Heeello! I am Meowiarty and I plan on posting Voltage Guides since the Main Source of Voltage Inc Otome Games, Otome Otaku Girl, seems to have disappeared from us and no longer posts. I’ll mainly try to do ones that they haven’t, such as Oops! I said Yes and Romance MD Season 2 and onwards.

For older games, I recommend Otome Otaku Girl. And since I have been bitten by the Masquerade Kiss bug, I now will occasionally do some LC, primarily looking at Masquerade Kiss/The World With(out) You!

Let’s see. Depending on the series type, I might do requests for guides? I have most of Voltage Titles with some exceptions.

I’m also planning on doing a bit of a collection of Voltage Tropes - such as Amnesia Trope, Pregnancy Trope, etc. if you have ideas of other tropes for me to keep track of, I will. This is primarily for my own amusement and if someone doesn’t like that trope, they could avoid it ahead of time.

So that’s me. Throwing my hat into the ring!

Finally got a release date for Fire Emblem Fortunes Weave! September 17th! I’ll be looking forward to that date every single day. I will be calling off from everything and just. Diving into it. Headfirst. From like 7am to 10pm I will be eating, breathing, and sleeping FW.

I will be rabid. I will be feral. I will be scouring for any and all information about the characters, the classes, and planning my playthroughs down to the minute with notebooks.

I need to know the characters and if they are romanceable. Then what type of character goes with them.

I hope they ditched the inability to match make the characters from Engage. I love matchmaking characters.

And yes. I DID preorder that bad boy immediately.

Voltage is REEEALLY pushing Princess in the Mirror aren’t they? Those stories are coming out like a conga line.

But aside from that, more Shu this month! One of my favorite Voltage guys! And Taki gets his wedding story too!

I have finished all that Gaia has to his storyline! So I will now be moving on to Shion.

Shion is probably, in my opinion, the most eye catching of the AKD LIs and my personal favorite design wise!

I don’t remember much about his personal storyline, so I will more or less be going in blind. The more memorable storylines were Ken, Haku, and Gaia to me. Lute and Shion just kinda got blanked from my mind.

Doing Gaias Sequel in AKD, and I find it much more interesting than his Main Story!

The Sequels Villain, Count Nari, is a bigger force than Father McRoy. Well, Nari at least feels that way because he specifically goes after the MC - he knows she’s insecure in her status as a Commoner-Turned-Princess and purposely gets himself endeared to her. And then he sees a weakness in her and exploits it. She wants to help his people? Okay, say you need funds for them. And then use those funds for HIMSELF.

It very much gives off he’s the Puppeteer, manipulating a young, naive girl.

While Father McRoy wasn’t a big force within the Main Story. He didn’t have as much as a presence. It was like he was a villain purely because Gaias story needed one.

One of the strengths of A Knights Devotion is the bond between the Knights. It gives off a lot of found family vibes - with Gaia being the Dad of the group. They mostly are for a comedic purpose, but at the same time you also feel the brotherhood they have.

At the same time, I feel like the weakest points of the Title (as far as I’ve gotten, might change with other characters or sequel), is the King and his relationship with the Princess. He doesn’t really exist? He kinda pops up every now and then, but doesn’t really have relevance/character or a real bond with MC that we see.

The King, I feel, is a real “telling and not showing” type of character. At least that’s what I’m getting from him. Which, is probably a symptom of this being one of the early Voltage titles. They hadn’t sharpened their writing claws fully at that point.

With how many otome games are releasing this year - I’m going to need another notebook. Which is how I keep track of what routes I’ve played and my rating of them.

My current one is near full. Mainly because of Voltage titles and different seasons. The KBTBB took up two entire pages and that’s not even including the new vertical ones.

Am I complaining? Probably. Mainly because the notebook is essentially the personification of my backlog. I am also not complaining because I enjoy my husbandos.

I will be starting off with Gaias storyline, since I’m unoriginal and like to start with the last character in the selection menu!

So Commander Gaia is the classic “I’m so stoic and intimidating. Respect me or I’ll kick your ass in training!” At first glance. But the fun thing about him, is he absolutely sucks at anything related to gambling, his terrible sense of humor, and he comes with a cat. Which already raises him into A-Tier because I adore cats and characters with animal companions.

I am totally not biased towards any characters with cats. No idea what you’re talking about.

Anyway, Gaia is really what I picture when I hear “Knight/Princess” romances. Mainly because of how dedicated he is to his job, and watching that professional armor of his crack is always fun and rewarding.

Although I’m not sure why exactly they chose the name Gaia for him. Since it’s the name of a Greek Earth Goddess, and Gaia is a huge tank of a guy. Along with this, AKD has an interesting naming scheme of most characters having 4 letter names - Gaia, Lute, Haku. With a few exceptions being Ken, Richard (Shortened to RICH), and Shion.

Which leads to the question of what nationality is the Kingdom of Rapier supposed to be exactly? Haku is from a different kingdom (from my memory of his route) - which leads to questions of is that kingdom supposed to be Japan due to Haku being a Japanese name? But then by that question, we go to Shion - another mainly Japanese name but he’s from Rapier. So that crosses that question as a no. And Ken, Gaia, and Lute are Rapier-natives I believe and they use more English-worded names.

But that’s just me overthinking Voltages world building.

But Gaias romance gives off very wholesome vibes? Which isn’t what you’d first think when you see him.

Overall, I’d put him into S-Tier. This man is loyal, protective, has a cat, and I imagine he’d be doting, either on MC or any kids he’d have if Voltage continued the AKD storylines. And he can be smooth as hell when he wants to be.

So, going into A Knights Devotion. I thought I’d start off with how I remember liking the characters and stories when I was younger and see how things change after I finish them up.

When I was younger, I remember really loving Haku, with Shion as my second favorite.

In contrast, I remember liking Ken, but not being by very into his Main Story.

Pretty sure I found Lute rather boring, but I did like his appearance.

Gaia, I think I liked him a bit more than Lute but not as much as Haku.

And we’ve already gone over my thoughts on Richard before and how he did not live up to Julian from Barbie as a Princess and a Pauper. But, Julian did set a high bar for Advisor/Princess romances.

So. We will now see if my types and thoughts change as I go through AKD!

Alrighty. I am back from my hop, skip and jumping my way through different games. I have returned to my playthrough of A Knights Devotion, that got paused in my game hopping-tendencies.

Anyway. A Knights Devotion. It’s interesting to me the same way Pirates in Love is interesting in the Voltage Cinematic Universe.

It feels like Voltage doesn’t really delve too much into fantasy. They tend to like to stick to more… modern? Universes; office romances, rich man wooing an average Jane.

But FANTASY. They might dip their toe into it every now and then in Substories. And they tend to be really fun! The only really fantastical worlds they do is Pirates in Love and A Knights Devotion. Maybe Be My Princess and Princess in the Mirror - I don’t really know, I haven’t played those. And the other titles that are fantastical are also somewhat modern - Enchanted in the Moonlight AND 10 Days with my Devil.

AKD and PIL are full blown fantastical and I love that. Because that gives them so much more potential in fun, wacky world building like in the PIL Substories. And in a way, that could let the writers and any (very few) fanfic writers to just go buck wild like a stallion riding into the sunset.

Honestly, Voltage should delve more into fantasy titles. Totally not because I’d give them money for Fairy Tale titles. Or an Arthurian Legends titles. Nopppe.

Fell back into one of my favorite game series, Dragon Age. And with some revelations in the newest Title, I had some ideas. Which are most likely, like 99%, not true. Below are some crack theories. For funsies.

But Andraste COULDVE been a dwarf.

Like if the Maker was a Titan. And Andraste could hear his Voice. So, following this train of thought - Andraste could’ve been like Valta - hearing the Voice of the Titans.

So, Andraste COULD have been the first of whateverthehell we call Valta. The dwarf version of a mage.

Or a Human that could hear and understand Titans. Which I don’t think has been in canon yet.

A new My Forged Wedding series, one of my beloveds since it’s the Title that got me into Otome Games as a whole!

I know absolutely nothing about Vertical MFW. Am I going to buy it? Yes. Because it owns my soul. (Although it will need to wait until SWTOR double exp event is over.) and I also got the Shun Marriage story.

Been a bit slacking lately with otome games as the backlog mountain expands, haven’t been in the mood to read lately! Instead, fell down Hogwarts Legacy rabbit hole and SWTOR event dropped for May the Fourth.

Recently on Tomodachi Life

Anora finally confessed to Cailan, which was then crashed by Cousland. Cailan chose Anora.

Loghain finally confessed to Morrigan, which was then crashed by Varric. Morrigan chose Varric, but I then intervened because I’m getting my Varric/Hawke.

Zevran wants to have a child with Leliana. They had one, Marcos, and he went somewhere else.

Alistair wanted to move in with Zevran, who is MARRIED. No third wheeling allowed, Alistair.

Lela has a crush on Alistair, who has a crush on Merrill. She confessed, but was rejected.

Bethany fell in love with Loghain at first sight. Loghains crush on Morrigan is now reciprocated. Now Bethany fell for Oghren. Loghain also decided to move in with Nathaniel and Catalyna.

Carver and Isabela have mutual crushes on each other.

Varric and Hawke got together. Then almost broke up. I intervened because these two are staying together. They now have an on again off again relationship.

Iron Bull and Sten are now best friends.

So I’ve finished my playthrough of Hogwarts Legacy, as a Ravenclaw, and I think the game was fine? It was good, but there was a lot that they could’ve done better.

First, the game desperately needed a companion system. Which there are mods for that, and I did try them out. However, there was a lot of times where I would get blocked on somewhere by the companions and had to dismiss them. But if it was ingrained into the game as a feature, there would’ve (or should’ve) been ways to get around them without dismissing.

I am a big supporter of open world games need companions so it doesn’t feel as lonely.

Second, where’s my ability to be an Animagus. Let me live out my animal shifting dreams.

Third, I want to ride Abraxans and unicorns. In lore, sure the unicorns aren’t going to let anyone ride them Willy nilly. But who doesn’t want to ride unicorns?

Fourth, and a common complaint, is the inventory system. I’d honestly go by weight instead of just a certain amount of items.

Fifth, relating back to the companion system, is give more characters the same attention that Sebastian had. I’m honestly such a fan of Ominis and he deserved his own specific questline. And add in some romance.

Sixth, I would’ve really loved if choices were more than superficial. Have the choices we make be relevant. Delving into dark magic be commented on, noticeable. Have the choices change how NPCs talk to us.

Belated Monthly Voltage Review -

We are getting more Samurai Love Ballad Main Stories! Around 3, which is nice for those who are getting a bit tired of the drought post release.

Another wedding for Kings of Paradise!

Mystery Vertical KBTBB stories later in the month.

And, A new Kei storyline for MK. Which sounds interesting!

And then another waterfall of the Princess in the Mirror. I know nothing if the Title aside from when that Title rains, it pours so hard it is flooding the app.

If you’re wondering, after another year in Love and Deepspace, I still am undecided as to who my main is.

I am trapped by Rafayel, Sylus, and Caleb indecision. Even sometimes grab steamy Xavier and Zayne cards.

It’s just so hard to choose who to main 😅. I was a firm Rafayel girly when it first released. Then Sylus popped up and his VOICE. And then Caleb, and I was on my hands and knees.

Thinking about Masquerade Kiss for a split second.

And Yuzurus route/storyline, with the MC and Kei just kinda reminds me of that “You, Me, and Steve” song 😂

“It’s just you, and me, and why is Kei in the corner? Yuzuru. Why is Kei here?”
