reminder that whatever ends up happening this season, whoever ends up taking on a bigger role at the call center in maddie’s absence, (and right now it looks like that it will be may!!) that they deserve it.

no one is replacing maddie. no one deserves any backlash or hate for this. i really don’t want to see any maddie fans doing what abby fans did when abby left. i have no hate for anyone during maddie’s absence. if it’s may, good for corinne. if it’s someone else, good for them.

there is no reason to pit anyone against maddie.

just going to say it… I’m salty that we haven’t gotten a Valentine’s Day episode since season one. i want madney valentines.

I want to see season two Maddie and chimney trying to figure out if they’re doing anything and eventually ordering takeout and pretending that Valentine’s Day doesn’t exist. I want to see season three Maddie and chimney trying to plan a romantic dinner and ending up having to work. I want to see season four maddie and Chimney pregnant and anxious but making it work. i want to see the angst and romance of the day. i want to see chimney trying to figure out a gift.

i want to see confused maddie who kind of hates this holiday bc of doug but she also wants to love it because she knows that chimney will make it different. she also wants to love it because of her childhood when she and Buck used to make valentines for each other.  I want to see her rewriting the pathways in her brain so that she can enjoy the day again. jlh loves vday sm and i really want to see how they make that work since maddie would have obvious history with it.

prompt: buddie writers and readers stop demonizing maddie’s mental illness for their prompts and figure out something to write about that isn’t character assassination of every other person in the show. they also realize how insensitive prompts like this are and get some awareness for how this treats both maddie and chim. maddie and chim are not tools to make buddie look better. istg you can write the same plot by having buck find a kid at the fire station without being offensive and misogynistic but i guess if it’s not misogynistic then y’all don’t want it. ✋

maddie has plenty of money, this is established in 3.10.

second of all, buck IS ALSO A FIREFIGHTER WITH A CRAZY SCHEDULE. did he quit his job?

third, why would chimney give his DAUGHTER that he has waited his entire life for away? he’d literally quit his job before he let that happen.

fourth, even in living through the hell of ppd, maddie wouldn’t just give her daughter away. hell no.

fifth!!!!!!!! chimney was abandoned by his dad- he would NEVER do the same thing to jee, family is the single most important thing to him.

just. use. logic!!! or at the very least keep it out of the maddie tag.
