the more i think about it the more funny it is that lwj straight up killed a bunch of cultivators while defending wwx at nightless city and everyone was still like “what an upstanding guy.” you literally see him cut several people’s throats in defense of the yiling patriarch and it does not affect his honourable reputation at all. not only do they then just let him hold them off at the burial mounds, like okay hanguang-jun said we can’t invade, guess we’ll go home, but 13 years later they’re still just like wow. hanguang-jun. we should totally send all our kids to get taught by this guy. lwj who, when he takes breaks from actively trying to find and protect wwx, literally teaches his students to use wwx’s talismans. somehow when wwx shows up again and lwj takes his side, everyone is like, wow yiling laozu can even deceive the great and honourable hanguang-jun! who could have predicted this shocking turn of events. 10 minutes later they make him chief cultivator
