Hello! We are The Multimedia System, AKA MeownSys, this is our blog to discuss plurality and life as a multiple system. As a collective, our casual name is Meown or Ryan and we use he/him or plural they/them pronouns! (he&/him& and they&/them& is also okay!)

We are a Protogenic polyconscious multiple system - Our exact headcount is a mystery but it seems to be around the 30-40+ range! We are very distinct from each other and prefer to be treated like multiple people in a group, rather than parts/alternate identities. We do not consider ourselves disordered- our plurality is just how our life turned out, it's how our brain has always worked and we are most comfortable being multiple :)

We are very pro-endogenic and pluralpunk, we love to educate about and discuss plural experiences. Plurality is our special interest! Anti-endos and sysmedicalists, this blog isn't for you unless you are willing to be open-minded and understanding :) If you don't want to see any mentions of this debate, please block the #syscourse tag! We are not looking to in-fight; we are just passionate about plurals being treated with respect and acceptance.

It actually makes a lot of sense that Bravery's caretaker is a being made of the galaxy. He views the galaxy as a divine power, an overseer, almost like a father to him; No wonder the one who talks him through things and protects him from scary feelings would end up taking the form of it.

it's perfectly fine to desire and pursue fusion, and you deserve safe places to talk about this comfortably. fusion can be such a beautiful experience that various beings have had such positive experiences with, and is one of the many beautiful experiences that plurality can offer.

Plurality, as conceptualized in peer-reviewed research:

Plurality, often also called multiplicity, is "having more than one self in the mind and body" (Eve & Parry, 2021).

Plurality "is not a diagnosis" (Eve, et al., 2023) and is "a broader concept than DID" (Christensen, 2022).

Plurality is "a broad term, which encompasses a range of experiences" because "people have individual conceptualizations of what it means to be ‘more than one’" (Eve, et al., 2023).

Plurality is "a term coined to be more inclusive than only that of traumagenic multiplicity" (Christensen, 2022).

Not all people who experience plurality will identify as a 'plural' or 'multiple.' Plurality is a useful umbrella term for the experience of more-than-oneness "but not necessarily a term reflective of one's identity or self-expression" (Christensen, 2022).

"[N]ot everyone who identifies as multiple will want or require mental health intervention for the condition they experience" (Eve, et al., 2023).

The concept of non-traumagenic plurality does not hurt DID research. "[T]he research confirming DID as a trauma-based disorder is doing just that: confirming traumagenic DID, the disorder, not Plurality, the identity . . . Distinguishing between the two does not need to invalidate either" (Christensen, 2022).

The idea that plurality is inherently disordered is a product of Western culture. "Within Western linear frameworks . . . there has been an emphasis on the ‘healthy self’ being integrated and whole" (Eve & Parry, 2021). "In indigenous cultures, esp. shamanic societies, a polypsychism (i.e. many selves) prevails" (Scharfetter, 2008).

Fakeclaiming and anti-endo / anti-plural rhetoric is traumatizing. "[H]aving a condition such as multiplicity that is not generally validated and recognised in a community can be, in itself, traumatic. Even if trauma does not precede the development of multiplicity, trauma-informed care would still be appropriate for many young people who seek help for multiplicity" (Parry, et al., 2021).

Is it a headmate? Is it a fragment? Is it a facet? Is it a persona? Am I subconsciously masking? Am I subconsciously/involuntarily otherlinking/copinglinking? Is it a kinshift? Is it a ’flicker? Is it age regression? Is it a mood? Is it impulsivity? Is it an intrusive thought that I’m reacting to? Is it genderfluidity? Is it pronoun/namefluidity?

Who knows! Who cares! I don’t need to stress about this, it doesn’t matter! It’s a mode that the “I” is in, the way I feel in that moment! And I will make a pluralkit/tupperbox/simplyplural for it so I can express myself and decide the rest later! Or never! These labels are a construct! Personhood itself is a construct! I don’t need to box myselves! I can just live!

sometimes various aspects and functions of your systemhood can be heavily related to topics that are usually to be censored or not to be mentioned at all. you are absolutely not alone in your experience, and you will find people who are genuinely interested in hearing about your system in an unrestricted manner. you existing as your most honest self is an experience you have a right to, and not being able to do that in most spaces says nothing about who you or your system is.

knowing who's in/near the front is a skill we had to develop over time. getting to know each other, learning to pay attention to our thoughts and feelings, and noticing what it physically feels like for each of us to occupy the body all helped a lot. if you wish you were better at it, keep practicing! you'll improve over time.

it will never be offensive to anyone who matters if you question plurality. if you decide to use plural pronouns. if you use pluralkit or tupperbox. if your name, gender, pronouns, whatever changes. it will never be offensive to any "real plurals" if you thiink you might be plural, whether you find you are or not.
