The glorious moment of the discovery of Wasters' Island was captured by an overenthusiastic photographer on August 30, 1918. As one may notice from the picture, we had been rowing for days then, with no food or anything to quench our thirst with, and no sign of civilization in sight. If Feri doesn't catch a glimpse of land in the far, far distance we wouldn't have survived..
