Now that’s a welcome sight. And no, he’s not thinking about the attractive young lady with the parasol. Although... yes, she too, is a welcome sight. But more importantly, the way said tiny lady was surrounded by a bunch of bodies that most likely tried to take advantage of her small frame, thinking they could take her on and get away with it is what the silver clad male was mentally referring to.
Neo would have proved them wrong oh so painfully. Mercury whistled as he entered the scene.
“Damn, missed a party here. Are they dead?” he asked, casually strutting by her side and kicking one downed thug lightly against their cranium. A groan makes its way out. Mercury pouted and turned to Neo. “...Missed this spot.” A loud bang and a click later, and the thug was no more.
“Hmm... nine outta ten, since you missed one, but good job. Good to see you’re still around luring people like them in a false sense of security and confidence before snuffing them out.”

♕►“YOU have a lot of EXPLAINING to do!” She wagged a finger at the young man, his appearance burned into her mind. Or rather, the appearance of Yang attacking him back at the Vytal Festival. She had resolved that, no matter what, she would believe Yang’s claims. “I don’t know what your GAME is, but there is NO way Yang would have attacked you for no reason. You DID something.”
Well, now that’s interesting. When he saw the Ice Queen of Beacon making a beeline towards him, Mercury was positive she was about to whip out her rapier at him regarding the truth of what really happened during the festival’s tournament. Instead, all he got was an accusatory look complete with a wagging, pointing finger.
Seems lil’ red riding hood have not had the chance to spill the beans yet. Good. That means he can mess with miss noble nose here for the time being.
“Oh, I admit, I did do something,” Mercury began, clearly and obviously unapologetic. “I walked up to congratulate blondie, but I guess she got a little too hot headed for sportsmanship. She barely just beat me, after all. Tsk tsk... broke my poor leg. Your friend’s got some serious anger issues.”

“Hey, lady. You lost?” She looked lost. That or she just had a naturally droopy look about her. She didn’t look half bad though, Mercury mused to himself. Still, hitting on good-looking strangers wasn’t the objective today. Perhaps at another time, but he was looking for people he knew who might or might not still be in the city.
“Damn, thought I found her too,” he muttered to himself, eyeing the bright green locks of the pointy-eared woman. At a glance, it would have been a little easy to make the mistake and think she was his partner in crime. Not so much after a second one. “Well, I might as well ask. Seen anyone else with hair like yours? About this tall, always looks like she’s perpetually annoyed at someone, kinda hot from the back?”
“Hmm, you remember me?” Shalem replied, tilting his head slightly. “Well, I guess I should congratulate you, considering how long that must have been. I have only a faint memory of such a thing, but yes… strapping guns to one’s boots would be peculiar.”
“Though, on the topic of that, wouldn’t it be dangerous to strap guns to one’s boots? What if there was a misfire? What if you break said guns strapped to your boots?”
He played it down often enough, being a pain in the ass and all towards a certain partner of his but the fact is, Mercury’s smart. Smarter than he lets on. He doesn’t forget a face unless he thought they weren’t worth his time.
“Still doubtful huh?” Mercury flashed a knowing smirk, peppered with arrogance. “Oh, well if it’s the literal definition, then yeah, I suppose that would be pretty stupid to do. But hey, I know someone who got it to work. Makes for an effective concealed weapon.”

“Huh, deja vu.” Funny, didn’t he see this guy during his first time around the city as well? Unless he was remembering it wrong, which was impossible, since his memory’s quite good.
“I remember you,” Mercury added. “Don’t know if you remember, but we talked about guns being strapped to boots.”
He took one whiff of the meme-filled air, hands on his hips and looking rather content as he stared upon the majestic wall scroll littered over the entire city.
“Yep. Home sweet home.” Sarcasm at it’s best.

As soon as she saw the beating was taking place, Aqua ran to the scene of the action. Not a thought in her body told her otherwise– her sense of justice was too strong for that. She saw the man to the side, staring with a smug smirk upon his lips– and she would get to that later. He was no more innocent than the men kicking around the NPC./p>
Though the keyblade master was equipped only with a wooden sword, she still held it out in offense to the perpetrators, brows knitted in anger. The thugs thought nothing of her, advancing. Still, it was easy enough to take a couple of them down, leaving the group to flee with their tails between their legs. With a sigh, Aqua set down her worn weapon down, crouching before the wounded NPC.
Knowing she had a daily limit, the young woman still reached out a hand toward their bruises and cuts, a soft green glow emanating from her palm. The small scrapes and deep bruises were healed, and with a smile she sent the civilian to run back home. With a breath, she looked over at the silver haired teen, frown very evident.
“You.” Her voice was serious. “Why didn’t you do anything?”
Honestly, he figured that man was done for. Remnant was a harsh world, but his world was nothing compared to the brutality and cruelty this city was capable of showing, especially now that it seemed a sort of sickness came down on to the citizens themselves. He didn’t quite understand it himself, but the city definitely turned for the worse.
So when someone came to the man’s rescue, imagine his surprise. Well, more like a dull surprise, really; just a quirk of his brow and a slightly impressed nod.
She wasn’t half-bad, this do-gooder. She had technique, and Mercury could tell she was an experienced fighter, despite being hindered by that awful wooden weapon. That, and she was pretty easy on the eyes as well. And she can heal people, apparently. Although, as much as he regarded the young woman in a relatively positive light, she certainly wasn’t thinking the same for him. He was not about to change that impression either.
“Uhh... would you believe me if I told you that I didn’t want my boots dirtied from all of that rough housing?” A pause, followed by a nonchalant shrug. “Or would you prefer something like... I thought it was a lost cause, maybe?”
“Huh. Well someone’s enjoying themselves without me.”
The feed was clear, and the light show was brilliant and extravagant as well as being chaotic and violent in all its explosive glory. The poor building had no chance, and Mercury figured it’d be up in flames soon. Now he felt a little envious that he hadn’t come up with this idea himself.
“I’ll let you have this one Neo,” he said as he watched the feed continue on. Although, his face does contort into one of confusion, briefly. “...The hell’s with the 4th of July anyway?”

As if it wasn’t already knee deep in it before, but this just sealed it in for Mercury. A suspected non-human NPC was taking a beating from his fellow citizens. This violent discrepancy between humans and non-humans were at an all time high, especially after Mr. I Have Issues with Humans went ahead and broadcast the whole thing.
Oh and yes, Mercury is doing nothing to help the poor soul being beaten to a pulp. He’s just standing there, watching like the jerk that he is.

Oh, well here’s a familiar face. Now where did Mercury see this guy... was it the zoo? No, they haven’t reported any missing animals. The museum? Nah, no stolen exhibits either. Ah, that’s right, now he remembers.
“Hey, you. Tailbutt. You were part of that gaudy boyband team from the tournament right?”

“Huh. So that’s what it looks like if you get stuck in a freezer for too long.” Go figure, right? Blue skin, blue hair... wait, did it just get colder all of the sudden?

“I’d watch your step if I were you. Almost stepped on that dead guy’s hand.” A groan then followed the source of his quipping, and the silver-clad male shrugged lightly. “Well, I thought he was dead. Looked dead too. What’s a girl like you doing in this rundown part of town anyway?”
