"Right answer?"
Gold stared over at Silver for a moment, his head tilted at a slight axis. There was an unusual, studious look on the jet-haired male’s face as he observed the redhead, and then after a few moments he suddenly broke out laughing like an idiot again.
"There is no ‘right answer’, Silver! Whatever makes you happy is what makes you happy! It’s just as simple as that." Gold chuckled once more as he leaned back a bit, his hands clasped firmly behind his head, resting on the brim on his hat.
"Although I gotta say, not thinking about fun sounds pretty depressing to me… maybe there is some stuff that you’d enjoy and you just haven’t found it yet? And who better to help you than the master of goofing off - moi?"
On some level, Gold knew that the person he was trying to befriend was virtually his opposite in every way.The things that brought Gold joy would probably just seem annoying to Silver. Though he had no way to know, unless the two actually tried something and it failed to impress them.
"Though I will say this, Silver… bonding with your Pokemon is one of the best things any trainer can do! It’s basically my favorite thing to do."

Was he going to laugh at everything they said?
Silver stares in disbelief. The laughter even came more suddenly this time, giving them a bit of a jolt. More like, what a dolt. But really, they were more embarrassed than they were angry. It was like they were a child being taught the fundamentals of opinions and hobbies.
'Moi'. This was... This was the person who bested them. Something about that never seemed right. It was the way things were and they had accepted it but every once in a while, like right now, it just really sunk in.
"... Humph.... I meant more.. 'right' to someone like you. I can't really imagine what you do for fun but I'm sure it's very different." Silver takes their turn to look Gold up and down this time. "I don't know whether you're right to call it depressing or not, since I'm biased. I have a lot to focus on... I need to believe in my partners more. I need something... and I will find it. Don't think I've given up yet."
Friends or not, they still had every intention of taking the other on again one day when they were certain they were ready. Losing at the Indigo Plateau wasn't a huge deal... they could improve more. They had to.
By now Silver seemed more distant and there was a hint of desperation as well. Gold was able to laugh and feel carefree but they wanted to prove themselves so badly that it wasn't easy to be that way. It affected their approach in battle as well.
"I'll... try things with you, if you want. Just nothing reckless."
