felix nodded, slowly sliding a hand underneath the blanket.

For second, you thought about immediately removing it, feeling terrible and wanting him catch his breath. To you, Felix looked almost pathetic, like a puppy begging for a treat.

His groans became more desperate. He had almost a fearful glint in his eye, but gods, he was enjoying this. And you'd be lying if you said you didn't either.

Felix knew his life was in your hands since you two had met. The many times you came to his aid whether he had a small cut or a serious injury told him so. The fact you'd give so much of yourself to him, just to make sure he could continue living another day. In a sense, you were his breath, his lungs. He owed so much to you. He knew you. He trusted you. He loved you. That doesn't stop now.

Felix hastily shook his head, still clawing at your fingers. His chest burned. His face became wet with tears that no longer threatened but promised to spill over. He was starting to see white.

The way his eyes flooded to the back of his head reminded you of the misfortunes you'd unfortunately come across on your endeavors in Astraea. In your years, you never saw a dead body, let alone have someone you know be the cause of it. And it's never something you get used to. It never gets easy. To have someone here one moment and the next moment, boom, gone, and over with. It haunted you, in your waking hazes or tormented slumbers, the blueish-greyish faces with empty eyes. You mourned. But now, it was your turn to maybe be a necromancer like Felix, holding someone on the brink, the cusp of what they want and what they fear so deeply. Just for a couple second more. A little bit more.

And you finally let go.

"Fuck! Oh gods! " He painfully managed.

He took in air like he was thirsty for water. His face had gone from the slight blue to the heated crimson it once held so well before. With his remaining energy, he fell limp onto the pile of blankets surrounding him, still sticky and hot to the touch.

"MC, please," he huffed, "touch me..."

You gave him a soft smile before crawling next to him in bed. You placed a gentle hand on his cheek, tilting it over so you could press a kiss to his head. He grabbed your wrist in an almost pleading fashion, eyes still half lidded and dark. He needed more.

"No more games. Stop this cruelty, please!" He was crying. And you loved it.

You wiped his tears before pulling him into you. He had no means of moving in combination of your strength and his overall lack of energy. He wanted to scream, he wanted to push you off him so you could fuck him until he saw the same white light as he did before. He wanted everyone in the vicinity to know that he no longer was his own person, but yours.

A FAMILIAR FELINE creeps his way to your door, walking through the corridor quietly. The gentle clank of his armor and boots were the only thing creating sound on the way to your room.

Out of all the places he could be right now, he chose to go to your room. Sage really fancied you but he always swears he doesn't like you romantically. Sage may be good at battle but he isn't known for being such a good liar.

Sage doesn't bother knocking, already quietly squeezing through your wooden door. He closes the door behind himself and exhales, letting his shoulders fall. He had been doing his regular 'Sage activities' as usual but this time you weren't able to tag along due to a cold you had caught the other day.

Since then, he wouldn't come back to your room empty handed. Wether he brings medicine from felix or anisa or even if it's just a new crystal that he had scavenged from whatever whereabouts that he won't mention. But this time he brought something different.

You hear a soft clank of metal and stir in your sleep, groaning about whatever in your dream. Whenever you had a weird dream you'd always find Saaros and torture them about it, forcing them to listen to every single detail. Though Sage bit his lip to make sure he stays quiet, his efforts go to waste when his back hits your dresser, making one of your spell books tumble to the ground loudly.

He watches your figure nearly jump out of bed, aggressively wiping your eyes. "Huh... Sage?" you tilt your head, analyzing his uncomfortable position. His armor was hanging off one of his arms and one of his gloves were hanging out of his canine in his mouth. You sigh and get out of bed, giving sage a knowing head tilt. "Sorry y/n" Sage mumbled, standing up straight.

"You're fine love." he blushes at the new nickname, but a smug expression joins the blushing. "Love huh.. i like that.." he says while you drag him to your bed. He beams when you roll your eyes and sit next time him.

The two of you share a gentle stare, admiring each others face for the first time today. Having a cold really prevented you from looking your best whenever he came over but its not like he cared. Sage has seen a lot of people at their worst and at their best; you looked absolutely beautiful to him despite your red nose and puffy face.

"Did you get hurt?" you inquired him. Sage only smirked and shuffled his hand backwards, exposing his ribcage and stomach for you to see under his clothing. The size of the newly made scar and dried up blood added about 20 pounds of stress onto your mental health. Your hand makes its way to his rib cage, gently touching the wound. He slightly flinches, watching your hand. A small giggle came from your lips.

"I know a spell, it may sting a little but It'll be quick.." you offered. He nods and directs his eyes back to your hand, watching you bring your second one to his stomach. His body subconsciously leans back when he watched you shuffle towards him. Your palms flatten on his cold skin whilst closing your eyes to focus on healing him.

Sage was kind of super happy that you decided to close your eyes because he had an intense blush spread over his cheeks with his hazel eyes watching you intently. He is no stranger to people feeling on him in different ways but he'd ever been so nervous about you platonically trying to help him.

"Sage is there anymore?" you finally open your eyes, taking a quick look at your clean palms, smiling at your work. "Uh.. Yea a couple" he stammered and sat up straight. He begins to peel off his jacket and armor but he winced the moment he tried. "I've got it, just stand up" you smiled. The creak of the floor board echos through the room when he does what he's told to. "I'm only letting you do this because I know you like to show off your powers" he chimed, watching you circling around to his back.

You take his long braid and throw it over his shoulder. "Oh Sage please do humor me when you're the one that came to my room." you rejoiced and finished removing his armor and most of his clothing. He then raises his arms and pushes his shoulders back, his joints popping quietly. His toned back being flexed right in front of you invites a smitten expression to appear on your face.

"Sage. Pants."

His motions come to a pause when you pat his hips. Sage looks at you over his shoulder and raises a brow. "Are you still trying to heal me or heal me?" he jokes regardless of the pink tint on his cheeks. When you give him an hard stare, he turns back around unbuckled his belt. "Sage you're wearing underwear right?" you asked while grabbing his belt loop. He chuckles and hides his face from you. "Lets find out y/n" he jokes before letting his pants drop with his belt.

Luckily Sage did have brown and soft briefs on. He turns towards you and kisses your forehead with a smirk decorating his lips.

You give him a tight smile and pinch his waist. "Sit."

He raises his hands defensively "Okay.. okay.. sitting down" he accepted. To your amusement, you notice a brush on the floor after taking a quick glance at his clothing on the ground. "Oh?" you tease and pick the brown brush up. Sage looks down to his hands, circling his thumbs together.

This made you absolutely happy to see.

You exhale an excited breath before gently taking hold of his thick braid. His hair was beautiful and it felt just as it looked. Despite the crazy shit he does as a lifestyle, it seemed that his hair remained to be well taken care of. "Got someone else brushing your hair Sage?" you look over his shoulder, only seeing his ears turn red at your joke.

Slowly, you undo the braid, admiring the silky texture of his hair as it flowed out of the braid almost like liquid. "Don't be rough.." Sage quietly said, scratching his neck. You don't reply and finish taking his braid out. You stand up and take a look at your reverse-work of taking his hair down. This was the first time that you've seen his hair down in some months and it was quite the sight.

Sage turns around and gives you a half smile.

"Can't get enough of me yet?"  he winks while his tail begins to wave across your bed sheets. You crawl back on your bed, maintaining eye contact with him and a teasing smirk, "who can ever have enough of sage.." you hold his chin. He doesn't hesitate to connect his lips with yours in a soft but passionate kiss. Sage's lips were warm and soft. During the kiss you could smell his natural scent that reminded you of a forest and some kind of rum that you're familiar with.

"Okay." you push him back gently. "We have things to do and.. it's 2 AM." you pat the spot next to you, encouraging Sage to join you. He ignores the blush on his face and lies down, joining you under your covers. Only ten seconds past before you're talking again. "Sage.." your arms squeeze his waist while your face was squished against the warm skin on his back.

His tail wraps around your calf's when he hums.

"Can I touch your ears?" you muttered, setting your chin on his shoulder. He stiffens and almost answers with a "What?" immediately. The seriousness in his voice gives you a hearty laugh. "You sensitive there too?" you reach behind your figure, grabbing the brush. "y/n" he dared. "Im just gonna brush.. okay?" you giggle.

His body barely relaxes before you reach the brush up to his hair, grabbing a section of hair and letting the brush gently slide through it. Sage doesn't flinch or say anything when you start brushing the top of his head. Before you even dare to get to his ears, you lift up a little bit and take a peak at his face, making sure he was at least relaxed.

As if it were a horror movie, your hand crept up to his right ear, gently laying the side of your hand rest on his head. Your fingers reach the back of his ears and you decide to start rubbing the area with your thumb. Sage inhaled sharply but continued to let you do so. "That feels good?" you peak at his face. Sage was as pink as can be but to your disappointment , you couldn't see it because of the dim moonlight. You could feel Sage purring against you and scotting back into your hands.

After bringing your second hand up and continuing the motions for about 10 minutes, a lightbulb lights up in your head.

He glanced at you

You weren’t sure at first, knowing that you’d probably receive negative attention from his female fans and make a lot of people angry

But he looked so sad and hurt that this was what his career had become, you just had to help

Soon, you two started going on fake dates at public places, where you knew you’d be photographed together

It was undeniable that youwere Seven’s motivation. 

Watching over you on CCTV wasthe high point of his day. He made sure to get his work done fast and well sothat he could switch shifts with Vanderwood to watch you.

It didn’t matter if you were just sitting there, playing on yourphone or reading; the redheaded boy adored it. He liked seeing your livereactions to the things said in the chatroom, moving your hips to the sound ofsome song while you cooked, and, God, did he love it when you laughed at something he said.

It made him feel close toyou, you were like his little secret he kept from the RFA. He liked being theonly one of them who could see you.

So that’s why when he saw youthat day, sitting on the edge of you bed, body shaking with sobs he couldn’thear and face wet with tears he could not dry, his heart sunk.

What was wrong? Why were they crying? What could have hurt them?

His first thought was to callyou, but maybe he would be invading your privacy?

Nonsense, he thought, I’mhere to protect them, I’m watching them to make sure nothing is wrong.

But right now something waswrong.

He dialed up your numberwhile watched you on the screen. 

“Hello?” A voice small answered.

“MC…” Hebreathed, “What’s wrong?”

“What? Nothing is wrong.” Yousaid as you wiped your eyes, but he knew better. He could see exactly how your face was twisted insadness.

“MC, I can see you,” Hereminded you, “remember?”

“Oh,” You said, looking up atthe camera. His breath hitched in his throat when your eyes connected, even ifyou didn’t know they did. “It’s nothing really, just some personal things.”

He was not convinced.

“MC…Please tell me what’s wrong.” He cooed.

“Don’t worry about it, I’m fine now.”

“Do you want me to go overthere?” He asked softly.

Silence.

“No, Seven, it’s fine. You’re really busy right now, I don’t want to burden you.” You told him, glancing at the camera on the corner of the room. 

You were right, he knew you were right. There was no way he could leave his house right now, especially with Vanderwood’s hawk-like gaze upon him and his whole agency ready to do unspeakable things in case he didn’t deliver.

But that didn’t ease the ache on his chest at seeing the person he cared for in pain. He took your pain as his own,  and wished dearly there was something he could do, or say. But his words weren’t good enough to comfort them, and he knew it. He never felt so useless.

“I hope…you feel better.” His voice was small. That was the best he could do? 

“Thanks…” You replied. 

Say something, Saeyoung, say something. Don’t let them go to bed upset!

“Um, I’ll get going now..” He trailed off, defeated. Useless, useless, useless. How could I possibly protect them if I can’t even get them to stop crying?

“Wait, Seven! Stay…Tell me something good.”

Through the CCTV, he could see you curling up on your bed, hugging a pillow and clutching it tightly against your chest. His heart hurt, thinking about it should be him there, not some cold, lifeless pillow.

“Something good, huh?” He mumbled, resting his head on his hand, moving the mouse over the image of your body on the screen and virtually caressing it, “Vanderwood is threatening me with their taser as we speak.”

You let out a small chuckled. A small victory for Seven-Zero-Seven!

“How is that good?”

“Because they haven’t tasered me yet,” They smiled! “And I am still talking to you.”

“You’re right,” You whispered, “That is good.”

A comfortable silence fell in between you before you spoke again.

“I’m really glad you called.”

“Of course. God7 is always watching. Always listening.” He winked, even though you couldn’t see him.

You stayed on the phone with him until you eventually fell asleep, listening to his voice tell some crazy stories about past missions. You still hadn’t told him what had made you cry, but the fact that he actually got you to feel better made his heart feel….ticklish. 

Your soft snores on the line made him smile to himself, a warm feeling creeping up on his chest as he watched your chest rise and fall rhythmically. 

“Sweet dreams, MC…”

Yoosung (Zen is in love with you)

“Don’t talk to her again.” 

Yoosung’s words were ice, and silver-haired actor didn’t even know the boy had it in him to look this menacing, his eyes cold and his voice threatening 

The blond was always insecure when it came to himself and your relationship, especially when the other members of their little organization were around

He wasn’t successful like Jumin or a genius hacker like Seven, and he felt especially uneasy around the gorgeous, multi-talented actor, Zen

 It was common for Yoosung to come to you with these insecurities, how he felt he couldn’t compare to the guys in the RFA

Despite you reassuring him time and time again that he was the one you loved, and you could never feel anything towards anyone but him, he couldn’t shake those feelings

You were beautiful, smart, funny, and most importantly, kind. Having the other guys fall for you was easy, and Yoosung always commented how Seven seemed to joke around with you more than with anyone and Jumin seemed warmed when you were around…

So when he started suspecting that Zen had feelings for you, you just waved it off as his usual paranoia

Zen had always been close to you, but lately something just seemed….off

He was asking you and you alone to go out, often without your boyfriend to go with 

His hugs lingered a bit too long for Yoosung’s liking, and he caught Zen grimacing when you two kissed

It got to a point where your phone was always blown up with his calls or texts, and Yoosung couldn’t swallow that bitter taste of jealously any longer

“Yoosung-”

“I mean it, Zen. I know what you’re trying to do. I’m not an idiot, you know. I see the way you look at her.”

Zen wanted to argue against him, he did, but he knew he was in the wrong. Was it that obvious? He wondered if you had noticed the same things your boyfriend had

With a sight of the feat, he deflated, “I know, I’m sorry. I just…I can’t help it.”

Yoosung didn’t expect this reaction. He expected him to wave him off and ridicule his feelings as per usual, telling him he was just being jealous or clingy

“S-so you admit it? You’re-”

“Yeah,” he nodded, avoiding his gaze, “I am.”

Yoosung felt as if he needed to sit down. He came to the actor’s house to make his point, to angrily accuse him of having a thing for you

But he didn’t expect such an outright confession

He didn’t want to be right! The realization that Zen, the oh-so-gorgeous-and-charming Zen, was in love with his girlfriend sent a pang of dread to settle in his stomach

“How long have you…You know.” Yoosung wanted to be angry and yell, but he couldn’t find it in him to scream at this friend who looked so broken

“It’s been a few months.” He admitted, avoiding his purple gaze and focusing on his calloused hands 

“A few months,” he repeated, the previous jealously and anger towards him rushing back, “And all this time…you’ve been trying to get with her?!” 

“No!” Insisted Zen, “Yoosung, you’re being ridiculous, I would never try-”

“I’m not being ridiculous! You’re always around her lately, always calling her and just…touching her! I can’t believe you! I thought you were supposed to be my friend?!”

“I am! I just-” He ran a hand through his hair, “I know I’ve been acting like a dick lately, but I swear I would never try anything. I would never do that, not to you or to her.”

“But if you keep acting like that, she’ll,” he swallowed, a lump in his throat forming at the mere thought of those words coming true, “She’ll end up falling for you.”

Zen was silent for a moment, before shaking his head and uttering words that stabbed him from the inside, “She loves you, Yoosung. She would never…She would never fall for me.”

“How can you be so sure?”

“Dude, are you serious? Do you not see the way she looks at you?” Zen scoffed, “Only an idiot could not see how she feels about you.”

Yoosung smiled a bit, giddy the thought of you, “Are you saying I’m an idiot?”

Zen nudged his friend, “Yes. An idiot that she loves, and that I do, too. So don’t worry about me, I’ll get over it. I will.”

He chanted those words, unsure himself of how true they really were 

“I hope so, I just…Its the first it has ever been me, you know? The first time someone chose me. I can’t let her go, I just can’t.”

“I know,” sighed the actor, “I’m sorry I was acting the way I was, I’ll try to keep my distance.”

“’Try’?”

Letting out a laugh, Zen said, “I will keep my distance. Happy now?”

“Very.” Yoosung triumphantly announced, making his way towards to door to rush back home to you

“Oh, and Yoosung?”

“Yeah?”

“Make sure she’s happy, alright?”

Yoosung gave him a smile back, and with a nod, he was gone, leaving Zen with a heavy heart and an unusually strong longing for you

He was tall, handsome, rich, intelligent, charming, the poster-boy for Accomplished…Things Yoosung bitterly reminded himself he could never be

Hell, he didn’t even know what he actually wanted to study in college, how could he even compare to the CEO-in-line, a man who could give you anything and everything you wanted?

But those thoughts didn’t stop Yoosung from pining, from wishing that you’d see him instead of Jumin

There wasn’t a single instance where you’d be logged in the chatroom and Yoosung wasn’t there, showering you with compliments and cute emojis

 He’d call you often, as well, nearly everyday for hours

And Jumin was no fool

He could count exactly how many extra seconds Yoosung’s purple gaze lingered on you, how he always seemed reluctant to pull away from what is supposed to be a friendly hug

How miserable he looked at your wedding 

These things didn’t brother your husband at first, though

Jumin knew that the words you spoke to him were honest and full of love, he didn’t doubt your feelings for him one bit

But…

As time went on and Yoosung’s feelings progressed, Jumin noticed how the blond seemed to hover more around you, a bit too much and a bit too close for his liking

The businessman rolled his eyes whenever the younger boy would seem to do anything in his power to steal your attention away

And to Jumin’s dismay, it worked sometimes

You’d often miss a dinner or movie night with him in order to go take care of Yoosung

Whether it was to help him study or to calm him down from a crisis, you dropped everything to go embrace your friend, oblivious to how tightly he hugged you and how he took in your scent when burying his face in your hair

It got to a point where it sparked a fight between you and your husband

“He is twenty years old, MC. You don’t have to take care of him every time feels upset.” Jumin argued, irritated after finding you missing from the penthouse only to come back in the late hours of night

“I don’t have to,” rolling your eyes, you said, “But he is my friend, so I want to.”

“But this isn’t like your average friendship, MC. Not to him.” Your husband pointed out, taking a seat on the couch next to you

“What are you saying?”

“I can’t help but wonder if you really can’t see it or pretend you can’t.”

You scowled, “See what?”

“He is in love with you, honey.”

And you hesitated, thinking about how there was no way that Yoosung, kind, friendly, trustworthy Yoosung could possibly have those kinds of feelings for you

“You’re crazy. Yoosung would never…”

Jumin felt himself getting aggravated, “Wouldn’t he? He calls you more often than I do, relies on you for everything, and you are spending more time with him than with me.”

“It sounds like you’re just jealous. Yoosung wouldn’t do that!”

Jumin narrowed his eyes, then deflated with a sigh

“You don’t have to get defensive. Ask him yourself if you’re so doubtful.”

You crossed your arms, annoyed at your husband’s accusations

He softened, placing a gentle hand on your folded arms, caressing your skin with the pad of his thumb, “You know I wouldn’t be saying this if I didn’t believe it to be true.”

And with that, he stood up and stalked off to your shared bedroom, leaving you alone with your thoughts

Jumin was surprised to find you home the next day when he got home from work, expecting you to be hanging around Yoosung like you usually did

“You were right,” you admitted, “It’s like you said, he is…he does have feelings for me.”

“You spoke to him?”

“Yeah…How could I have not known it before?” Burying your face in your hands, you now thought back to Yoosung’s expression when you confronted him about it, and how heartbroken he looked when you told him you couldn’t hang around him like that any longer

“You are too kind, my love,” he pulled you closer, bringing your forehead to his lips, “But sometimes it can end up backfiring. You think people are just as kind without ulterior motives.” 

You bit your lip, “I’m sure he didn’t mean any harm…I just wish I had seen it before, I’m sorry I got so defensive back there.”

“I know he didn’t mean it. And you don’t have to apologize, my love. I just wasn’t too fond of him getting all of your attention lately.”

“I wanted to be there for him, you know? 

He gave you a soft smile, his adoration for your unwavering kindness evident in his eyes, “I understand. But, please, try to limit the times you spend alone with him. Not just for me, but for him, as well. He needs to move on. He needs to understand that you aren’t his for the taking.”

Ugh. Why was magic so hard? You’ve read the texts over and over again, analyzed every sentence, infused emotion within every word. Still...all you could do was make things float. You supposed that was an improvement from where you were before, however it was less than ideal. You wanted to be of far more use than making a candle float. You saw how hard the others worked: Anisa with her sword, Sage with his strength, and Felix with his magic. Of course, you watched Felix the most. Wellll...observed would be a better, and probably more acceptable, choice of wording. You were his apprentice and he was a magical protege himself. Naturally your attention would be trained on him. You needed to. If studying the books and scriptures wasn’t working for you, then maybe watching an expert would. You found yourself mesmerized by his abilities. He often boasted of his magical prowess, but you doubted he knew just how amazing he truly was.

“Ow! You beswaling dalcop of a damned feline!” My my, speak of the devil. Though, in this case, speak of the young necromancer with a hypocritically foul mouth. Good. Now he can’t scold you when you cuss. Felix came stomping in less than a minute after his outburst, his sleeve rolled up to reveal three distinct scratches on his forearm. Within moments you were able to piece together what had happened.

“What did you do to Stella?” you called out, standing from your seat. It was time for a break anyhow. You were exhausted. In your brief time as an apprentice of the magical arts, you had come to learn, in depth, how it felt to be magically exhausted. To your surprise, being exhausted magically affected you physically. You had seen it with Felix (the man never rested), but you assumed since you were a healer things may be different. They were not.

“What did I do?” He exclaimed, his eyes lifting from his wound to you. “I’m the one with a wound etched into my flesh. She’s probably idling in the windowsill, licking the droplets of my blood from her claws.” The raven haired man sulked, moving to take a seat at his desk.

“First of all, you’re being incredibly dramatic over a scratch.” you teased. Felix scoffed, effectively proving your point. “Second of all, Stella doesn’t scratch unless it was well deserved. My best guess would be that you insulted her within scratching distance.” you hypothesized, pulling a chair up beside his desk.

“Ugh. You insult me all the time yet I bear no ill will towards you.” Felix reasoned.

“That’s not insulting, that’s sarcasm. And Felix, if you scratched me I’d flick you.” you countered, punctuating your rebuttal with a playful poke to his quickly reddening cheek.

“Yes, burden a man in pain with even more pain.” He shook his head, taking a handkerchief and dabbing the blood tentatively. It wasn’t as bad as he made it out to be.

“Oh yeah, how awful of me. However will I make it up to you?” you drawled. Banter with Felix was always the highlight of your day. He was quick witted and looked oh so cute when you fired back. “Here. I’ll heal you since you’re practically dying.” You moved to make a grab at his hand, which he retracted from you in a rush. You raised a questioning eyebrow.

“You’ve been practising your magic since lunch, correct?” You nodded. “Then it is not wise to exert yourself any further, especially not at my expense.”

Your heart swelled at the slight concern in his eyes. How such a simple act could mean so much eluded you to no extent. “You’re such a hypocrite, you know that?”

He chuckled, mimicking your earlier action, poking your cheek. “To put it lightly, I am far more concerned about your wellbeing than my own.” You frowned. How heartbreaking was that? That he refused time and time again to care for himself for the sake of others.

Your features softened as an idea crossed your mind. “Well, m’dear, if I can’t use magic from Astraea, then I’ll be forced to use a bit of magic from Earth.”

He shot you a puzzled look. “I thought you said Earth was a world devoid of magic.” You pressed a finger to his lips.

“Shush. Let me do the spell in peace.” He leaned forward a bit after swatting your arm away to better observe the process of casting your “spell”. It really wasn’t all that complicated. You simply took a hold of his injured arm, your thumb delicately stroking over the wound. It had stopped bleeding by now, keeping pressure on it had done its job. Once you determined the damage, you brought his forearm to your lips, and kissed it for a good few seconds.

His entire face burned gloriously bright. As previously mentioned, Felix was an extremely quick young man. It was a real treat to render him speechless.

“There. It’ll be all better soon. Now, I’m going to rest for a bit. Get well.” You winked, heaving yourself out of the chair. You really were exhausted, however you would dream of your temporary smoothness for weeks. Smoothity? You didn’t know, but you were smooth as hell.

You wished you could say your nap was as rejuvenating as you needed it to be, but your sleep was abruptly ended by a pained cry. You jumped out of bed as soon as the sound reached your ears. Your rush to help was less graceful than you had wanted, tripping over your discarded blankets, but you were panicked so it was okay.

“Felix! Are you alright?” you shouted worriedly, stumbling into his room. The moment you entered his room, he dove face first into his bed. Well...that had to hurt.

“I’m fine!” he choked out, obviously in pain. You were confused. He was hurt, you had heard him scream from all the way down the hall, he even looked to be in pain despite being good at hiding it.

“Felix, I know you’re not. Now stop hiding.” you chided, ripping the blankets off of him. Thus revealed the source of his pain. Similar to his forearm, there were three equally spaced scratches upon his lips. He avoided your gaze, looking everywhere else in the room but at your. “What happened? Did Stella scratch you again?” You took a seat beside him, cupping his cheeks so you could better examine the damage. It wasn’t too bad in terms of bleeding. What you were really concerned about was how this came to pass. Usually when he has a fallout with Stella he keeps his distance. He rarely gets close enough for her to scratch him, earlier was an anomaly. But twice in one day? It was unheard of. Stella, sure enough, was lounging around on the floor, looking innocently up at you. She was most definitely not innocent. She could wait though. “Felix, tell me what happened.”

“I...well...I got scratched.” “Obviously.” “I was...she was…” “...Yes?” You let him have a moment to choose his words. Really you just wanted to know if he was okay.

“I antagonized her purposely.” He finally admitted, wincing. He probably expected you to reprimand him. You wanted to, but you had a feeling he wasn’t finished. “I wanted to test your Earth magic. I have never encountered a method of healing that makes me feel better so quickly.”

You took your hands from his face. You felt guilty. If you hadn’t told him that, maybe this could have been avoided. “Felix, I was just playing around. Earth doesn’t actually have any magic. Well, not to my knowledge. It would be kickass if we did. But that’s beside the point. The ‘spell’ was something parents do to coo at their hurt kids. Y’know, ‘kiss it all better’?”

“Oh I knew that.” Felix deadpanned, his natural air of sarcasm flooding into his response. “Dear, any magic has a specific feel to it. Your ‘spell’ didn’t harbor that feeling. Although it did make me feel overwhelmingly happy. Very...very happy.” A serene smile found itself on his lips as you caught him staring at your own. You did not share in his tranquility.

“So you’re telling me you made Stella scratch you for magic you knew wasn’t magic?” This was utterly ridiculous. Just wait until Anisa hears about this. And worse! He didn’t at all seem to regret his decision.

“That is correct.”

“Even if you just wanted to see the ‘magic’, you could’ve just asked me to do it on an already existing injury. You have tons of paper cuts.” you reasoned.

“Maybe so, but none are on my lips.”

Wow. That was a bold move. Still, Felix sat there on his mattress, looking up at you with an expectant look in his eye. My god you could’ve sworn he puckered his lips a bit as well. You let out a shaky breath. He was being even smoother than you had been earlier, a little more masochistic (hurting himself for a kiss) though. “You could’ve just, oh I don’t know, said you wanted a kiss like a normal person. Sage does it all the time.”

He smirked devilishly. “Now now, what’s the fun in that? Anyhow, anything Sage does is always a prime example of what not to do.” The little shit. You were going to kiss him either way, he probably knew that. You just wanted to wipe that smug look off of his face, even for a moment. And you definitely succeeded.

You kissed him, effectively shutting him up while simultaneously finding a source of great enjoyment for yourself. Why hadn’t you done this sooner? His lips were so soft, as were his hands, the very same that had come up to caress your flushed cheeks. In turn, you buried your hands Deep within the well kept locks of his hair. He seemed to like that quite a bit, letting out a low hum.

The kiss wasn’t long, indeed it was quite short. Though, to be fair, you’re not sure that any kiss would be long enough to satisfy either of you. You parted first, your fingers traveling downward to massage the back of his neck as you admired him in silence. He really was wonderfully gorgeous.

“Well now, if it takes a scratch to initiate something like that, I’ll have to go out in the field far more frequently.” That earned him a smack on the side of the head.

“Ask! Felix, all you need to do is ask. I know you are more inclined to take the over dramatic route, but you don’t have to!” You pushed him backwards so that his back lay flush against the mattress. That certainly stopped any snarky retort from being made. “Now, I’m exhausted.” You awkwardly made a move to get off of him. “So I’m gonna-“

“Stay!” He cried out, almost desperately. He had wrapped his arms around you, pulling your against him as he pleaded with you. “I...my apologies. It isn’t my intention to force you to stay. I...I’m asking you to stay. Please.”

You grinned. “Would you look at that? Progress. You’re actually asking. How could I possibly refuse?” So, you stayed the rest of the day. You talked, you laughed, you reminisced, and most importantly…you kissed. You would share so many kisses from that point on, but you would never forget your first. How could you? He kissed your boring, provincial life better.
