DAY 9
My prompt this week was âPopâ, so I did a gumball. Used the opportunity to take some of the techniques Iâve been learning in class and applying it towards digital painting (which I know pretty much nothing about!)

DAY 9
My prompt this week was âPopâ, so I did a gumball. Used the opportunity to take some of the techniques Iâve been learning in class and applying it towards digital painting (which I know pretty much nothing about!)
DAY 8 This is it for today, not a lot of time. Stayed over my piece for my monthly prompt, and I'm much happier with how is coming out. To be continued!
DAY 7 Somehow I missed 3 days already? Do I even bother numbering them at this point? Anyhow, Art Class Sunday! Get used to seeing these little unfinished black and white still life studies every Sunday for a long time. I'll be doing this for a while đ
DAY 6 My ArtSnacks came today, so I used them to do the #artsnackschallenge. Coincidentally, I got watercolor paint (not watercolor cakes). It was so much more fun, and user friendly
DAY 5 (which should be day 6. I already missed a day đŁ) My weekly prompt this week was "Thunder ", so I thought this might be good time to try watercolor. Then I realized WATERCOLOR IS HARD, YO What I learned: - don't use cheap paper. It will curl like my hair on a humid day. No matter how well I tape it down - don't use cheap brushes. Every single bristle will be embedded in your painting by the time you are done - wait for stuff to dry. BE PATIENT - frisket is not only fun to say, it's fun to use!
DAY 4 This is it. This is all I've done. I drew her body like 5 times ands can't get it right. Instead of looking hunched over, she just looked like she had no neck. So I gave up and erased it all. Now it's time to do drink beer and celebrate 'Merica.
DAY 3
Art class day! Second week of oil painting, after almost a year of charcoal drawing. Didnât have time to finish, obviously.
DAY 2 Holiday weekend, very busy and still not feeling well. Had to sit down for 30 minutes while the kid was napping to get something done! Wanted to do some practice sketches for the piece to fulfill my monthly prompt, "Journey Home". Not sure how I'm going to completely execute it yet, but I know what I want to do. The eyes will be important. Fierce yet relieved. Gonna need to practice those a lot more to get it right. I have a month to get it right! I think my piece might be to ambitious for my skills đ
DAY 1
The start to my self imposed art challenge (make art every day for at least 30 days) didnât start off so well. Tired, under the weather, dealing with a tired and under the weather toddlerâŠdoesnât make for time or desire to do anything. BUT! I sat down for 15ish minutes and did some gesture drawing. AT LEAST I DID SOMETHING
