Susie is also a self-sacrificial teenager in a suicidal way, Susie has her own problems, Just because she’s more humorous a lot of the time it doesn’t really change that part of her character

Actually, to add on to my last post, I wanted to go back and re-read to see if any of Lucy's friends have stepped in to defend her against people creeping on her.

All of these early instances? Mike was either the one directly pushing back (usually AGAINST Paulo) or supporting her pushing back.

The earliest instance we see of her getting hit on, she jumps immediately to cling to Mike:

Even her new security blanket best friend, Augustus, is pretty dismissive of her:

I know this is their older relationship, but he hasn't once stepped in to show himself as a good defender when it comes to harassment before or since. He'll stick up for her against Mike, but he hasn't pushed back against Paulo hitting on her in front of him.

Tessa is literally the only one out of the old friend group that stood up for her regularly:

Daisy has never once pushed back, and we know her thoughts on the matter. Sue has never once pushed back, despite her dislike of Paulo & friendliness towards Lucy. Paulo was the direct source a lot of the time, and never apologized for it. Mike is the only available person that would make her feel safe to any degree.

Right. It was a different name, back then. She would have gone back home, and never told anyone about what happened that night. She would probably never forget it. Maybe she'd convince herself it wasn't her fault. In any case, she would certainly quit her “hobby”.

Big brother. That is, she had an older brother who loved her very much. It was thanks to him that she had a roof over her head at all.

No. Never did. To be honest, I can hardly remember the details. Not that I tried very hard. It's upsetting to think about. I'm sure I'll remember it eventually, even if I don't want to.

She hated dreaming. Always said it was pointless, and would only lead to disappointment. That's why I can't think of any specific wishes she might have had. She would say she had none, but I don't think that's possible. Maybe it's enough to say she wished to feel safe.

To her, this question was a difficult one to answer. Every single person was evil. Perhaps not in the same ways, or to the same extents, but that was simply a matter of opportunity (or lack thereof). In the end, she answered: “to be human.”

Q. 06 - DOES ANYONE HERE SCARE YOU?

It was a silly question. Everyone scared her. In that place, however, there were two people who scared her more than usual. I can remember one quite clearly, but the other is nothing more than a vague silhouette. I'm sure something happened between him and her. Ah. The Warden was scary, too. Not like me.

Q. 01 - WHAT IS YOUR MOST TREASURED POSSESSION?

An old, child-sized umbrella. It was a gift from a dear friend, carefully hidden from view in her closet. Every now and then, she would bring it out to clear the dust off of it. Why did she hold onto it all that time? Looking at it only ever made her heart ache.

Q. 02 - WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PLACE?

It's not that people have favorite places, it's that they associate those places with certain people or events. Broadly speaking, of course. In that way, they are more like favorite memories. As for her, there wasn't a single memory she would mind forgetting.

Q. 03 - WHAT IS THE MEANING OF YOUR NAME?

It could mean any number of things. Her parents had decided to keep it simple, so it didn't have a specific meaning. In informal settings, she liked to spell it as what soon became her favorite kanji: 霊 (spirit).
