Hello, Mickey here! Or, as I’m known within Heart Attack: Mod Chad!
I see that our group has been brought into this and would like to civilly address a few things, if I may.
Before I begin, I would like to state that I truly wish that the DD team had come to us about this before it occurred. At the very least, I would rather be addressed myself, than those in the hopeful’s chat be unwillingly put in a post of which they were not aware. With that, I will get on with my response.
RE: The very first screenshot you provided:
First, the Oikawa in reference is Oikawa Tooru from the series Haikyuu! (a favorite character of user lily). Second, there is actually a little more to that specific screenshot!
*the middle user wished to remain anonymous for privacy reasons
By the whole message, user lily was simply retelling an event that occurred to them. Not only is Oikawa not their own oc, but said porn wasn’t even something they asked for. I can understand how a single screenshot of one message can make things a little confusing!
RE: Second and Third screenshot:
Those in the HA hopeful’s server have divorced the terms “Tops” and “Bottoms” as something explicitly sexual, and instead something akin to teasing. I understand that this can be more on a case to case basis, and wouldn’t impose such a thing on anyone if it made them uncomfortable. Again, out of context, I can see where these screenshots can be misleading!
The “Bottom” role in the chat was created as a bit of a one-off joke. After some humor over it, the “Top” role was actually requested (in line with the joke).
However, we understand as Mods that not everyone will have the same humor/comfort level with certain things as we would. And, as Mods of the group, we take it as a responsibility to address when someone is uncomfortable/when triggers and squicks are brought up.
The “peg” comment was not by someone on the mod team, and has since been addressed. It was intended as a joke ala the user’s particularly humor, of which we can only monitor and not directly control. Granted, it did take a bit, I will own up to that. Speaking for myself, I work most of the week and some things slip past my radar. This is not an excuse, though, as I should have been more aware of it. We take NSFW content very seriously, as shown on our blog FAQ,
And, all users with said assigned roles either requested to be added to those roles, or had similar humor.
RE: “ There are literal minors in this server and none of this is happening in a nsfw channel, it’s all out in the open. “
At the time that the roles were made and several jokes were made, there were no minors in the chat. We had no intention of an NSFW chat because 1.) The mods found no need for such a thing withing in a hopeful’s server. 2.) Any legitimate NSFW content would be addressed either by mods or users within the chat. In fact, quite a few comments/jokes early on were made when there were less than a dozen people in the chat! Much of the talk in the server since has been pretty much as you can expect of a hopeful’s chat!
RE: “ This group will have you believe the worst of us, yet they’re just as bad. At least we don’t harass people. “
This is something in particular I would also see fit to being addressed by the mod team! By my knowledge, none of us have sent any messages to the DD blog or to the mods themselves? I honestly have no history with RD/DD or even any of the mods (aside from possibly seeing them in other servers, but not quite a whole conversation) And I personally have no affiliation with the blog “theirdespair”. In fact, here’s a list of the blogs I am currently affiliated with!
If messages have been sent by users in the server, I would like to think that they wouldn’t reflect the group in whole. It is a hopeful’s server, so not everyone in there is exactly associated with Heart Attack in it’s entirety.
If there has been any harassment by the mod team, would it be too much to ask that I see such evidence? Either by our ask box, a DM to a mod, or even just a reply to this post! Such transgressions are quite serious and should be dealt with immediately.
As such, as much as I would hope that no one in the server would go so far as to harass mods on our behalf. The mod team does not take on “attack dogs”, if I had to choose the term. If I had anything to say to the mods of DD, the very least I could do would be to speak off anon.
I am sorry that such messages have implicated our group. To my personal knowledge, the mods have done no such thing.
Again, if there are any question you would like to send our way, or further concerns you would like us to address, our ask box is always open.
