I think Chell could pull off Half-Life and Gordon Freeman would excel at the puzzle aspect of Portal but it wouldn’t have quite the same juicy interpersonal derangement. Chell plays the game like a bright and unusually stubborn and determined normal person but Gordon would play like a puzzle breaking speedrunner. Glados would be like Well you found m– and he’d already be duct taping a huge ball of turrets together with disconcerting speed and efficiency and lobbing it at her and once it makes contact with her chassis the turrets kneejerk react by shooting frantically, combusting each other, and glados would instantly explode.
