I actually really like the term genderqueer, because the only thing it specifies about your gender is that it's queer in some way. Does that mean you're nonbinary? Binary trans? Cis with some freaky cool gender presentation stuff going on? None of those or all of those? It doesn't matter and I think that's beautiful.

I know that Bruce Robinson had no intention of writing Withnail as gay. I know that him lying to Monty about Marwood being in love with him was probably supposed to be demonstrative of his selfishness. I know that him losing all hope when Marwood leaves him is due to loss of distraction, rather than loss of a loved one. I know that the reason they don’t even raise the subject of women is because they are apparently too poor to maintain girlfriends. I know that Withnail getting arrested for speeding to get Marwood back for his audition was probably due to love of theatre, rather than an attempt to atone for his actions on their holiday. But my goodness, it all comes off as so gay.

I've seen so many amazing fan versions of the ending that I absolutely love. But I started drawing this comic, that changes very little from the one we got and decided to finish it!

In my mind everything stays the same, except there is no hell and heaven. So there's no need for angels and demons and their influence on humanity. The angelic and demonic characters can remain immortal just like Aziracrow, If they want to. Or they can choose to become humans and live their new, free live just as they want :)

I just feel like heaven, Hell, and the whole system were what kept Aziracrow from being happy- not the universe and humanity.
