as a disabled italian imma say this but some of yall on disability tumblr really do treat disabilities like football teams
i will help you but because of how you treated people like me, i will never feel truly safe with people like you, and thatâs completely your fault. i will help you buy youâre not helping yourself.
all this time and i never realized the thing around kermit the frog's neck is meant to be a jester's collar and isn't just a part of his skin
A Jester? Or perhaps... a Joker...

i feel like a lot of people on this site could be described by this đ€
If we can't rid the queer community of anti-masculinity, you will always be imposing a level of womanhood on trans men, which is inherently transphobic. A trans man should be able to live his life, embody his own masculinity without being admonished for it by people who claim to be progressive. Degendering us is not a compliment, malgendering us is not gender affirming. Women are not more virtuous than men and that sentiment is misogynistic.
We're men and we deserve basic human respect as any other person should be given. That basic human respect is respecting our identity, realizing your biases and hangups with our identities have nothing to do with us and should not be imposed on us. Imposing biases on others' identities is exactly what conservative bigots do, there is no 'woke' way to do that.
the leftist rebranding of anti-autism ableism and cultural shift in conservatism
been taking a break from tumblr and have been watching some video essays, people are talking about how thereâs a sudden shift in conservatism and i noticed. such as the âold money/quiet luxuryâ style (if you go to any store everything is beige now, âzara skiâ drama etc.) , people removing their tattoos, the calling gnc girls âpick mesâ or even just girls who are feminine but donât wear makeup.
anyway i think iâve noticed something similar in the autism community. iâm seeing a lot of takes such as autism $peaks is good actually, lsn/late diagnosed people are whiny/quirky white girls on tiktok, autistic people get yelled at for relating to a post with their own story despite that being a literal autism symptom. people are being shamed for not having âmasculineâ special interests, iâve seen posts making fun of ppl who canât do small talk and they were seemingly leftist and autistic themselves!
the same is being done to adhd, despite the fact that it can be extremely disabling depending on the severity. like autism. this all in leftist spaces, people saying adhd people donât have it bad enough/arenât really disabled, but (iâm not american so correct me if iâm wrong here) who are the wellness camps getting proposed for?
iâve seen plenty of âother autistic people have it worse than youâ, âaba is good actuallyâ that sounds like the stuff that would come out of autism parents or gossip forums. and sometimes iâve seen t*rfs spouting this same rhetoric. i wonder if the shift in conservatism is the reason for all this phenomenon. what are your thoughts?
edit: i think thereâs a sexist component too. because this all started happening as soon as women started getting diagnosed more đ€
Normalize saying âoh, okayâ and leaving it at that.
people arenât âtaking away your voiceâ by disabling comments holy shit. just make your own post like you always do. they did it on a site that is full of shitty people and bots, the world doesnât revolve around you. they likely didnât want hatetul comments from c*nserv*tives (which you sound like, since youâre basically whining about freedom of speech on a private platform). chill.
"For women, only one standard of female beauty is sanctioned: the girl. The great advantage men have is that our culture allows two standards of male beauty: the boy and the man. The beauty of a boy resembles the beauty of a girl. In both sexes it is a fragile kind of beauty and flourishes naturally only in the early part of the life-cycle. Happily, men are able to accept themselves under another standard of good looks â heavier, rougher, more thickly built. A man does not grieve when he loses the smooth, unlined, hairless skin of a boy. For he has only exchanged one form of attractiveness for another: the darker skin of a manâs face, roughened by daily shaving, showing the marks of emotion and the normal lines of age. There is no equivalent of this second standard for women. The single standard of beauty for women dictates that they must go on having clear skin. Every wrinkle, every line, every gray hair, is a defeat. No wonder that no boy minds becoming a man, while even the passage from girlhood to early womanhood is experienced by many women as their downfall, for all women are trained to want to continue looking like girls." â Excerpt from Susan Sontag's 1978 essay The Double Standard of Aging
people hate to hear this but is it a look or are they just skinny is the realest sentence ever uttered
like you guys know "oppression olympics" was an anti-sjw buzzword meant to demean discussions of material social dynamics, right?
It does not matter where terms come from
it doesn't confer some magical curse or anything but also i do think that pointing out a term for "actually talking about oppression is meaningless" was coined by reactionary conservatives is, in fact, quite meaningful and relevant to the discussion.
It was not coined by conservatives, it was coined by longterm chicana feminist activist Elizabeth Martinez in a conversation with Angela Davis. This term is not to shut down discussions but to bring up that identity does not determine the correctness of one's argument.
"every possible kind of content can be found on the internet" yeah sure except for the One fucking thing I'm looking for. why does no one want to talk about the One Singular thing I'm looking for. but yeah other than that everything is on here.
i always forget about the ides of march and miss them iâm so sad :(
i think it should be ok to admit that youâre jealous of someone without having to make up a morally correct reason for why you hate them but idk
super odd i saw someone keep interacting with a mutual, being friends, reblogging their post when i clearly remember them vagueing about said mutual, being jealous and straight up saying they thought the person didnât deserve a good thing as much as them months ago. i guess they made up? đ
