let’s start with saying i got the “idea” (which is not an actual idea because i didn’t create the ship, nor did any “gay fans”) from the comic books. marvel canon is filled to the brim with hints and incredibly slashy moments, so i think it’s pretty safe to say that shippers simply followed the lead.
as for me, i started shipping them before i even knew what shipping was (which means i was 13 and still believed sperm was multicolored, but that’s a story for another day), so i’m always a bit baffled when people ask me “but WHY do you ship them?” as if i woke up one day and decided to pair two random characters together.
however, it’s also true that there are lots of new fans who’ve just started reading the comics/are very skeptical about this whole shipping business/think shippers are in for the pretty white dudes, and these past few days there’s been a lot of wank talk about why people ship steve/tony, so i figured i would make something to explain why i ship them.
that pretty much sums up my steve/tony adventure. it’s like being on a rollercoaster that never stops, where all you can do is pull yourself together and wait for the next twist.
