An actually useful chart, unlike the one for the laundry I posted a while back.

It was about time to make a new cotton warp. To clarify what a warp is for non-weavers; it is the basis of a woven fabric, the stretched threads on the loom in which a design is woven. Since I am using traditional Cypriot looms, I make my warp in the traditional way, which is quite physical (but still enjoyable) and takes a couple of hours to complete.
The process is done on a wall in my workshop, on which two rows of wooden pegs are secured and spaced a few meters apart. The pegs help to align and tension the threads properly as well as keep an even length throughout the warp.
In the end, the warp is taken off the pegs and wound into a big ball, ready to be threaded on the loom (the ball is quite heavy so you can see my husband’s arms holding it in the last photo)!
I will be posting a video documenting the whole process soon.

Been dipping into my hibernating projects box in between pattern writing. I picked up this handpainted yarn years ago & couldn’t find a thing to make with it, so I wrote up my own pattern for daisy stitch gloves. They’re obnoxiously bright and I adore them.
Pattern is available for free on Ravelry
