“When the Meadow is Awake”, acrylic on canvas

—This artwork took roughly four months to finish with impulsive revisions. The textures are not intentional but because I kept painting over, the paints thickened…so did my frustration. I literally cried during the process of finishing because my emotions were also creating their own palette 😅

I’ve only just started getting the hang of acrylics so I’m a bit nervous about posting this but I hope it’s still worth sharing!

Feeling physical exhaustion as a psychosomatic reaction to things that feel daunting or intimidating is such a ridiculously counterproductive thing to do. Like there's a situation that requires you to be alert and mentally present and paying attention, and your brain just goes "hey I don't wanna. I don't wanna be here. How about going unconscious instead. No fuck you we're warping out. Night night."
