Would you ship it: Sebastian/Nathaniel
Not for a big long love affair, but what if Rendon Howe took his family up to Starkhaven for a visit (because theyâre cousins in some way. These folks are alwyas cousins in some way) and the two boys, older teens at this point, were expected to hang around each other.
Nathanielâs a good boy, carefully stepping through hoops to meet his fatherâs expectations and trying to measure up to his fatherâs legacy. Sebastian is not good at all and for the first week of the visit, Nathaniel hardly sees him. He asks a servant about him and servant just rolls his eyes and waves a hand at the castle gates.Â
âWith the whores,â he says and Nathaniel doesnât go looking for him.Â
At the end of the week, Sebastian is back and gets a series of stern lectures from his parents and tutors about how he has a guest and canât he restrain himself for a few weeks and act like a proper Vael man in order to exhibit an ounce or two of hospitality? They have their fingers crossed because that Howe boy is as buttoned down as they come. Maybe heâd be a good influence on Sebastian.
So the boys meet and thereâs a good spell of boring small talk until one of them mentions he likes to shoot, The otherâs eyes light up and off they go to the yard. Nate and Sebastian spend the day competing against each other and by the end of that day Nateâs convinced that Seb is a solid fellow while Seb decides that Nate is a good deal of fun.Â
âCome on,â says Seb. âI know a place.â
The place is a brothel and Nate is awkward. Seb shrugs and wanders off to have fun while Nate stews in the common room. He considers leaving, but at this point he decides heâs got some responsibility for getting Sebastian home safe. So he waits. A good deal of time later, a tipsy Seb emerges, takes Nates arm and starts the walk home.Â
Nate quiet, but Seb isnât. He goes on about what happened and what he did and who he did and Nate tries not to be interested. After a while, Seb relates something particularly funny and Nate starts laughing. Sebâs still a little drunk and, after talking about the fun he just had, still looking for more fun. He kisses Nate. Nate doesnât stop the kiss.Â
They spend the rest of the visit in Sebâs room âplaying card gamesâ.Â

I actually tucked it away in my monthly writing folder as an idea for later. XD Generally I either write a fic in a day or it marinates for 6 months to a year, so ask me for the finished story this time next year.Â
