@melly0990
was it this arm that's raised?
The fundamental thing about Endeavor is that the story treats him like he was just kind of a jerk too absorbed with work when he was actually dangerously close to Shou Tucker levels of World's Best Anime Dad
Red is the colour of Heroes
"Oh but endeavor is trying to change to be a better person"
Well great! I guess he wins the "not as much of a jerk as you could have been" award

Regarding the league post, that's an interesting question. I haven't actually finished the manga yet so take this with a grain of salt, but Tomura does seem very insular in his caring of other people.
While he does have surprisingly healthy attachments to them, he doesn't seem to consider his destruction as helping anyone but him.
To put it terribly crudely, he is probably more just attempting to emotionally regulate than create an utopia.
He isn't shown to have intuition for doing good on a whim (expected given how he was raised) nor does he ever even think about casualties.
Compounding that with his memories from before meeting AFO being spotty on a good day, I think we could get the incredibly ironic scene of him telling the kid that people are definitely going to help them because they aren't relying on Heroes anymore.
(The league post in question)
Yea agree to this, he does bring up good points about the system but it's not like he has an altruistic vision, it's more or less just to help himself and his buddies
Based on that hypothetical scene He seems to assert his negative viewpoints on heroes to the kid and I doubt that's the only time he does in this scenario.
I adore them but I struggle with the line of argument that the lov should have been left to their own devices to do whatever they wanted.
It's a logical fallacy to think that because the heroes are in the wrong, their antagonists are automatically right.
And don't get me wrong, the lov is in the right philosophically. But from a practical standpoint large scale destruction, societal destabilization and killing of the powers that be, historically led to negative rather than positive outcomes, both short and long term.
It decreases quality of life for everyone and increases fear and radicalization among the populace. This allows the either strongest militia or crowd-savviest populist around to fill the created power vacuum. Neither guarantees an improvement from the previous status quo.
Also, indiscriminate mass destruction would absolutely lead to More people ignoring a blood-covered and terrified child instead of less. Because a 5 year old becoming homeless after having their home collapse and the entire family die would become the norm instead of a freak accident.
Tldr: Tomura is a good kid with understandable motivations but god damn did he need Help
Yea I agree with this, which is why my preferred ending for the lov would be for them to live, face the consequences of they're actions and heal
Although I do wonder if in a scenario whare the lov succeeded in they're main goal how would tomura feel when he sees a blood covered and terrified kid being ignored amidst all the destruction he and the lov caused? And what would he do?
ya gotta stop caring what people think and start being extremely weird. but never cruel. i think that might save you
there's a really interesting (and definitely unintentional) parallel between Izuku and Touya in the way they're both willing to potentially cripple themselves using a quirk that's too powerful for their bodies due to expectations placed on them by a pro hero they admire, which leads them both to a state where their senses of self-worth are at risk of collapse if/when they're unable to meet those expectations.
Touya was young and impressionable when he was met with the expectation of being a hero strong enough to defeat All Might and the story tells us that he's incredibly aware of the fact that Enji is only having children for that purpose. as soon as Touya wasn't able to meet expectations he was cast aside, but he continued to train despite burning himself repeatedly because he was desperate for approval and love and had no sense of self-worth outside of his quirk and heroics because Enji is an emotionally neglectful parent who saw no worth in a child who couldn't reach the potential he required of them. this neglect eventually leads Touya down an increasingly (self)destructive path.
with Izuku it's a little different. he wasn't born into expectations he couldn't meet, but his sense of self-worth is still tied to heroics as a career, even before meeting All Might. at the start of the series, Izuku has known he's quirkless for roughly a decade, yet he hasn't entirely given up on his pipe dream of being a pro hero and seems to reject other career paths that would also allow him to help others. he has a low sense of self-worth (in part thanks to Bakugou's bullying), and though Izuku is a good hero in the future with a genuine want to save others it's also important to note that part of his want to be a hero is also a want to be an admirable inspiration to others the way All Might was to him. Izuku wants to be a hero because of the way it would make him feel. and then he meets All Might, who he admires (hero worships) more than anyone else in the world, and suddenly his pipe dream is a reality. Toshinori doesn't necessarily mean to bury Izuku under the weight of expectations the same was as Enji did to Touya, but those expectations exist all the same. Izuku gains a power his body isn't initially compatible with and he suffers because of it by repeatedly and traumatically breaking his own bones because All Might gave him a quirk, and with that quirk came a sense of purpose and expectations of greatness. Toshinori talks a lot about Izuku being the next symbol of peace and Izuku debuting himself to the world during the sport's festival. that's a lot of pressure to put on a child. and Izuku often has moments where he thinks he's fallen short and All Might may regret choosing him as a successor.
in both cases, a child puts himself under immense pressure and causes himself physical harm in order to meet the expectations of his hero. Touya needs to meet Enji's expectations because if he can't than why was he born and what right does he have to exist; Izuku needs to meet All Might's expectations because if he can't then All Might could change his mind and regret making Izuku his successor, and that takes away Izuku's only chance at becoming a hero.
Oooooh! Even if it's unintentional, Op you cooked
Imagine in a touya lives au, izuku realizes they have such striking Similarties with both of them risk hurting they're bodies by using they're quirks just to achieve they're goals and the expectations of they're mentors
Izuku visits him and talks to him about this, a very "We're not so different you and i" conversation, touya snorts at this and waves it off but he does take some solace in it and somewhat acknowledges it a little bit
Maybe they get to chat some more, with izuku going on a tangent on how touya could use his quirk effectively without hurting himself, the latter gets a bit weirded out since he's not used to overthinking analysis like this but he admits to himself secretly it is a nice change of pace.
the way every member of the LOV represents a different problem in the bnha universe and hero society, but then none of those problems are actually solved
Between shigaraki and dabi, which one of them is more likely to call shiketsu schmucktsu high academy?

Hello! Your rehab au is really cool, I like it :)
Therefore I'd like to ask you something about it
When eri rewinded shigaraki before afo possessed him and he remembers everything now, why did he chose to surrender the war?
Thank you!
[SPOILERS!]
Well after hearing AFO' whole scheme, like how he intervened in his family's affairs (convincing his father to have more kids/taking tenkos quirk and givin decay/being more strict with his kids)
In my AU, that's when eri rewinded him and I can see him being shell shocked from getting all that info at once, plus the added effect of rewind on his body probably had him feeling all kinds of things.
He could of still fought in all honesty, with decay [he didn't know yet that AFO was erased from his body] but his body was sore. He just found out his whole life was a ploy by AFO to get back at an old rival, and now there was some crying girl in his arms while surrounded by heros.
In the end, he was tired and felt like his whole world just shattered.
Later on while imprisoned, he did regret it. Since he thought he let what was left of the leauge down, though luckily that was not the case when he reunited with them!

Ahhhh I love talking about this AU! Thanks for the question!
Your welcome! ^-^
Honsetly that's pretty intriguing because that more or less kinda parallels at the end of his fight with re destro at the my villian academia arc, in there he was physically injured but felt great euphoria with his awakening from his past with full determination and stood tall againts a defeated re destro, here he was technically physically healed thanks to rewind but he was mentally tired from not only learning about afo's plans on him when he was younger but from also being possessed by him therefore he stood down againts izuku and surrenderd while feeling exhausted
if y’all see this floating around: yes, it’s from me, and yes, you can find the original post on hoyolab under the same user <3

something i have been wondering that, in a case where the villains specifically shigaraki, is saved, what would become of him?
i feel like one way or another, people like toga or even dabi can have a chance of redemption. But Shigaraki? the symbol of fear, the leader of LOV, the guy who wrecked the most havoc? Even if he didn't die, he would be locked up until he dies one way or another. Even if regrets his actions, there is no way he would be able to live a normal life. The public would never want him around.
so my question is, Is there any way Shigaraki could live as a somewhat normal member of society? and how?
Here's an answer for you to think about: shigaraki in a rehabilitation center?
