Hello! My cat Soba has been in and out of confinement for the last 2 weeks because of her recurring rectal prolapse (started on December 2020) We’ve been to different vets (4) already and spent almost Php5000 each just for them to push back her colon inside. This current vet has exhausted all other options to avoid another prolapse but sadly it happened again. The last option now is Colopexy, they called me this morning and they plan to do it tomorrow afternoon (PH time) but we need to make a downpayment first (at least Php 15,000) The total surgery cost will be around Php 20,000 not including the fees that will incur while she stays there after the surgery (confinement and medicine fees). I am knocking in your hearts to help me pay for her bill 🥺I was able to pay for the other fees last 2 weeks but I have exhausted all my budget and emergency money for her already. The first receipt posted is for her current confinement (Feb 12, 2021) the rest are for the past few days she was confined and was treated. I really really want her to get better, as it is very heartbreaking for me already and I want her to come home with me safe and healthy after this💔💔

The past week has been full of worries and fear for me. My new cat Soba had a rectal prolapse, we took her to the vet 3 times in one week. The first time it happened I was so scared that I rushed to the vet immediately. Luckily there was a vet behind our condo. The vet was able to push back the rectum ( not sure if this is the correct word) back inside and even stiched her butt to prevent it from coming out again once she poops, she was prescribed with antibiotics and was advised to go on a soft diet.

After the first visit to the vet and after eating soft food - Royal Canin Recovery food for days, her poop was still hard and big, causing for her rectum to come out again the second time. That second time was a sunday and most vets are closed, we took her to a vet in the province since we were on our way home for the holidays. The vet again was able to push back her rectum, prescribed an ointment as they stiched her butt again. It took her another 3 days before she pooped again, and when she finally did, her rectum popped out AGAIN. The 3rd visit is only 2 days as of this writing. She hasn’t pooped again ever since our visit last December 24, 2020.

The last vet we visited here in the province just did the same. Pushed it back and stitched her butt. All the vets we visited recommended that we use the Elizabethan collar. Of course, I had her wore the collar but she managed to remove it on her own. The third vet was a nice doctor, he was so kind to animals and even called my cat baby while he was trying to stitch her butt. He was so nice and the ONLY vet who helped with the Elizabethan collar. Until now my cat cannot remove the collar that the vet placed on her. I am really hoping that her rectum won’t come out once she poops again since she cannot touch or scratch her butt this time.

To be honest, I’ve already spent a lot on the vet visits, my bonuses are all spent with the vet and I even sold my ipad already, I can’t afford to pay for another surgery ☹️ please pray for my baby Soba 🙏🏻

Meet Soba. I got her last December 6, 2020. I don’t know her exact age but I think she’s one year old and a few months. I adopted her because her previous owner couldn’t take care of her anymore. With her previous owner, she was always locked up in a cage and could barely go out. She was also not litter trained. It’s been a week now since I got her and she still doesn’t know how. She pees and poops inside my bathroom, specifically in the shower area. Good enough for me since it’s easy to clean!

Throughout our one week together, I’ve grown to love her and sometimes I even tear up thinking about how she used to live her life, right now I feel like she’s happy. Words cannot describe how happy I am that she got to live with me and spend her whole life with me. Right now, I allow her to roam around my condo and do whatever she wants, something that she couldn’t do for a long time. She keeps meowing at me as if she’s saying thank you 😻

I’ve also learned that she’s a very sweet cat. She sleeps with me on my bed every night, sometimes she even sleeps on top of me but most of the time when I sleep while touching/holding her, she would hug my hand that’s holding her. Every night before we go to bed, if I was to go to the bathroom to wash up she would follow me and go back to the bed with me. On the bed, she would always snuggle up to me or cuddle with me. God, I love her!!

I love you Soba, I will do everything to keep you healthy and safe. From this day forward, I will make sure that you will not feel alone and scared. 🤍🤍🤍
