This is a sideblog I created to share all of my original art and writing, and to share art I love from others. For my own peace of mind, this blog is going to be 18+ only.
I am a self-taught, hobbyist writer and digital artist with a growing love for the furry community. I'm also a butch dyke with a day job in ecology!
I have two fursonas: Melon, my goofy tiger fursona, and Pyrouge, my quieter, more inquisitive dragonsona.
See a character you want to learn more about? You can start with my Original Character Masterpost!
Current Projects:
-> Various Furry WIPs: Working on more short-story writing, with the hope that I can get a few published eventually!
-> Crepuscular Hours: Working on building out the world and characters for a personal setting! Writing some short stories set in this world as well.

Common blog tags can be found below the cut. I try to tag things for organization, but I'm not always consistent.
General Tags:
#My Art, #My Writing <- Where you can find my original work
#Other's Art, #Other's Writing <- Art I've shared by other artists
#Furry Art, #Butch Art #Tiger Tag, #Dragon Tag <- General tags for stuff I like :)
Original Character Tags:
#My Ocs <- General catch-all tag for all of my original characters
Not putting in all the individual OC tags, but all posts with my OCs will be tagged with OC: their name. I'll also be sharing posts that make me think of them under those tags.
Sona Tags:
Similarly to my OCs, my sonas will be tagged under Sona: name.
Anyway enough seething. Go reblog and compliment your mutuals oc rambles right now. Send them an ask even. If you're feeling avant garde and outrageous send them a dm going "Your ocs are so cool can we play barbies and hit my ocs and your ocs together violently. Or sexually. Or humorously."
Human connection can save you and your creative project I'm dead serious. Having caring people around me has been the biggest legitimate creative motivator
Content Warning: Bigotry (transphobia, homophobia, ableism) including usage of slurs. Additional warnings will apply for future chapters.
When working a temporary job at a meatpacking plant, Frankie meets a mysterious individual with a dangerous air. The deeper she finds herself drawn in, the more she discovers that nothing is as it seems.
Author's Note: I wanted to share the first part of a character exploration piece that I've put up on Toyhouse. I expect there to be at least two more parts of similar length to this one, if not longer.
Once it's completed, I will share the full piece here and on my Substack.
Preview below the cut.
He appeared nearly halfway through their second shift, when the sky began to grow to a more faded shade of gray but the sun hadn’t yet crested the shelled-out carcasses of the surrounding slaughterhouses. There was no noise, just the feeling of hair rising on the back of her neck, and when Frankie turned away from the truck she saw him.
They were loading trucks in the frigid November air, trying to keep their hands from going numb by sticking them under their arm pits when they walked back from the truck to get another case. Normally snow on the ground meant they could move more slowly when packing freezer trucks, but there was a huge push from management to get product out on shelves before Thanksgiving. Which meant the processing plant needed temporary workers to move shit for shit-- and so last week James went around the bar and gathered up a crew to schlep greasy boxes of pig flesh for fifteen hours a day.
He was tall, taller than most of the other men who worked in the meatpacking plant, but gaunt. He had greasy, pale blonde hair and even paler skin. He wore a bloodstained smock and a lit cigarette dangled from one bony hand. He leaned against the wall just near the door that led inside the plant from the loading dock, watching them shuffle through the snow and load boxes.
Frankie made eye contact with him and stiffened. His eyes were a dull, glassy blue that nonetheless seemed to pin her in place. If there was emotion there, she couldn’t read it, but there was a gleam of something cold in his gaze that hovered just above vacancy. There were people who looked at you and saw you as more than what you were, who could reach through your eyes and pick at the details of your soul through your body. This was the opposite-- when he looked at Frankie, it was as if he saw her and only her. The flesh, the meat, the bones, nothing else attached to it and no interest in what he did see. She shivered, even though she forgot the cold.
He stood outside and smoked his cigarette, stretching his fifteen minutes into twenty, then finally ground the stub into the slush underneath his boot and went back inside. Frankie waited another five minutes and then sidled up to Charlie while they were both in the truck.
“Did you see that guy?” She hissed.
“What, the guy out here smoking?” Charlie set her box down, then glanced over at the loading dock door. “Yeah, I did. He was out here for a while. He say anything to you?”
“No. But there was something fucking weird about him. I felt like he was watching me.”
“You’re just paranoid, kid.” Charlie clapped her on the shoulder and steered her out of the truck. “C’mon, we’ve still got two more trucks to pack after this.”
The air temperature dropped, and snow began to dwindle down from the sky. Frankie tipped her head back towards the sky, but when she closed her eyes she still felt watched.
Thanks for reading! You can read the full chapter on Toyhouse.
I guess she also can't drown? I mean she can still drown it's just she would be brought back to life by the water content in any reasonably obtainable liquid, she could be killed via molten metal I suppose but that's not exactly a trait unique to her
Powers Rav has that she doesn't use because she thinks they're freaky/gross/impractical/weird:
Can receive messages and spiritual solicitations via the mouths of aquatic creatures (living or dead) (she doesn't have a choice with this one to be fair)
Can travel through water very quickly over long distances
Can see visions in water of the present/scry on specific events or people
Can imbue water to cause illness (curse it)
Can fly/levitate in the rain or fog
Can see and cause apparitions in the rain/fog
Can scry basic knowledge of the future from the entrails of aquatic creatures
Can't shapeshift but could probably inhabit the body of an aquatic creature/compel it to do her bidding
If you do not have a job then it's your duty to post about the characters Constantly. If you do have a job then it's your duty to imagine the characters in your job and also to neglect your job so you can post about the characters Constantly

There are hardly any female werewolves because they break all the classic rules of femininity. They force you to confront female violence, strength, size, grotesqueness and uncontrollability. Historically female shapeshifters always shift into something dangerous (snake) or sleek (cat) or dainty (bird) but female werewolves ignore the masculine gaze completely. They're distorted beasts that have no ulterior motive except to destroy. Nothing about them is nurturing or modest. They're the opposite of what a woman "should be." Their omission from pop culture is not an accident.
I thought I would make a post where I briefly introduce all the major characters I fool around with in my head. There's a lot, and their lore is subject to change, but this is the basic gist of who you'll see around on this blog.

Crepuscular Hours | Supernatural horror set in the 80s, 90s, and 00s.
Rav Murphy (she/her) -- A supernatural bounty hunter who made a pact with a powerful magical entity in exchange for her life. Travels around the US working for anyone in the supernatural community who needs something handled discreetly. The messy ex of Silver, who she tracks down and reunites with after their shared past catches up with her.
Silver (she/they/he/it) -- Born a wolf in the woods of Montana, Silver's werewolf metamorphosis was disrupted when she was captured by the FBI for study. Freed by Rav, in the years since their breakup she's been struggling to find her place as an outcast among both humans and werewolves. Of course Rav turns up on her doorstep when she finally seems to have something stable.
Jacqueline "Jack" Coates (she/he) -- A vampire who's been stalking in the dark since the 1600s. While not without morals, she has her own agenda and enjoys watching people squirm. She plays her cards close to her chest and likes interesting prey.
Li "Eileen" Kao (she/her) -- An unassuming, middle-aged woman who comes across as a meek doormat to her coworkers, she harbors a dark secret-- an all-consuming fascination with illicit gore and snuff tapes. She's drawn into Jack's coterie reluctantly, equal parts terrified and fascinated by the vampire.
Fabio Molina (he/him) -- Dragons live for a very long time, and Fabio is no exception. He is on his fourth or fifth human form and is trying to keep his head low after killing a well-respected rival. Unfortunately for him, Jack rouses him from his slumber and drags him into her schemes.
Royal Dragons | Dark comedy crime/action set in a fictional near-future, with no pretenses about being realistic
Duke Ragusea (she/her) -- The leader of a criminal organization and the owner of a hotel chain, Duke takes every opportunity she can to make money. A connoisseur of violence with a mean vindictive streak, Duke thinks big and acts bigger. Her ability to keep a cool head hides her love for chaos, which is probably why she gets along with Baron so well.
Baron Lee (she/her) -- The right-hand man to Duke. Immature, impulsive, and gleefully violent, Baron is generally considered to be annoying by pretty much everyone who meets her. What she lacks in maturity she makes up for in cunning and quick thinking. Utterly loyal to Duke, despite every single interpersonal relationship she has being an utter disaster.
The Guardians of Hansa Woods | Slice of life ecological fantasy
Rosa "Roe" Miller (she/her) -- An ecologist and fishing guide who lives and works in Hansa woods, a preservation for magical and non-magical creatures alike. She loves her job and home, but is struggling with personal loss and the financial decline of the entire surrounding town.
Sock (he/they) -- In exchange for his life being saved by Roe, Sock decided to follow her around and eat all the fish she catches. A river dragon who enjoys long, lazy days in the sun and eating the choicest salmon he can find. He's also very knowledgeable about magic, but he can rarely be prodded to actually share that information with his companion.
Untitled Furry Fantasy | Pulpy adult fantasy adventures
Gale (she/her) -- A maned lioness banished from her home, Gale is a formidable warrior and skilled adventurer. She agreed to become Amaranth's familiar when she stumbled upon the sorcerer's crypt. Gruff and loyal to a fault, Gale will do anything to see Amaranth's vision for the world brought to fruition.
Amaranth (she/they) -- The most notorious sorcerer in the world, some would argue that Amaranth already ended the world once. She would say she hasn't even gotten started. After being betrayed and entombed for hundreds of years, she was finally able to be freed after Gale stumbled upon her jail. Determined and ambitious, the one thing Amaranth prizes more than her goals is her affection for Gale.
Sonas | Characters that represent me
Melon (they/them) -- Melon is a melanistic (get it?) tiger and my primary fursona! They're a big 'ole butch dyke with an outgoing purrrr-sonality and a great love for trying new things. They enjoy meeting new people and making them laugh… though their amicable attitude is often at odds with their cynical worldview! Melon can tend to be a bit of a pessimist about the world, but figures that they might as well have a good time and live a life full of joy regardless. My primary sona!
Pyrouge (they/them) -- My dragonsona! Pyrouge is a little more personal but generally represents my more pensive, quiet parts of my personality. I use them less often but love them just as much.
Fan Characters | Original characters in settings that aren't mine
Shuck Delgado (she/her) | Cyberpunk 2077 -- An ex-Biotechnica experiment and current nomad, Shuck is dodging death every day of her life.
More to come... I'm always making new characters and tweaking old ones!
More Art Fight! This time it's a bushel of butches. Every year I stalk the butch tag on Art Fight and every year I'm delighted that there's more characters in there.
